Does the gift shop have anything valuable, or just knick-knacks emblazoned with Parx logos?
I will have a few hundred, so definitely more than a dinner and drinks' worth.
I don't know the options @Parx for spending them, but I have regularly purchased comp dollars from players at Foxwoods, Taj Mahal and Borgata. I have paid as high as $.80 at FW to pay my hotel bill, saving me $200-$300 a trip.
Once I paid a pit player who had $30,000 worth of FW comps 20 cents on the dollar (he was desperate to get the 6K to get back at the Asian table games). I purchased a $28,000.00 3 carat diamond pinkie ring for my husband and a pair of gold hoops for me for the 6K. The diamond in that ring is spectacular. I also saved thousands using comps to purchase goods in FW luggage store.
At the Taj, I used to buy luxury handbags 25 cents on the dollar with purchased player comps. I would go pick out the items I wanted, once a gorgeous Coach leather carry on bag that I still have, other designer bags, etc. Then the player with the comps would come to the store to finish the transaction. Taj would overprice everything by at least 50% so I still made a good deal at 25 cents per dollar. Also I would have my family come in from Philly and host up to 30 people at their Italian restaurant or at their expensive Sunday buffet in their gourmet restaurant with purchased comps.
Make sure you know exactly what can be purchased with comps and then get the message out, only to players you trust, that you have some up for sale. Btw, management frowns on this black market operation hence "only to players you trust".
Good luck at the tables.
