I agree but despite the room if there was a huge market for the $200 they should get similar numbers.

I think this turnout speaks more to the consistent quality of tournaments at Parx. I'll wait and see I suppose.

re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

Yeah there were a lot of players tonight. I didn't play personally, I played cash, but my buddies fired 5 billets between two of then and I took some action on it. Unfortunately all billets busted. I wish I could have played, but I'll likely play the 30bb battle on august 2nd if classes aren't too crazy then.

Next time I'll post here ahead of time but I usually like to start a PLO8 interest list when I go there.

re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

Rant post - wondering if others feel the same as I do or if I am being too sensitive.

1) I love that Parx poker is 9-max...however there are way too many times that I am playing 6 handed or less. Other rooms have a 3rd man walking rule. Given the 9-max standard employed at Parx, I think a strict enforcement of this rule must be put in place immediately.

2) The Russian 2/5 NL player who is constantly receiving warnings and 24 hour bans needs to be permanently banned from the poker room. Many of you know who I am speaking of. He is rude, threatening, and menacing to other players. Also, he acts out of turn almost every hand he plays. It is sickening to watch and hear every time I sit at the table with him.

3) The favoritism shown to regulars from some of the floor personnel is mind blowing. I have been skipped on the waiting list and table transfer list several times. The most egregious form of favoritism I see comes from the female floor person who lets regulars transfer seats and tables at will even when there is a list.

I'd like to end on a positive note:
Some of my favorite dealers work at Parx and they keep me coming back. I would love to shout out a few of the best but don't want to mention names.

Doesn't happen that often. Whatever.

He's a huge fish. Just don't talk to him and take his chips.

Eh, sometimes. Overall they are ok. If you want a table change badly, keep an eye on the tables you like and remind them when a seat is open.

With all the rake they make and the ignoring/refusal of dropping the bbj at 10bb in 2-5nl by "the big man" in charge, they can at least fix the AC and keep the players/workers comfortable... Floor and staff do not want to deal with a new player complaining every 2 seconds.

Step it up... Parx being "So Vegas" is a huge stretch.

re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

Anyone play the 30BB battle before? Just wondering roughly how many players it got and rough time it ended. I'm more than likely to play either on the 2nd (more likely) or the 9th (less likely) but I have class the next day so I'd like a rough estimate.

From Trenton take septa regional rail Trenton line down to Cordell's heights and uber from there. It's a 10 min uber ride. Uber Trenton to park would be expensive

Not sure if this has been answered are there any busses that go from manhatten or brooklyn to parx? Looking to come up this weekend for the 330

No, there are no direct buses to parx. There is really no convenient door to door public transit. You can get close via train and then cab or uber the last few miles.

Prepare to be freezing, and to inhale all types of 2nd hand smoke. Lot of cigarette smoke or those E-cigs right at the table.

Smoking is allowed in the poker room?

re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

Well kind of. Definetely an exageration.

During the Big Stax, from what I can tell, there is no smoking allowed in the room. At least during the 200 there wasn't. Otherwise they have a smoking section behind the bar in the back of the room, but not directly at the tables.

People are allowed to use E-cigarettes at the table, but I've never actually see anyone use one at the table (only been there to play cash a few times.) That leads me to believe complaints about that are exaggerated, and I've always found that people who complain about E-cig vapor are kind of ridiculous - unless you've got someone blowing straight clouds in your face it's really not a big deal. I mean most of the time people are vaping things that smell like coffee or cotton candy lol, there are far more unpleasant things in a poker room than that.

You can't smoke anywhere in the room during Big Stax, you have to go outside to do that.
