For those curious... I'd say something like 70% of players are still wearing masks today. That will probably drop rapidly over the next week, though. Staff is also permitted to go maskless now, perhaps there are exceptions depending on the position.
Playing there today. It takes a lot of getting used to when not wearing a mask, kept trying to remove my mask while taking my first few sips of coffee. Now when I play in another room that requires masks I'll be trying to sip it through my mask oh well.
There's only about one or two player on each table not wearing a mask, and I only saw one dealer not wearing one. What's even more crazy is there was a player at my table covering only his mouth but not his nose (at least he won't get yelled at for it anymore). It's also alil whack that they're still cleaning seats when players leave so at this rate it's gonna be a while for table changes and barrier removals.
i've heard from multiple dealers and floors about the plexiglass being removed soon. some say June 1st, some say July 1st, but they all say they can't just remove it because they needed to order new felt because the plexiglass mounts put holes in the existing felt.
they seem to all agree that they will go to 8-handed when the plexi is removed.
Went last night for the first time in a while. Way better without mandatory masks. Much better vibes all around. Probably 50/50 overall mask/no mask. But you could see even those who started wearing masks loosened up a little compared to just a few months ago. Like Johnny above said the word all around was the glass is coming down soon, heard June 1st as well but might take longer due to re-felting of the tables. I actually thought I heard it was going back to business as normal with 9 handed tables.

I see that even at its most busy they are still operating with 30 or so tables, at max. Is that still because of Covid rules, or are they are really struggling with dealers? I.e., does anyone have an insight if they expect to go to 48 tables again at that point too?
Once they started running it, four card became a thing of the past unfortunately so depends what you want. I miss four card but once you bring in 5 that tends to be what action players want and it sticks.

Ya its taking over in maryland/dc area... just a matter of time before it spreads north
I heard from a shift mgr that the plexi was coming down and returning to 9 handed "at the beginning of the month". I didn't think to ask whether that meant June 1 or July 1, but I'm assuming the former.
i'm just not sure their timeline is realistic. they have to refelt every table and they haven't started yet (as of yesterday at 5pm). are they planning on spreading some 7 handed games while spreading some 9 handed games?
it's unfortunate though, because 7 handed is ridiculously awesome
