That's Parx tournament policy, they're not supposed to say the amount of the bet unless asked by the player who is facing action. The dealers are supposed to only say "bet" "raise" "all-in" "fold" or "call" unless asked to clarify the bet.

Yea I think that's a bad policy. Whenever I asked which was often bc im color blind and had a bad seat (wanna say I was 8 so far away from view of middle of the pot)the dealer wouldn't be too quick in responding an amount. I feel dealers should say raise amount as it makes action much more clear. A lot of players will throw out say a 500 chip for just a call so can be confusing.

Also there I didn't like how it was hard to also get players to count there stack. If I ask someone how much they have again I shouldn't have to just be shown the stack and not be given a count. These are comical gripes but just my opinion.

Is a big badugi game normal for Tuesdays? Might convince me to pop up there next week.

That's the first time I've seen a badugi-only game running there. FWIW, it wasn't a 50-100 limit badugi game, it was 50-100 pot limit badugi and there was only two people playing.

Interesting. That's way out of my league in that case. Thanks.

re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

I'm going to be in NYC in a few weeks and would like to play some poker a few nights while I'm there. I'll likely be able to get away for maybe 1-2 nights and would be looking to play ~20 hours of 2/5 or 5/10 NLHE.

Where would be the best spot to play out of Parx, Foxwoods and Borgata?

Specifically -
1) Would there be much difference in softness of games at these stakes in these casinos? Same question for 2/5 PLO.
2) I assume min/max buy-in amounts and rake in OP are up to date?
3) Is there any discount/deal on hotel rooms for poker players?
4) Is there any state or federal tax witheld for tournament winnings if I do happened to play a tournament (I know Parx has a series on while I'm there)?
5) Any other relevant details that would be pertinent.

Thanks. I've xposted this in the three threads for these casinos.

Anyone living near parx need a flat mate?

Grinding parx and borgata live games for a few months, before moving to Canada. 👍

I can only speak to Borgata and Parx. I have thousands of hours at each casino. More at Borgata than Parx. I would chose Parx.

Parx games play bigger. Yes a harder place to play but a higher EV overall. Parx 1/2 plays close to Borgata 2/5. Very rarely are you seeing $7 raises at Parx 1/2. More like $12-$15 average. The 2/5 is a great game. There is no step between that and 10/10 so it plays deep at times and again a tougher game to beat. The only way I recommend Borgata 2/5 is if it's a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Then it's like printing $ at Borgata against a bunch of guys with too much $ and ego to relize they should be playing 1/2.
If you're looking for PLO the 5/5 runs every day where as 2/5 PLO only runs Thu or Fri through Sunday at Borgata.

9 round vs 10 round tables at all stakes at Parx.

You're not getting any deal at Borgata for hotel rooms because of your play that trip amd it's summer in AC. Expect high rates of you're an unknown. Parx has deals $69-$100 a night with hotels within walking distance.

No tax taken out for tournament/jackpots unless you're a foriegn national at either casino. Then it's a 3rd I believe. Hope this was helpful.

Depends on your risk tolerance. Parx 5/5 PLO plays about 2x as big as 2/5 at Borg, it's more aggro and since you can't do business in multi-way pots stacks get even deeper in relation to buy-in.

If you don't mind dropping $5K quickly in case of runbad and confident in your abilities then play at Parx.

Never played at Foxwoods but from what I heard level of play in PLO games there is lol, and so is a buy-in

Cliffs:

Parx 5/5 PLO is biggest out of 3 with toughest opposition
Foxwoods 2/5 is smallest and everyone is clueless

Depends on lineup. Some days it is nitty, some days more action. Usually fun. Rarely capped even when multiway with nut nut or big draws.

A lot of people, myself included, don't want to help the opposition by possibly giving off a read/tell.

And it's not a rule that you have to count down your stack.

re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

whats the casino like during big tournaments like the stax 300? is there a lot of cash running concurrently? is it possible to get HORSE game going and what are the lowest stakes that run regularly for it?

also, for day 1d of the stax 300, how many entries can the floor hold and is it vital to get there exactly at 11 to get a seat?

thanks

There is no horse but 6/12 oe runs virtually 24 hours. 10/20 big o/ super stud 8 runs often as well. Both games have a half kill.

questions about the 75 hoe:

what's the blind/ante structure?
is there ever a kill?
is the game tough?
how consistently does it run?

It seems to run once a week on Tuesdays. It occasional runs on other weekdays, and occasionally as other mixes.

I don't think it runs with a kill. I have no idea how tough it is.

Didn't see it in the FAQ, what games are in the 15-30 mix when it runs?

Also, I don't suppose Razz/"Stud Lo" (whatever they call it) ever runs?
