ultimately dealers should be speaking up about this, imo, and not players.
Everybody should just flip there cards up. Simple solution

everything isn't always this cut and dry.

V who misdeclaired was in seat 9 and was last to act. it was checked to him and he just flipped his cards over and said straight. he didn't check and play a waiting game.

it took the entire table that was paying attention, and the dealer, a solid couple of seconds to process that he had T high. certainly enough time for someone to muck in error

Yea I understand. I had a guy last weekend that kept throwing his ships basically almost to the To the other side of the table every time he bet. **** was annoying. I was in seat 2 and he was in 7. I swear his chips went to me a couple times. I had to keep telling him to stop splashing the pot. He didn't understand.

In casinos I have worked in before, it was a rule against misdeclaring your hand at showdown. The fact that he showed his cards when doing so wouldn't have changed our enforcement. I suggest you ask a Parx floor person if they have a similar rule.

Have any of you played in the Thursday survivor tournament? Just curious how long it takes. Was thinking about playing tonight

skill wise, it's 1/3. it doesn't change much from place to place. too many players limp/call or limp/fold. you'll see a lot of flops 4+ ways, but people are generally playing their hands and not their ranges

ex, if a V raises with QQ and gets any callers and the flop is Kxx. they will generally check 2-3 streets, even if all the other players check. they may put 1 bet in, but if they get called, they basically shut down.

ultimately, if you are gonna buy in for $500 at 1/3, i'd probably just buy in for $500 at 2/5. the only caveat to that is sometimes 2/5 players will be waiting and play 1/3 and from my experience, those players like to show off how awesome they are and will give money away.
Thank you for the advice. I played 1-3 and it was a great in-between. If you are going to sit with 300 at 1-2, definitely take that to the 1-3 table.

For those who maybe do not follow Parx Poker Twitter account, the poker room will not reopen for a while... : https://twitter.com/parxpokerroom/st...800904/photo/1

Ouch that is depressing. Weird surrounding states like MD can open rooms but not in PA. Like the Parx room and hope it comes back sometime soon.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

Mdlive feels like a different world from philly, even though its only 2.5 hours. A.c. and delaware park have no poker, not shocked parx/pa going slow. Sucks.. difference between cards and chips vs just chips in pit changing hands frequently seems marginal. As the distancing( which in my experience in casinos over last couple weeks has been poorly maintained, if at all. Surely from parx perspective will be less employees and more slots going =more money.

The PGCB mandating poker can't open initially is one thing, but replacing poker tables with slot machines is another. That's not a quick switch, they need to be supported to the floor, hard wired, etc., I hope I'm wrong but taking the tables out is going to be a lot easier than putting them back in and that's if they don't decide to leave the slots there long term. It's pretty much every serious poker players fear, having their room replaced with higher revenue slot machines.

This may be a good thing is disguise. Maybe they reopen Parx West. Bigger room easier to social distance. They will not abandon poker. That much I'm sure of. They have too good of a reputation and actually hold the record for most 1/2 games on the east coast. (41 games I believe)
They make a killing on the Big Stax series. I'd love to see it go back to West.

well they would be pretty stupid if they just wasted the space, especially when they can only have a limited amount of players in the casino.

I disagree. I like the new room a lot better for several reasons.
But everyone has a preference.

The PGCB already announced that when casinos open state wide, poker isn't allowed to open yet, so we're waiting on the commission's approval. However that announcement was made on May 19th, but it's still on their website

7G.Poker Rooms● Poker rooms are not authorized to operate due to players handling cards and chips. Poker room operations will be re-examined based upon changing CDC and PA DOH guidance.

https://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/fi..._Protocols.pdf (page 7)

PS if we're waiting on the DOH commissioner, Dr. Lavine's green light, we might be waiting till hell freezes over.

Can’t be a good sign for the return of poker at Parx when I just got an email from them about the new “super slot showroom” next to the xcite center, aka the former poker room...

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

Several dealers I know have mentioned that poker management has assured them they will be reopening the room as soon as PA allows it. Though of course even if that is true (which I believe, since I know them), who knows for sure whether management will actually follow through. Or maybe they'll reopen in Parx East again, who knows.

I'm sure they will, since they're not pressed for the space as much as say an AC property. The only problem I see is these spikes around the country are only going to delay the gaming board's green light. I've been playing in MD/DC area which is also starting to spike, and at 5pm they closed all the bars on the property. I hope casinos aren't next again.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

None of the dealer friends I have are indicating anything has changed, AFAIK they are all still planning to return. Poker is still not approved by the PGCB, so it's not like they could reopen but have chosen not to.

First we have to wait for PGCB to approve poker reopening, then we have to see whether Parx (and other rooms) prioritize reopening the room, or continue to use the space for socially distanced table games and slots. Management has indicated they plan to reopen the poker room when they are able, but we'll have to wait and see if it happens and on what schedule.

This is what the PGCB said on Aug 25:
Quote:
“There has been no alteration to the casino reopening protocols released by the Gaming Control Board in May in which poker rooms were not authorized to operate. At the same time, this guideline can be reexamined based on health experts’ guidance. Should casinos wish to explore reopening a casino room, it would need to provide plans to do so safely which would be reviewed by the Board on a case-by-case basis.”
