Drinks are not free in the poker room.

As mentioned, OE is the game that runs all the time. O8 and SuperStud/BigO run sometimes.

Because they don't make nearly as much on poker as they do on pit games.

Well, I'm not a manager in the room, so this is just guesswork, but I imagine because the cost vendor analysis didn't come out in favor of giving it away. Poker doesn't bring in a lot of revenue for the casino, and the room is usually pretty busy anyway.

When the new room opens at the stadium, maybe this will change. But sugarhouse opening and giving it away wasn't enough to change their minds.

If I recall correctly PLCB didn't allow them to give away booze initially but the casinos lobbied to change the rules and it got done very quickly. The places I've been in have varying policies regarding what they give away and to whom.

I don't know, I've never played on NYE or NYD.

I was there last night, though, and it was jam packed all night. My guess is that there will be plenty of action, but YMMV.

Dunno, I generally only use the wifi to websurf, and it's worked fine for me for that purpose. I've heard people complain that it didn't work even for that, but that has not been my experience.

I did test last week with netflix, and couldn't get that to work (even though web surfing worked), so maybe they have streaming services blocked now. I'll try to remember to ask next time I'm there.

I'm never there at that time, but I'm told it starts between 7-9am.

Action depends on the players. As you might expect, it's more OMCish in the morning and day shift.

The days I've been there early in the morning it was getting started around 9am-10am or so. Weekdays seemed more nitty, but I've run into guys that early who've dusted off a rack or two pretty quickly. As Dinesh said, quite player dependent. There are some older regs who like to gamble.

At a minimum should be a couple of loose passive calling stations. Just takes 1 to loosen things up. Still better to get in the must move game that starts mid day.
