People order takeout pizza/pasta from a couple of local places. Sofiabella? And allstar were being discussed. Consensus both are good.

Make sure you get a chance to find some good local eats... I'm partial to a couple of places near Holt's (Cigar Shop/Lounge). Steve's Prince of Steaks, and Fat Jacks BBQ (they deliver, unsure if they deliver to the poker room).

Bensalem itself is a dump.

If you get a chance to go into Philly, there are tons of places to eat.

If you like Pizza, I recommend Zavino: 112 S 13th St, Philadelphia 19107

But there are tons of good pizza places in the city. Also DiNic's Roast Pork in Reading Terminal won the best sandwich in America on food network. You should try one.

bensalems a good 35 mins from these spots though, so he would need to have time to kill, but i agree, anyone who comes to parx for a tourney like this if they have an afternoon or evening to kill should check out philly. if you travel by car you just hop on 95 about 5 miles up street road and it takes u right to center city. both places you listed are great, although im a Vetri guy for pizza.

There is a steves Steaks probably 15 mins from the casino that is pretty awesome too, but really if you arent trying to travel there is a Wawa less than 5 mins away. hoagies are the bomb

Lol Wawa...no

If you want a good hoagie in Bensalem, I would advise going to:

Primo Hoagies
2862 Street Road, Bensalem, PA 19020
(267) 332-0075

Primos is incredible. But as a guy born and raised in Philadelphia I have a love for wawa as well.

About the actual tournament one guy who was at the final table of the big stax 1600 was posting pictures on Twitter and I saw that 10 th place got about seven grand. Is it just me or is that a pretty low amount to win for finishing 10th out of big field in a $1600 tourney?

Yes, they're payouts are very top heavy. Doesn't seem to matter much overall as they get huge #'s every series. But def not a help to the poker economy.

Primo's is awesome, but for me it's because I've been eating them since I was a teenager at the original in S philly on 17th street or whatever. Not a fan of Steve's, and anything Vetri does is just fabulous.

Will the Sunday O/E tournament at the Bogota have any effect on the 6/12 O/E game or other H/L games at Parx in terms of people going to B instead?

It's never been an issue. To be honest the times I have played any of the Borgata's OE mixed game/weekend tournaments I've checked Bravo to see what was going on at PARX and the 6/12 OE game still had 2-3 games going.

Typically 200+ entries, last Sunday was in the 230's. It normally doesn't run past 6:00 - 6:30 PM but you never know.

re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

Hey guys, looking for a bit of help. Need to find an area/exact venue to stay at that puts me in a pretty reasonable distance between Parx, Sugarhouse & Harrah's. When I put in Philadelphia, I'm getting a few total dumps and then everything $100+/nt so if here is a suburb to get what I'm looking for <$60-$80nt fitting those parameters is really appreciate the suggestions. Sorry for unintended derailment of thread.

Thanks kindly in advance.

Your best bet would be to look near cherry hill..... Smack dab in the middle is sugar house and a nice hotel there will run you $150/night

Honestly that's the only place you can really look. You'll never get anything that isn't a total pigsty for 60-80 inside the city itself. Maybe in the suburbs you can get something for 80-120 a night, but I don't know of any.

Inside the city you can probably find many options for 140-160 as long as there isn't a convention or anything in town. But I just wanted to warn you - do NOT stay at any place that is 80 bucks inside Philadelphia. It'll be like something out a horror movie.

Thanks. Mt. Laurel seems to have quit a bit more decent options <$100 a few more miles away. Comparable to Cherry Hill in terms of quality of area? Thanks again

I don't step foot in Jersey. I hate that state I hope it sinks into the ocean. Heh, just kidding, but in all honesty I have never stayed in a hotel in the South Jersey area. I'm sure they are serviceable.

Or you can just not worry about sugarhouse/chester and stay at the holiday inn for $70/night (i think i saw that rate advertised at the casino - not sure if it's day only or weekend too).

And LOL @ Mt Laurel. That's a good 45+ mins away from the casinos lol

Thanks. Ended up going to PARX. Got there around 9:00 AM and there was 1 seat open. Played until about 4:00. Good time. Up and down session. ended down a few bucks. Guy falling asleep in seat 1 kept raising every pot he was in and then continued every street. I called him down light a few times and won some but he did suck out on the river a few times - hey it is O/E and that happens more often then not.

One would think this description would narrow it down to a single person, but I only play 1-2/month and can think of at least 3 players that fit....

Now if it was the same guy still on Sunday that was there during the day on Saturday.....

Ok so Bensalem/Cherry Hill is the ideal area. Is Sugarhouse just not worth playing at in comparison? Also, didn't see it in the OP but is 2/5 9 or 10 handed?

Thanks.
