There are a lot of rooms in Florida taking 5 + 2, right or wrong, they have business. Jackpots drive in the bad players and make the games good for the better players
It is the poker rooms right to charge whatever they desire. The fact is the pensacola greyhound track is located in the poorest area of Florida. That $2 I am concerned about adds up to over $400 more coming off the table during a 10 hour session. Simple math says that the room will not be able to operate for years into the future, with the amount of players they currently enjoy, unless something changes.
If the buy ins do in fact increase it would definitely help, but as noted by liveactionpro it will also bring about circumstances that will be less than desirable for the poker room.
And I would be willing to bet that the Jackpot money the poker room spreads around comes from...wait for it...the jackpot money they rake. I am sure they have no plans currently to just spread around money from the regular rake.
