The must move game kept getting short handed, so at some point the players asked to switch to just o/8...which the floor would only allow if the game became a 10/20 game...and then the main game figured out what was happening 2 hours later and became upset. Eventually the games merged into a single 10/20 omaha game with standard pre-flop cap 6 ways...

I was sad to leave at 5 am.

I don't play Parx all that often, but it was a softer lineup than I remember. Including the guy who informed me after several hours of play, that A-2 seemed like a really important holding in this game. Just one of those Saturday night things, I guess.

Not surprised to hear this since Stud8 gets to be not so fun to play short-handed. It's a bit amusing to picture the main game players getting upset before giving in and switching games to join the rest.

Also real sweet advice of that guy about A-2. Gonna remember it when I next play H/L.

What is with the telephone customer service there? I called in 3 times yesterday and every time got a recording saying the reps are too busy and that I could leave a message if I wanted to. Seriously? The hell kind of casino doesn't have a hold system for their callers? So on the 3rd call I leave my message with my name and number asking them to please call me back. Amazingly, they didn't even call me back at all! Finally I got through to the poker room this evening and was put on hold for 10 minutes. I expect 10 minutes from Verizon, not a poker room.

All in all a pretty lousy introduction to Parx, but I'm still going up there with some buddies tomorrow to check it out. Hopefully the rest of the staff is much better than the CS there.

I have had overall a good experience at Parx but the staff there gets out of line sometimes. Sometimes their service is straight out horrible. Or maybe its just the rules.

Examples: big blind mucks his hand preflop and dealer tells him to take his cards back and pushes them back to him after they are in the muck


Floor men and dealers talk to each other about their social lives during hands when big hands are in play. They also point out people who they think are fish to the regs. They also gossip about whats going on about players like who is getting divorced, who has diabetes , who is using drugs, and many other things that I couldn't believe I was hearing...

Just be sure to raise it three handed on every street

Yea I honestly can't believe that the main casino building's support number "closes" at 9pm. Does anyone know why?

I've called the poker room line well over a hundred times. Probably been put on hold less times than I can count on one hand.

Planning on taking a few shots at 2/5.... Is there a time that is juicer than normal to step in and play ?

I don't know, but I suspect either the shift manager desk or the main check-in desk can help you, or at least point you in the right direction.

I was directed to go back downstairs to the desk in the lobby where you enter Parx East. They were able to do it for me a 2 years ago.

Easiest way is to just ask one of the floor people. The people in the suits working the various sections of the room. They have done it for me many times. I'd go to them before going to the check in desk or main desk.

They changed your name for you many times? Why wouldn't you need to do that only once?

Use a name until you start running bad. Then change it and start running good again. Duh. Although it doesn't seem to always work out that way.

Only craziness I am hoping for is that the #'s are back up for the Saturday tourney. The BPO is over, so let's gogogo.

Hi Guys I have 2 quick questions.

Does anyone know approx. how late these 2 tournies run

1) The sunday 12:15pm weekly bounty tourney of 60+10+10
2) The big stax Omaha 8OB that is on Monday the 6th?

The Sunday tournaments run 5-6 hours. I can't help you with the Omaha one. I'm guessing its a 1 day tournament so it will probably run pretty late. Maybe someone who has played in one of the previous series could chime in.

Also be aware that the dailies do not run during the series.
