Read that Glantz is done as the ambassador in November... Anyone know why? I'm assuming he got another deal with another casino/site.

re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

I haven't played poker in several years since before PS and FTP went down to US players.

I've always wanted to play and now that I'm relatively close to Parx, I wouldn't mind getting back into it casually, but it doesn't seem like they have much in the way of low limits.

Can I go with $100 to play 3/6 Limit? I'm hesitant (read: scared) to try 1/2 NL. I tried it once in Salamanca, NY with $100 and people were open betting $15 preflop, which would inflate the pot and you'd end up all-in by the river. I like Limit because I can sit down and play for a few hours without busting in one hand. My main game in Salamanca was 2/4 Limit.

Unfortunately, 3-6 limit doesn't run.

The lowest limit games that run are at the 6-12 level, and that is a mix game (omaha 8 and stud 8), not hold'em.

Years ago the 6-12 hold em game would run occasionally, but it's been a long time. Now, the lowest hold'em limit game that runs is 15-30.

Your best bet is one of the other local rooms. I think Chester, Borgata, or Sands Bethleham all run a regular small stakes HE game (2-4 or 3-6). Check their web pages, or the bravo app/page, or give them a call and see.

I was thinking I saw 3/6 Limit up on the tv. Borgata is a little out of the way for a short day trip. Sands is over an hour away, which I guess isn't that bad. I might give Chester a look.

I wish there were more options for SNGs or small tournaments at Parx. All I see now is $80 rebuys and $300+ KOs.

Thanks for the information!

If there is one slight knock on Parx it is that there's no small to lower mid limit action.

Personally I love the 6/12 and have some friends who would travel to play 4/8-6/12 LHE, but nothing that low ever goes, and like me, they hate NL.

Not that it is the room's fault....there's just no market for it. Those players go elsewhere.

You should try harrahs philadelphia in chester, pa. They have a 2-6 limit game that usually has at least one table going.

Does anyone know if comp dollars can be spent any place worthwhile, besides food/drinks and some clothing items at the poker room? For example, is there a store that sells headphones in the main casino floor that takes Comp dollars?

Not to my knowledge. Food/drinks in the poker room or the restaurants, and the clothing items only.

For those that come here asking about hotels, a guy yesterday says he got the Red Roof for <$60/night. About a mile up Street Rd.

Name your own price pro tip , book for 1/2 your trip rounded up, if you're happy with the hotel you can often get it extended through priceline at the same price

Just moved to the area, plan on playing at parx a lot 2/5 mostly, anything I should know? I've played here before seems very well run, good promotions, tournaments. Also any comments on the area? Haven't done too much exploring yet. Thanks in advance.

No problem, airbnb interesting if you're good with nontraditional lodging.

Is there a reasonably easy way to get to Parx from NYC if driving is not an option?

Unfortunately not. You can take NJT down to Trenton, optionally take Septa a bit farther, and then either catch a bus, taxi, or uber for the last mile to Parx, but it's a multi-mode journey. There are no direct buses.

How does their Saturday $200+30 Deep Stack on average? How many runners do they usually have?

^I've always seen it around 100 entries, IIRC usually a little more than 100.

That's what we ended up doing. Wasn't a bad trip at all.

SEPTA from Trenton to what stop? I want to try to make it down to Parx, but this always holds me up from trying and I just go to Sands or AC instead. The thought of taking a train to a casino excites me, though. Taking a bus is so miserable.
