Are there a lot of different players coming and going? Are there absolute maniacs often? I'm just assuming there is some number of players who make good money at this game, and this guy at my table basically said 'buy in for a rack and just play'.

It is mostly regulars, with some random, but I am not going to describe them more than that, since it is my game. Agree that the beat way to feel it out is to play.

You mean you aren't giving me a blueprint on how to best exploit the game? I thought we were buddies, man. But it could be a while before I play it anyway but I watch online 15 30 action often and its a handful of very good players.

Can you tell me minimum buy in, number of raises to cap, and maybe the average buy ins you see? Also, any other unusual rules, stipulations, quirks, whatever I should know about the game's mechanics? I mentioned you because you seem to be the unofficial authority on Parx.

150 min, 3 raise (4 bet) max unless straddled, most buy in for 1-2 racks, but reloads are plentiful. Pretty typical for the limit.

Before 2017 I will sit at least once at the 15 30. I just need to meditate on the very real possibility I won't win for, one reason, or another.

Everyone has to meditate on that possibility every time they sit down.

For sure, no doubt, but losing a few racks in one session is far from losing a few 100BB 1/2 buy ins.

It would be borderline 'shot taking' playing this game and despite most labeling it as 'midstakes' if I can win
or lose 2-3k in a few hours of playing it is high stakes to me. But whatever, it doesn't have to be a huge complex philosophical process with enlightenment waiting at the very end -- you play the game, you try to win but might not.

Hey, saw on Tuesday (a lot of people say Tuesday is busy for Parx) there were two 15 30 and one 40 80... Is two 15 30 tables unusual for any given night?

Tuesday is the big limit poker night for pard so not unusual to see then.

Tues is pretty much the only day you will see two 15-30 games going for any extended period of time.

Been thinking of adding a limit game to my arsenal and thought the 6-12 OE game sounds interesting and runs a lot. Has anyone played it?

1) Is the rake beatable?

2) How tough is the game? The one time I watched it it seemed like the average age of the table was about 55-60. Makes me think the game isn't attracting new players and if that's the case I'm wondering if the sharks have eaten all the fish by now.

PS I don't know stud hi lo yet which is why I'm asking before spending time learning it.

It's not raked, it's $4 per hh time charge.

It's mainly regs, but that doesn't mean it's a tough game.

I play it when I am waiting for my 15 seat. It's a fun game for me.

It can occasionally be tight/nitty but is not tough. When it's good, it can be very good, the kill keeps it interesting and the time charge is reasonable. The fact that it runs almost 24 hrs with multiple tables is a plus, I'd definitely play it more if lived close because I enjoy high low. I personally prefer the 10/20 with half kill high low mix bc of higher earning potential but generally there are better players there (still many bad ones but overall it's tougher bc it's a niche game that can intimidate newbs) and some of the regs can be very agitating (re: how the game is run). If for fun is biggest qualifier 6-12 oe wins.

The time charge is very beatable. As mentioned its full of regs and can be nitty sometimes but it is still very beatable. I'd say there is like a 40-50 player pool but then like dinesh we get the occasional interloper that is waiting for a bigger game...this normally juices the game pretty good and we can have several kill pots in a row.

Any recommendation getting to Parx from NYC? I don't own a car and would prefer not to rent. Also, are there any other casino's that are easier to get to from NYC? Thanks and appreciate the help.

A.c. is probably easier and sands in Bethlehem is closer

Hey does anyone know if the 30 BB battle as part of BigStax has been discontinued? I saw it listed the last time they ran BigStax and liked the structure the best of all of them but I don't see it listed this time. Did it not get a lot of people and they discontinued it?

This is an abbreviated Big Stax due to the proximity to Christmas so you won't see a lot of the events that normally run. I'm sure things will be back to normal for the February series.

There are no sharks at 6/12.

And Stud 8, IMO, is the best game. Have fun.
