Plexiglass has started coming down! It is removed from about half of the tables currently. According to City of Philadelphia Covid restrictions, Masks are still currently required by all guests and employees!

If that's true - what is rake in PLO?
Hi RY215,

I'll do my best to answer your questions, but I can't speak to the way that the games play compared to other casinos.

The garage and street lot both charge for entrance during home games. If you have a Gold card or above, you are not charged. If you have a red card, you can be reimbursed with free slot play once inside the casino.

The Bad Beat hit for over $600k about a week ago. We are currently not offering a bad beat promotion. High Hands will be starting following final approval from the State Gaming Board now that the high hand is hit. We are offering $500 for any Royal Flush using both hole cards on jackpot eligble tables. Rake is $5 max with $2 max jackpot drop.

Our PLO games are time-raked games and are currently priced at $6 per player per half hour.

We look forward to having you in the room!

Joe

Happy to hear that the big money-sink bad beat is going away and will be largely replaced with high hands

Hello Wolosz85! Are you offering complimentary alcoholic beverages to players like other area rooms did before COVID? I asked when I visited but at that time you weren't serving alcohol at all (other than with meals) and nobody knew how things would shake out.

Rivers told me masks will be mandatory at least until the 11th. I assume it's the same for Live.

Now that the pandemic is easing and more people are vaccinated, I'm looking forward to playing poker again. I'm curious about whether the regulars from Rivers Casino have migrated over to Philly Live! and which room will have the best action on a weekend night. I used to love the games at Rivers on Friday and Saturday nights when the $500 high hand promotions had the poker room packed with action players. I hope at least one of these venues will have similar action when the plexiglass finally comes down and the masks come off.

I was there today from noon until around 6:30 and they had a clock counting down high hands every half hour.

In news for my fellow alcoholics, I like to start a session off with a shot of bourbon (Makers is my preference) and a beer. This is an issue nowhere else except one room (I think Delaware Park) I have to down the shot before they give me the beer which is how I do it anyway so it's not an issue.

Anyway, they won't allow you to get a citywide there as a shot and beer are considered two drinks. And they won't get me a second drink for a half hour.

The guy next to me ordered a beer for me which solved the problem but even that was dumb since the server saw it all and cool with it. If they're gonna be that lax about a dumb rule why have the dumb rule?

Anyway, I left down $30. Woulda been a win had I not got it all in with top two on an A-T-rag rainbow flop and run it into pocket tens... Hands like that are why I need my alcohol.

Planning to check out the room. 1st trip since the pandemic.

Probably only going to get a few hours in late night. $8 rake for only high hand?

Any decent spots to enjoy a cigar there?

But, were they actually paying out high hands??? And if so, for how much? You made it sound like they just had a clock up there for testing or something.!

The clock said $500. The dealers said there was a high hand every half hour. I was unaware that I needed to add these specifics to make it known they were doing a high hand promotion. Good thing I didn't have to win one to prove it since I didn't come close.

Sorry, it was just that when you posted this, I checked Bravo and didn't see any mention of high hands and there's still nothing there now!

If you guys are running a high hand promo and not listing it in the promo section of the Bravo app, that's really really bad.

I live almost dead center between Philly and Atlantic City and there's a couple of times I was going to check out your room but didn't because there was nothing listed in the Bravo app and I guarantee there are many like me. You should be constantly updating your promos in the app.

Promotions have not started. As soon as they receive final approval from the state, the Bravo App will be updated and I will let you all know here to check the App.

So, NYC, what about that high hand promo from the other day you spoke of? I'm confused!

I am too. It was on the Bravo and dealers spoke about it. Since I didn't come close to hitting (and nobody at my table did either) I didn't have enough emotionally invested to ask if the thing I saw with my eyes and heard with my ears was actually true.

In other news, I can report on the Phillies Gameday Parking situation - you can't sign up the same day (everyone involved made sure to give that disclaimer). You can pay with cash or a credit card at the garage and it's $25. Saved the receipt. Brought it in after the game to the Rewards desk and they added the $25. I was told that it needed to be used that day but I am not so sure about that. Regardless I did use it (won $3.90 in real money, woo).

I had my 18-year old son with me so he hung out in the car while I was doing this. I picked him up a slice of pizza and a taco from the taco place, but all of those lines took a while and my son left the lights and vent on in the car on battery power only and of course my battery was dead when I got back.

I called the casino first to see if security could help and they said that only one person who worked for them was qualified to give me a jump and he wasn't working. Alrighty then.

AAA said they would take 76 minutes (oddly precise estimate on their app!) The wife said "Since we're here anyway, why don't you play cards." I married very, very well.

Got into a short-handed game that opened up soon after I arrived. It never had more than six people and had only four as often as five. While four-handed the button raised to $6 and I three-bet to $26 with AQo from the SB. The BB went all-in and the button folded. It was only $88 total so I quickly called and found out I was up against AT of diamonds and then the button said "I folded Ace-Ten," which elicited a groan from the big blind. Sure enough my hand held up.

I didn't want to play three-handed since he was done and didn't want to wait for a new seat since my tow truck was about 15 minutes away so I racked up with a $130 profit. I am not one to hit and run but it is what it is. Then I tipped the tow truck driver my slot winnings.

There was talk about the high hand starting soon at the table tonight. Dealer said the other day they were trying it out and had the clock running. That must be what you witnessed.
