Heh nice try, but you should try to learn how to speak like an adult if you want to try to come off as a professional. Words that come out of mid 20s internet poker players mouths and not adults running card rooms "bogus, handle, doubters".

Looks good to me, especially the intent to run a good room for regular players. From a public profile-

Poker Players I Respect Most: The players that grind out a living.
If I could change anything in the world: Everyone respecting each other.
If I could change anything in the poker world: Players respecting other players.

Experience looks solid, I don't see the Taj in the list though-

That's Ari all right, now the head of poker at Parx. A great hire for them - and Atlantic City's loss, in my humble opinion. Should be a really good room.

Whoever "Parx Poker Manager" is has to be bogus. I don't know yet about the "Ari" poster. May or may not be legit.

My read is Ari is legit and Parx poker manager is teasing us.

100% not July, it is likely to be October from what we hear.

Posts 33-37 by Repulse and myself don't make much sense now, so to explain there was a clear fake account that had it's posts deleted we were referring to.

I knew it was most likely fake, but I was still holding out hope that it was somehow opening July 1... oh well!

Please, oh please, let Parx not be a 1/2-2/5 NL & 2/4-3/6 LHE only room.

Anyway, here's my 'wish list' for Parx;

Autoshufflers on every table.
Decent chairs.
Cupholders built into the rail.
TV's that you can actually see when sitting at the table.
Full & half kill LHE games.
Wouldn't mind seeing the LHE game limits differ from AC; 2/4, 4/8, 6/12, 8/16, 15/30, 30/60, etc. (Sorry, but 3/6 & 5/10 just aren't very good)
Regular low/mid limit stud & Omaha h/l games.
Larger antes for any stud games, don't want to see 1-5 no ante or 5/10 .50 ante.
(1-5 should have a .25 or .50 ante, for 4/8 or 5/10 a $1 ante is good)
A mixed game (maybe HORSE if razz is approved ?) around $6/12.
A stud 8-only game, not 2-way.

My wish list is mainly that they don't kill us with the rake/time charge. I talked with some of the 5/10 NL Borgata regulars a couple of months ago and they said to me that they would try to start 5/10 NL games, so hopefully there will be enough interest for them to have at least a couple 5/10 games.

Great news! Thank you PARX for listening to your potential customers! Sounds like we are going to have one kick ass poker room. My wife and I will be there once a week. errrr my wife will be there once a week I'll probably visit 2 or 3 times.

Don't forget about the tournaments!!

that is all

As to those with a wish list for games/levels. It will all depend on what the players want. Just like in AC and elsewhere. I'm sure that Ari will spread whatever there is demand for - so long as it's legal in Pa. - but if the demand isn't there........

I am really excited to see the interest about our poker room. We are working very hard to make a room that all players always hoped for. I started in this business as a player and I have done every job in a poker room; with that said I try to operate the room by looking at everyones perspective. I have a very good feeling that we will not be your typical 1-2/2-5 room, I sense that there is a lot of demand for higher limit games.

I'm really glad to see that you are in charge of the poker room Parx will be hosting. The fact that you even bothered to come to 2p2 and respond to some of the questions prospect players have already puts you way ahead of other managers.

I can only hope to expect a similar experience once the room goes live.

That being said, as I am sure you are already aware, any details that you could provide on this room would be greatly appreciated.

Yah that's the sort of limit action I'm looking for.

I'm happy to see that you're able to post here, Ari.

Congrats! And please do keep us all updated on what is being planned.

I live in Middlesex County, NJ...and I took a test drive to Parx a couple of weeks ago. It took me 50 minutes to get there. I usually play @ Borgata which takes me 1:35. A 1 1/2 hour savings in total drive time is huge....and easily covers the approximate 2.5x toll cost.

I wouldn't hesitate to drive to Parx to play 3-4 hours...as where now I might not take the ride to AC if I only had a limited time to play.

I just hope this room is well run and has a nice choice of games...with a fair rake. I usually play 2/5 and occasionally take a shot @ 5/10...but I also play PLO & Omaha hi-lo for a change once in a while.

And speaking of tolls......some type of toll reimbursement plan would be a great idea to keep the NJ players happy.

Can't wait to check out the new room!

Update on Philadelphia area casinos / poker rooms:

I was at Harrahs Chester last weekend and had a chance to walk through the new poker room (under construction) and it seems like it may be nice. A little cramped if it gets full but should be an action filled poker room imo. It is on the second level with the simulcast room (opposite side from the track) but you can come in thru the parking garage and it's a straight path to the poker room. There is a snack bar on the same level (The Copper Mug) which has your typical burgers, cheesesteaks and fries etc. I spoke with a manager who said they are hoping for a July 4th weekend opening but no definite date yet.

I was also at Parx about two weeks ago and was told by an employee that the poker room won't be open until at least September maybe even later. No indication as to the number of tables but he did confirm that the room will be in the old building by the track.

Sugarhouse is not even due to open until september so no good info on their room yet.

We are targeting for an early October opening. As far as specifics for the room, I will have more concrete answers as we get closer to October.

Thank you for all of your feedback.

Where on your website can you find out information on the poker room and the games/tournaments that you will be offering?

I went to Harrah's last weekend too. Never knew Chester was such a dump. The sports bar wasn't very good, which I ate at because the buffet looked laughably overpriced.

I guess Sugarhouse won't be having anything until Christmas at best?
Good God...one of these places open already.

Don't just wish, contact the PA gaming commission and request that razz be added to the list of approved 7-card stud variants.
