On Camden - OP said he is looking for a place to crash as he will be playing during break. Probably college student. Buddy probably lives on/near Rutgers U Campus in Camden. Probably okay. Parx - 30 mins north w/o traffic. $3-4 bridge toll.

Rapini,

Seems like you play here a bit? don't you live down here in DC? What's your usual travel arrangements?

Bingo. He goes to Rutgers Law.

Yeah, he said it's 25-30 mins and that his area is relatively "safe." But I was skeptical cause, obv, it's Camden.

However, do appreciate knowing it's a $4 toll. From Lancaster it's like what, ~2ish hours with no traffic? Maybe take a lot less time coming home late at night?

Yeah, it's 1 1/2 to 2 hours to Lancaster from Parx, but it's also the Turnpike, so I would guess $5 to $6 each way. Coming from Camden, you're only going to pay the bridge toll one way. Doesn't cost anything going from PA into NJ, only from NJ into PA.

I heard that you're now playing w/ a $5 bring in to juice it up.

Sat in this game for a few hands while waiting for a different seat to open up. . . I suck at PLO, but seat 3 almost made me stay.

Such ridiculously good action tonight at 2/5. Was one of the best tables I've been at ever.

Agree. It's only a matter of time before this happens.

How many tables will there be after the expansion this month ?

Expansion is on 12/22 pending gaming board approval, and Parx will then be going from 24 to 48 tables last time I heard.

Plenty of reasonable places to stay nearby that aren't Camden. Lancaster not bad ride to parx, or hchester... but if going to parx, no reason to be staying in camden. If going to Chester than Camden is perfectly consistent with your scene. And convenient.

Ari, Any plan to have an actual restaurant that is open normal playing hours in parx east? I heard the white linen place next door in racebook is only open when track is open. Would be great to have some sort of real food option! And can the bar serve snacks? Maybe candy, nuts, etc... they have a little basket downstairs at grill but its closed early. Think of the profits that could be made on some twizzlers and peanut M&M's!

If not, what about Camden? My buddy offered his place up in Camden to crash overnight to grind Parx over the break, but I can't claim I'm too thrilled about going back to Camden at night and would rather drive back to where I'm staying for most of the break in Lancaster. Is there any hotel nearby that's reasonable enough to not crack into my overhead?

Finally, I'm mainly interested in playing 15/30 or higher... with the expansion of the room is the feeling that there will be more tables running/getting started of this game?

Thanks!

Sorry if this isn't the right place for these questions, but I think it is? Rapini will tell me :-P.
karak - make friends with someone who goes to Penn, Temple or Drexel (or at least UArts) imo

It will be going from 24 to 41 tables on 12/22, pending approval.

A noodle restaurant will be opening downstairs as part of the expansion, I believe opening on the same day.

Now that the room has been open for a while how would you all say the talent compares at the lower levels to other casnios? Is this room particularly hard at 1/2 and 2/5?

Play was very weak last night for the most part. At first it started out a little nitty, but a few regs left and then it was a drunken shove fest.

Again, I'm hopeful that we'll get the elusive 30/60 running once the expansion happens. It SEEMS like there will be enough interest to get it going at least occasionally at first. Please, let's do it! I'm getting tired of bleeding chips playing every pot at 15/30. Oh wait, that's what I do at 30/60.

Was thinking, after multiple sessions, that there are few new businesses that are able to prepare for all the operational problems and unforeseen circumstances / problems when they open their doors for business. Furthermore, even fewer are able to respond to customer feedback with speed and thoughtfulness. This parx opening really has been remarkably smooth. Compare it to any business launch, and it has a lot that is being done right and well. While I have read some of the criticisms, I also think that considering the newness of the room, it really has been impressive start. And, I think most of us have great confidence that things only get better from here.

Its not a 5 bring in cause thats not approved by PA gaming, but we do our degen best to get everyone at the table to make it 5 blind from UTG. A dead straddle/sleeper.

I waited till the table nit got up last night and then got everyone to agree to make the game 2/5, muahahahahaha. Great game, looking forward to many more!

I actually haven't had the chance to play @ Parx yet. When I'm in SE Pa., it's usually to visit family in the western suburbs of Philly. I drive up from DC when I go. It's pretty much the same distance from them to DP and Parx, so on the rare occasions I've gotten to play I've gone to DP. I'm sure I'll get to Parx one of these days.

I love playing @ the V when in Vegas, so it would make sense that I'd enjoy playing @ Parx from how it seems that Ari has his finger on the pulse of poker players.

The 5-10nl game has been really juicy the past week. A player (who will remain annonymous) lost about 30k in the span of 3 days. It was a feeding frenzy! Im a 2-5nl reg who is a BR management nazi and I even took a shot in that game.

Also, does anyone know if they are going to make the room brighter/change lighting after the expansion?

We will have a noodle bar that is going to be open pretty late into the evening starting on 12/22.

I'm not going to ask you how you got my email address, was impressed/scared enough to add this feature. Now you can filter by game in the timeline view.
