Cashing out from the 6-12 game the older guy cashier could NOT count the blue chips. I had to help him every step. Clearly had never seen them before. I wonder if some of the poker specific staff got whacked in the move.

The cage staff is different from the poker room staff, but there were some staffing changes that happened around the time of the move I've heard.

Anecdotally (so take with a grain of salt), I heard there were some policy changes and uniform changes which some poker staff didn't like. There were complaints made on social media which resulted in some terms. There was also some friction between the poker staff and table games staff which resulted in some things being said, which resulted in some terms.

At the end of the day, you got a new cashier. It happens, even without room moves.

Aside, I have found the temp to be perfect, neither too hot nor too cold. I tend to prefer it colder, though.

I also noticed servers coming by every 10-15 minutes. Very good. Just a small sample though.

Are the waitresses still the best looking on the East coast? Yeah? We're good then.

I would put them up against the whole country! Even the big casinos in Vegas.

I got some crab fries with my comp card. I confirm that it works!

A note on food:

* Tableside food is still available, but the menu is much smaller than it used to be, and the kitchen is now only open noon through 10pm/midnight, depending on the day.

* You can no longer order food from outside restaurants and have it delivered

* You can no longer even bring in food from outside establishments. I assume this would mainly refer to larger bins of food, like a full dinner, and not to like a DD coffee and cruller, but dunno for sure. (I don't also know whether they will try to stop you from bringing in snacks and whatnot from your home - I assume not, but didn't think to ask.)

* You can go get food from any of the other Parx restaurants and bring it tableside yourself. Comps should be usable at all of them I believe, and they spend 1-for-1.

In a word, these changes stink, but they are the new food rules so we'll all just have to live with them. I'll update the FAQ again to incorporate them.

Stink? Total joke. You can't accommodate a customer in the morning or late night with food. It's funny how all over the country that I play that Los Angeles and San Diego do it the best when it comes to food. Guess Parx is taking the stand that poker players are second class citizens. I bet the high roller at the slots would never have to leave his machine to eat.

I've brought coffee from DD in with no problem to the new room, as well as a bottle of water. No one said anything to me. So I'm guessing it's food only.

The more I play in the new room the more I realize how good we had it in the old room :-(

I agree that LA rooms have great food. (Never played in SD.) . I wish more rooms took a similar approach.

But LA is a bit of a weird fish, since they have had public card rooms (originally with just poker, and no pit games) for way longer than any other place, so they've learned to cater to the poker crowd, rather than poker being an add-on to the usual suite of table games (which bring in more money). Having said that, even the LA rooms have been cutting back on the quality and raising the cost of their food offerings in the past few years. Still, it's what other rooms should aspire to.

As for comparing poker players to slot players, let's be a little realistic here:

1- Poker is and has been "second class" to pit games in every casino everywhere, with the possible exception of LA/California, because pit games are more profitable to casinos than poker games.

2- I'd guess you're right, a high roller at slots probably would get whatever food he wanted brought right to him via a call to his casino host. Having said that, I have literally never seen anyone at a slot machine with slot-side food. A high roller at slots would typically want to get a (comped) meal at a real restaurant, which is exactly what poker players get too, we just earn comps slower, and don't usually get a host who will set it up for us.

3- A low roller at slots gets less than every poker player, since they cannot order food from a passing server and have it delivered to them at all.

I am still spending money and tipping your staff. I should be treated like anyone else. I guess I shouldn't complain you can't even get food at Foxwoods. I knew when this move was announced that most of this would follow.

Borgata is worse. No food at all unless you're playing in the high limit area. No table service and no outside food allowed. I've snacked on nuts and stuff but try and bring a sandwich in there. Smh

Like 1/2+ of the table would think nothing of licking their hands clean right before throwing chips into the pot.

I'm good with less food.

Plus people routinely slows the game down because they can barely play poker at a competent speed

I don't disagree with you. I used to eat corn dogs on a stick at Harrahs at the table years ago. That's it. Disgusting to see someone touch chips/cards then pick their burger up. I'll step away and eat, but there option of a snack like nuts is nice.

Twice a year I play 4 days straight at Commerce. I also play many hours in San Diego at Sycuan and 7 Mile, everyone at the table eats and I never felt anything on the cards. That is such a myth in fact All my years playing in socal and Vegas I never saw the game being slowed or cards having to be changed because of food. In fact only time there was an issue was this idiot pyscho girl that plays at OE at Parx. Forget her name and she bought soup from the chinese place and placed it on the table. After warnings from me, the whole table and dealer she refused to use a side table and of course it spilled and broke the game.

And congrats for all your years in socal and Vegas and never seeing a game being slowed down because of food.... only to follow it up with an anecdote about the game being slowed down by food.

I could count multiple times per session that the game is slowed down from somebody not realizing action is on them because they're eating.

Don't get me wrong, I don't give a **** or lose any sleep over it, but to say it "never" (pretty strong wording, only Sith deal in absolutes) happens is lolbad

Imho, cell phones are the main culprit for slowing games down.

The most disgusting thing I've seen in a casino was a guy who ordered shellfish, ate it with his hands, and licked his hands clean to handle his cards and chips. I wanted to die.

I saw a guy at Bellagio pick his nose with no shame. Another player told him it was disgusting and called the floor. The floor asked him to go wash his hands. He complied.

This should seriously be an enforceable rule. Not Parx specific, but it's sickening how many people I see think they are doing people a favor by sneezing into their hands and then just continue playing without going to wash them. I've come templated saying things to some people but usually it's probably -ev since you never know how they will react even to a simple "you think you could have some courtesy and go wash your hands".... inb4 we are in the hospital from the flu due to habitual hand sneezer

i mean, i'm mid 30s, when we grew up, we were taught to cover our mouths with our hands. i have young kids, they're taught to sneeze into their elbows, which makes much more sense from a standpoint of touching stuff.

what i'm getting at is: it's just more of a sign of the times thing. still disgusting, because once you remind a 4 y/o to sneeze into their elbow 100x/day all winter long, you tend to notice it all the time, but it is what it is. you're not going to get a 60+ y/o dude to change.
