Re: Philly Live!

I went yesterday not knowing there was an Eagle preseason game (evidently the Eagles didn't know either!) and the parking cost jumps up to $40 for Eagles games unless you have a better than basic card (of course they stopped matching cards right after I got Platinum at CET).

That was a bit of a surprise. They try and make up for it with $50 in slot play and another $25 if you come back within the week (I may or may not take advantage of that). Also got a $10 food comp that I used, a discount at the gift shop that I didn't, and a choice of a hat, shirt, or bag (I went with the hat).

I put the free slot dollars into a machine with $100 and left with $75 (-$25).

I played $1/3 for an hour before the tournament started (+$35).

I did not cash in the tournament that had I think 26 players (somewhere around there) nor did I win a bounty. Lost a big pot against someone whose boat beat my straight; got crippled when I got it in with AK preflop against three other players - super shorty had K9, other shorty had QJ, big stack also had AK; flop had two Queens. Shoved my last $5900 in blind in the HJ with only the BB big stack who called. I actually had A2 and was ahead of his Q9 but he flopped a Queen and I was done. (-$120).

Overall while I like that they are trying to give people a lot for the inconvenience of paying to park, had I known that was the case I would have done the Rivers tournament taking place at the same time. Being $40 in the hole before even getting into the casino felt terrible.

if it's pot rake i'd agree you're getting scammed but while i appreciate paying half time even if you don't you're getting a lot more hands for the same amount of money.

Fairly sure it was $7 per down but may have been 8.

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you earlier than this... I start work at 11pm right now.

The AM tournament on Tuesdays has been averaging ~40 people

The PM tournament on Tuesdays has been averaging ~60 people

Joe

Re: Philly Live!

I like playing at tables where the pots are contested as multi-way as possible. I like cold callers, I like many limpers, I like 4+ players seeing the flop. I dont like 8-handed. 9-handed is better for cash games at 2-5 and below. If I wanted to play heads up pots all day, I'd play on PokerStars PA.

His username choice is pretty interesting. Remember what happened to Jimmy Hoffa?
