Not my area of expertise, but it looks like you want to take the Trenton line to the Eddington Station. Then it's a 3 mile straight shot up Street Road to Parx.

[edit: I edited the OP to include info on getting there / mass transit.]

I may be soon spending a large chunk of time in Brooklyn for work. If I have a rental car, would Parx be the best place to go if I have a day off? Travel time would be primary consideration because I will likely be working 13 days straight followed by 2 days off followed by 13 days.

Yes, from most places in Brooklyn, Parx is probably the closest casino, especially if you have a car. It also has more tables and more game variety than the other reasonable alternatives, if that is important to you. Borgata is also nice, but about an hour more driving each way.

Played 1-2 with the "King" today waiting for an OE spot. Very annoying but also good for the game. Didnt get into any protracted acting jobs when I was in a hand with him, but witnessed plenty, glad to not be paying time.

Then get on the OE table with several fairly tight players and the 1 loose guy was running us over, me in particular for a couple of downs. Must have been uncomfortable sitting on that 2 outer horseshoe. KJ53 unsuited and QJ22 in Omaha. Cant figure those two out.

Has anyone here played in the mid-high PLO games? Comment on the quality? I just realized this is about as far a drive as Delaware Park.

Hmmmm... somehow I'm not convinced.

Well I'm going to be playing a lot more at Delaware Park anyway, so I'll probably stay there until those games dry up.

If I am not mistaken, both of the two finalists in the WSOP Main Event are Parx players. Congrats to them! Hopefully the room will welcome them and their combined $11 million back to Philly in style!

Yep, both are Big Stax regulars, and both live in the area. Wonder if they'll stay local now that they've made the big leagues, or if they'll join the tour circuits instead.

That's a cash game Parx is spreading or already spread?

It's a gag commentary on the WSOP. The first two names are the top two finishers who are Parx regs. The rest are local celebrities.

Best bus deal to Parx from NYC? I loaned my car so can't drive.

Hi Everyone,

Any guesses as to what kind of crowd there might be on Christmas day and night? Any chance PLO will be running?

Thanks,

DJ

Just visited for the first time today, didn't know there wasn't a hotel connected. Does Parx offer comps or something similar for outside hotels?

There is a sign up in the poker room with current deals. Lots of discussion earlier in this thread. Just search "hotel".

I'll be up there on the 28th-30th. Going to be staying with a "local pro". We will be driving together, is there anything for me to do in a short walking distance if I need to go cool off? Also heard they dont give out drinks to players. Is this still true? My main game is O8. Checking bravo I only see 1 6/12 game going. Is this the norm? How hard is it to get a seat, will I be waiting hours to get a seat then find out im just sitting at a crap game with a bunch of regs just playing for comp dollars? I play about 20hrs a week, so i am not hard up for a game and just want to see if its worth my while or if I should just go see the sights with the women and children.

612 is OE. Can be a rock garden but usually playable. Worst is when there are a bunch of walkers during the stud downs.

They are pretty good at starting must move games. An hour wait would be unusual. 20 minutes more likely. Can always donk 1/2 NL while you wait.

Holiday week maybe there will be a 10/20 O8 only or a 10/20 bigO/super stud game? A more regular regular might know better than me.

I should be there the 29th during the day. Will be wearing Spartan gear.

You got it right. Can't speak to those days in particular, but the OE game starts early morning, and will get a 2nd or 3rd table during the day and prime time.

O8 and SS/BO go more sporadically, but if the holiday weeks plays more like a weekend, there is some likelihood one or both will run.

The casino is on a road with lots of diners, restaurants, and shops and such, but I wouldn't say it's exactly walkable, and none of it is really worth going to, unless you're hungry and don't want comp food. If you just want to kill 20 minutes, a walk to the main casino building is "fun" to do at least once, but it's just a casino. There is a huge outlet mall about 5-10 min away by car, if you and your buddy need to take a longer break.

If you're not from the area, taking a day to see the sights in Philly is hugely suggested. Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, Ben Franklin's place, MoA/Rocky steps, etc.

Tip-if you want to go to Independence Hall, you need to pick up tickets ($1?). Easiest is to reserve online, then pickup at the Visitors Center (or just pick up at the visitors center, but your choice of times may be limited).

Visitors center, Liberty Bell, and Independence Hall are near each other. (Moved here 3 years ago and have been to each close to 10 times, basically whenever someone visits. We joke we should start a tour service).

I've been to philly a few times before and we are really just going there so my wife can hang out with a friend so I probably won't hang out with them just because I will feel like the 3rd wheel. What about the drinks, are they free? Also do they run a straight Omaha 8 or is it always run as a mixed game with stud
