How are the games? (2/5 NL)

What are the best days to play on? Is it true weekdays have better action than weekends as there are 10/10 games on Tuesdays?

Buddy and I are back from Europe looking to start a poker house in the Bensalem/Parx area.

We are both 5/10 NLHE regs looking for 3 or 4 other to have a fun summer and grind both online and live. Shoot a text if interested.

You would probably be better off opting for something on the Jersey Shore in the Summer. Especially if a fun Summer and online poker are priorities.

A 10/10 reg would be better off grinding at Parx IMO as that game has gone everyday since reopening. 5/10 only really goes Fri-Sun at Borgata and maybe Thursday night and is shorthanded and usually breaks early Thursday night.

However, I agree I would rather be playing at the shore during the summer months. Depends on if you are willing to give up some hourly to grind 2/5 at Borgata. It sounds like he would make more playing at Parx given online background.

Wth did all the dealers go? The wait mid day during the week is brutal even with calling ahead.

LOL, Mods -- how you just gonna delete my comment? Doesn't that seriously undermine the whole intent of a forum?

Allow me to summarize my previous post, perhaps in a more G-rated fashion:

Parx has mean floor people.

Your post violated our rule on privacy (naming a floor). You also closed with "suck my dick" which I would have deleted on its own, without the privacy violation. I have no problem with you voicing your complaints otherwise. Just follow the forum rules.

I was at Parx twice in the past week. Most of the floor were poopyheads.

I disagree they try their best but they are not the greatest. I find the dealers to be good but it all starts at the top.

It’s a service industry during a pandemic that caters to a segment of society that was perpetually cantankerous pre-pandemic. I can only imagine that their days are filled with people bitching and complaining about masks and sanitation and restrictions, all while they have to enforce it because their entire job is video taped 24/7/365.

And while I’m sure you were a sweetheart in your mind in your story (doubtful, given your first post), they have probably been dealing with everyone’s **** all day, for the past several months

I was there yesterday and everyone was nice to me. I’m by no means a reg, so it’s not like I have a personal relationship with any of them

You make valid points. But I am typically not one of the malcontents, and I'm certainly someone who has never caused an issue in any poker room over the course of 20+ years playing in them.

My experience was one of lazy and dickish floor staff. One person rolled her/his eyes at me when I asked where I was on a list. Another straight up shooed me away when I asked if it's possible to start a game.

I wasn't pestering them, and I certainly wasn't at all rude. I simply asked them to do their jobs.

When I was there playing one day last week, I don't remember the exact day, someone approached a supervisor behind me near the middle podium with a strong attitude something to the effect like you have all these people waiting, you're in the service industry, you should do your jobs and open more games. And yes the supervisor didn't bend over backwards to accommodate the guest who then turned around and marched out of the room like a little kid in a temper tantrum. I then turned around and spoke to the supervisor saying something to the effect of don't worry about that guy bc It was a day where the lists were extremely long, probably around 2pm. Was that you?

I was there once over the weekend (Saturday, I think) and on Tuesday, but not during last week.

I never once mentioned them being in the service industry, nor did I ask about opening more games. I understand what a list means and how they have zero control over it. And I certainly never stormed or marched off like a child.

I asked regular questions, like, "Hey, can you tell me where I am on the list for ____?" and I was greeted with an eyeroll as if I asked a terrible question. So you're aware, two of the lists I was on were long where my initials/name weren't showing on the board, so I couldn't check there.

Instead of trying to determine my identity (not sure why that's relevant), how about focusing on the floor's behavior and how it was flat-out rude and uncalled for.

regardless of if it was her/him or not, Kittens seems to fail to understand that "simply asking [the floor] to do their jobs" is something that often gets brought to the floors attention every day. s/he seems to think s/he's the only person to have asked the floor to open a table, so it's not a big deal. but in reality, there are like 100 people waiting to play most of the time, and the floors probably get asked to open new tables every 4 minutes by someone else. (this is not even going into the self serving douchey-ness of asking the floor to open a table for the stakes you're waiting for, because '**** everyone else, so long as i get mine' mentality)

I'm guessing Kittens never worked in the service industry. when i was in high school/college, i worked in a liquor store and about 75% of the time when something didn't scan, the jackoff would usually say something along the lines of "i guess it's free then". it doesn't sound that bad, and it really isn't, but when you hear the same stupid thing 80x a day, day in and day out, it gets super annoying. Kittens just can't seem to wrap his/her brain around that idea.

Nope, not me. I'm 51 with a longish beard and gray (ok white) hair.

Anyway, I'm going to stop with the posts and move on. I apologize to the floor I originally named, but I will stick to my plan of not returning to play here.

Good luck all. May all your cards be live and your presidents not be Republican.

Wow I'm 99% sure it was you. I was actually there on Saturday and I think that's the day it happened (my friend met me there on Saturday and I remember him coming up to me in that same seat where I saw it happen).

From what I can remember, because I was in a hand when it all started, you were yelling at him for not doing his job and telling him to do his job and open up more games I think you motioned to the board saying all those people are waiting, something to that effect. I think it was a supervisor who then said I'm in the service industry don't you think I would do it if I could - I don't remember all the exact words but the conversation I had with the supervisor after you left was some people can't understand the room has no idea how many players are gonna show up on any given day.

They do their best to accommodate us so at least give them a pat on the back for that. Your description matches almost 100%. I could be wrong but if that was you next time you come to a poker room and there's a long list with no dealers available you should be mad at yourself for not coming in earlier instead of an employee who has no control over the situation.

Thinking of going back to casino now that I am vaccinated. Noticed on Bravo that wait list at Parx is always long. How much is this due to playing 7 handed vs 9 handed, Wind Creek room is still closed. or lack of dealers, etc or all of the above. The other casino is Philly are 20 - 30 minutes longer drive. Is it easy to wait at the Parx or go with the long ride. Thanks

it's more lack of dealers/not being to be able to use all of the tables
7 vs 9 does play a role too though of course.

7 handed live is awesome

all of the above, plus they usually have every available table going weekends. go with the long ride, unless you get there early its faster to drive to rivers/live
