Live game updates with waiting lists on their website would be awesome.

I have only played about 1.5 hours where it was truly dry.

Not to mention I95 is 4 mins down the road, so someone could mug you and by the time the cops showed up, the car would be half way down I95.

ARI if your reading this... This should be your number one concern to push to your employers. table size, chip colors, smoking are second hand to someone getting robbed or killed in your parking lot. Cause that will kill your action at Parx East faster then you know it. I think a permiter fence is the main issue. Also maybe an emergency phone in the parking lot. Or security at the exit to escort you to your car. I saw security driving around with their windows up. They wouldnt be able to even hear you scream for help if you were in trouble.

On a positive note.. your waitresses are fire. keep that up!
I totally agree. Unfortunatley in these desperate times, robberies and shootings in the Philly area are a everyday issue, retail stores get hit for a lot less money than a 2/5 buy in, and saftey in my opinion is defintly an issue. Just recently a patron of sugarhouse was followed home and robbed for less than 2k. Walking into the dark parking alot alone, i defintly feel vulnerable, and anyone who is not aware, is a air head. I am just a cautious person, and I'm always aware of my surroundings, I think of the worst that can happen, but a little more sercutiy presense in the lot would be a good idea, and something they need to get done.

Has anyone checked their food and drinks comps via the parxcasino.com web site? I've played a total of nine hours and I don't see what I earned on the my.parx page.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

I have been to PARX three times so far (once on the weekend and twice on the weekdays). Just wanted to give my two cents on the room.

Pros:

1. Very professional floor person. They seem to really care about treating their customers correctly.
2. Good game selection. I think having the 4-8 limit as the lowest limit was a good idea based on the number of tables.
3. Competent dealers. I expected the dealers to be imcompetent because of the new room but this wasn't the case. A lot of dealers already had experience and the novice dealers were holding their own.
4. Lots of room between the tables. The poker room felt spacious.
5. The waitresss! Hot!!

Cons:
1. The long skinny elevator to the second floor is not really what you call a grand entrance but this is minor.
2. The room is little bit dark side. They could install a few more lights.
3. Parking lot security in the evening. Please have a police patrol car in the parking lot.

Suggestions:
Additional to the suggestions above, I think once the room expands, please spread 2-4 limit. My wife who is a casual player only plays 2-4 so I wouldn't be visiting PARX if my wife also want to play on the same day as I do. I think there are many others in the same situation (if not a wife, then friends, parents, siblings, you get the picture)

Also after the room expands, you should break up the sign up area. Right now, there tends to be a line at the sign-up. Consider having 2 sign up area (such as limit and no-limit or low stakes and high stakes)

I'm a 5-10 no limit player. Right now the 5-10 players are split between PARX and Harrahs'. Please have a promotion to attract the 5-10 players to PARX such as lower time rake and etc. Once the 5-10 players visit PARX once, I think they'll tend to keep coming. Also, please tell the dealers not to blink the players in BRAVO at the 5-10 table because we're paying time rather than rake.

Consider having a live game update on your website similar to what Delaware Park and Borgata has.

I didn't get a chance to meet Ari yet but will make it a point next time I'm there. Keep up the good work, Ari!

My friends boyfriend was at Sugarhouse recently. He won $3500 playing BJ. He called a friend in the bathroom and told him about it. 2 guys overheard him. They followed him out, followed him over the bridge into Jersey, back to his apartment where they got out and jumped him in the parking lot. I told him he was so dumb. You NEVER, NEVER, NEVER talk about your winnings.

I am so paranoid when I win. I park at the surface lot at the Borgata. Win or lose I always leave looking like I lost a lot of money. I know it sounds dumb, but it makes me feel better lol.

I got a sandwich in the cafe near the horses on the first floor and was unable to use my comps because I was told that the comp dollars don't actually get added to your card until the end of each month. Kind of annoying, but I guess it gives people incentive to come back for another trip, so that's cool.

I, too, get nothing when I login on the parx website, but I'm expecting it to update on December 1st when the comps allegedly go onto my card.

As for the 2/4 vs 4/8 LHE debate, here's a random idea... could the room get one of those .5/1 through 2/4 HU LHE machines that the Bellagio has? If so, would that help or hurt the lack of live 2/4 LHE games? How would it affect the traffic and economy for the 4/8 and other LHE games?

There is an escalator on the left side of the room you walk into goes right up to the poker room

They have their IT working on a live update I have been told.

I think you may have missed some stuff, there was an 8/16 going since at least 3, and a 15/30 was running by 7:15.

When you guys have security escort you to your car, do you tip them? If so, how much? Just wondering because odds are I will ask for an escort until they do something about the current situation. Thanks.

Last night I was leaving the poker room with around 4500 in my pocket, came with 1000.... won 2k at bj in the casino, and beat the 1/2 nl game for 1500.... didnt feel too safe walking out to my car at 3am... so I got security to escort me out.... Gave the guy 15 bucks just because he seemed like a really cool fella. but generally, 5-10 bucks is standard imo.

Yep - and I left the 8 game to sit when they opened the O8 game. When I left a few minutes ago, it was still going, as was the 15.

Yeah, exactly...the best part of the BBJ is the attraction of the casual players.

We should let most people know (out of towners) that Parx is in a better area though - much better than Sugar House or Harrah's. That being said, I haven't been inside yet, only driven by it several times...but you're probably right, just seeing it from the street, it does seem pretty wide open.

From what I've seen and heard, the vast majority of the robberies typically happen off the casino property...people getting followed to their homes, then robbed, etc. Asking for security to follow you out to the parking lot will just make those people aware that you are walking out with a lot of money, imo.

^^^ I have a permit to carry, and keep a .380 in my locked glove box in my car..... so if them certain individuals were to follow me to my house, they would be in for a big surprise. So therefore, in my case, the security escort is a good idea seeing how you are not allowed to carry firearms into the casino or poker room.

Eh, I really don't think all this worry is necessary. I am not too worried about Bensalem (or N.E.) philly in general... This may be because I am from the city (the city, city) but methinks a well lit parking lot will go a long way and a lot of the worry is overblown. The most important thing is just having your wits about you and keeping your eyes open. Avoiding a situation before it happens is key (IE: if you feel unsafe or like someone may be trying to rob you, maybe grab a security guard to walk with you, or something)

Re: PARX Poker Thread

We walk out of the building and are approaching to where the handicap parking lot is. When we get like 20 feet out the doors, a car parked in the handicap lot with its lights off whips out of its parking spot and starts driving towards where the shuttle bus departs (basically where me and friend are at).

We walk back inside and go up to get a security guard to come back down with us, walk us out to car etc. As we are coming back down the escalator we see 3 kids (who im not necessarily saying are the alleged robbers) who just looked a little sketchy, like they were out of place. When we get back outside, the car that looked like it was beelining for us is parked directly in front of the building with no people in it.
