Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

No, it is 10/20 fixed limit Big O, not 5 card PLO8. (it is no cap, but only because it's fixed limit so who cares.)

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

Parx should take the bad beat jackpot dollar at $30 on the 1/3 NLH game, and $50 on the 2/5 NLH game. This would solidify Parx as #1 on the east coast, since Borgata has made awful changes to their room.

All the Philly area and AC rooms would be better off if you and maximus215 (oh wait, you're the same person) stopped playing in all of them since all you do is complain about the rake at every one of them! If you can't afford to play the game and tip the dealer, just stay home and play online!

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

Is there a shortage of dealers, and/or still capacity resteictions? No other conceivable reasons why it should take 3hr on a Tuesday to get a seat when half the tables are inactive.

Edit: Nevermind, I read the previous page of posts.

Yes, there has been a well documented shortage of dealers, mentioned in this very thread. Capacity has actually gone up recently from 7 handed to 9 handed. So they are doing everything they can with what they have.

And fwiw, Tuesday afternoon / evening is one of the busiest nights of the week.

I would also suggest using the Bravo app to see how many people are on the list before you even go.

Plan ahead, call ahead and get on the list.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason why Tuesdays tend to be so packed at Parx ? Are certain promotions going on ? Thanks

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

It's the night the big games run. I'm not sure why it was Tuesday and not Mon or Wed, but once it settled that way, it became more self fulfilling. Parx may have started tailoring promotions to suit the player demand, but really Tuesdays are packed enough they don't need special promos to bring in players then.

Much of the player pool lives in or near Philly. During the week, on school nights, people want to play closer to home, get home that night, and go to work the next day. So weekday games are more acceptable in the Philly area rooms. Then they tend to move to AC on weekends, especially in the summer. Although even that is maybe blurring a little especially in COVID times.

For whatever reason, it's the day that all the high roller games happen.
Nothing special promotion wise.

I think there was a whale or two that wanted to play on Tuesday at the old Sands in Bethlehem IIRC. The game was moved to Parx and the day has stuck ever since.

Hi all ... I've been reading through my posts these past few weeks, and, man, I'm an a-hole. Just wanted to say I'm incredibly sorry to anyone I might have offended (I posted this on the Philly Live forum as well).

This will be my last post, as I really need to work on being a better human.

Good luck everyone!

$2-$5 NLH game here is lame-o! Yall should switch to $5-$10 NLH with a $500 min buy-in, $1000 max buy-in. That would be super sensational, baby!

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

For what is worth, yesterday there was a discussion about the lack of dealers at the table and the dealer said that ``they are missing around 40 to 50 people'' and that ``they do have classes but there just arent many people''. Of course, pure hearsay, but it seems that this is not going to get much better very soon.

Do you have any posts that aren't about the rake or complaining that things are too expensive?

As of 7/14, you can now call in 2 hours ahead of checking in. I highly recommend using the full time, wait lists have been horrendous.

Bad Beat is up to 480k... I'm due!

Does this usually run on the weekends? I played Saturday afternoon and was a complete fish but enjoyed it.

Anyone who was there able to confirm that the tornado missed and/or that nobody was hurt? It hit the Lowes that's maybe a mile and a half away pretty hard, and would have been heading in the general direction of the casino. Hope everyone's ok!

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

I was at Parx yesterday.

Luckily the wait line @ 4:00pm was 45 for 1-3.

Made one lap of the circuit coz I haven't been there since the poker room moved from the Racing Grandstand and left...

Luckily for me the storm was about to get going and I didn't hear about it until I got to ACity.
