I'm wondering if it's one of the older dealers exposing his cards. Many of the dealers at Parx worked there when it was used as the filming area to fake the moon landings so they are used to running scams. In fact, if you look under table 23 there's a small plaque that says "OSSFM" which is short for "One small step for man" because it's where Neil Armstrong was when he actually uttered the phrase.

------------

OK seriously. This guy guy is trolling us, right? He can't truly believe the dealers and the whole table are cheating him, can he?

Maybe he listens to Glenn Beck.

Thanks. I'll be up tonight looking to play 15-30 and start 30-60. I'd start with any number of players.

Well, 15-30 already has 2 games running. Odds are good that they'll open a 40-80 at some point too, especially if you're willing to start one short.

Only reasons it might not:
1- Big Stax starts tonight, so if all tables are full or they run out of dealers it might be hard.
2- Snowstorm's a-brewin', allegedly. That may keep some people home.

40 often goes. might be a better option than trying to start a 30

How often does the 15-30 game run besides tuesdays?
Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP Quote

My gut level guess: it runs every Mon-Wed, 95% of the time on Thurs, 80% of the time on Fri, 50% of the time on Sat (but often not until late), and not often on Sun as far as I know but I'm never there to check.

When it runs on Fri-Sun, it is often with a different set of players than in the normal weekday games.

According to their website it has run every M-F since at least December. The only weekend it started was Saturday night 2/6. It also ran Saturday 1/2, which was a game that ran from Friday night until Sunday morning.

Sorry, I've been meaning to ask, what website are you referring to? I can't find any info on historical games on the Parx website.

A long time ago, there was a guy who built a site that scraped the Live Game Report to capture this history, but it stopped working many years ago. Did you find a new one?

So I really enjoyed the Parx 300 which ran as part of the WPTDeepStacks series.

Who gets credit for the fantastic structure, Parx or the WPT? I am wondering if I should plan on visiting other WPTDeepStacks tournies at other locations or just plan on going back to Parx in the future.

i wouldn't give glantz too much credit katman.. onto my post.

apparently this is a ruling that happened at parx big stax.

JJ vs AA all in preflop. somehow the dealer MUCKS the AA before the cards are dealt. everyone sees that it was AA. the floor is called over and rules that AA has to double up the JJ? i just heard this from hearsay, i didn't actually witness this. but i've had some pretty bad rulings at this place before and it doesn't surprise me that the particular floor in question ruled it this way. one of the most apathetic and braindead floors that works here.

1. Matt Glantz does not represent Parx.

B. Protect your hand.

protect your hand once you've flipped it over and it;s in the middle of the table during an all in?

...the games are infested with good players & are not soft.
I wouldnt go as far as to say infested, but the room has certainly evolved into a somewhat grinder room. Proper table selection will still yield profitability IME since the doors opened.

Quote:
Half the people in the Parx room have traveled from NY or a similarly far distance attracted by the serious games. Semi-pro guys like an environment like that.
IME, I would say that the NY population of the room has, with out a doubt, noticably grown since opening. I would peg it @ 30% though, 50 is a bit high when talking 7/365 imo. For some reason I do see a higher percentage of NY folk playing the dailies in the past yearish er so.

Quote:
Parx is unquestionably the best run, nicest and most comfortable room in the area, but if it's Thurs-Sun I'm almost always going to Sugarhouse to play with the droolers stumbling in from center city bars.
+1 to all

But please try and keep the honeyhole as DL as poss for as long as poss..thank you in advance.

Agreed. Structures/Buy-ins were developed originally by Ari, with a sprinkling of help from, believe it or not, members of 2+2. They were later tinkered/refined slightly by Glantz and Bill I believe.

Ill be starting my summer rain soon kids... i got some eye problems I have to deal with first, someone please tell Sammy the bartender that Jonathan said hello and will be back soon..tyvm

I agree the structure was great, but they'll need to modify it if they continue to get large crowds for their future Big Stax. It's unfair for the lucky few who made the FTs of the 300 & 500 to have to play an 18+ hour day3 when 6 figures was on the line.

They either need to move the FT to a day4 or maybe change the day3 levels from 90 to 75 minutes.

Agreed. Parx drew 1500-1600 entries during the last 3 BigStax 300s and on this occasion got over 2400 entries. Pretty amazing. Part of the action was massive reentries. One guy reentered 21 times.

I was surprised that they didn't shorten the Day 3 levels. They certainly would not have been faulted if they had decided to do so. If the final 3 had not chopped then Day 3 could have easily lasted for another 6 hours. As it was it ended at about 5:30 AM.

They should cap all days to 12 hours of play,. It's ridiculous to think that anyone is playing their best after that long.

Does anyone know if the Sunday daily tournament (Deep Stack Turbo Bounty at 12:15 pm) will run on March 27th (Easter)? If so, does anyone remember if there was a good turnout last Easter Sunday?
