Do they let you call in for 1/2 anymore? Last time I tried (over a year ago) they didn't, 2/5 plus only.

Hit up the parx for some live 10/10... trip was so-so... was seated at the good table but they have this policy of moving players to the reg infested table (anyone can explain this logic?) and their only reasoning I got was that they wanted to feed this table. Imo this is so bad for both the regs and recreational players since some ppl, when forced to move, might just opt to not play and it kills the action for some.

I liked the actual poker room a lot. Its in a separate building and the decor was nice. The dealers were nicer too than other rooms I think.

What I didnt like was that there was a lot of poker talk among the regs. I mean I dont mind table talk at all, but discussing strategy is just so -EV. If any of u parx regs r reading this-stop talking poker immediately. This one guy was talking about "san-da" (which means 3bet in english like 10 times to all the regs), and he was referring to an incident at the table in which four 3bets happened in a row from the small blind. Then all the regs started talking about 3betting pre and one guy even mentioned about 5betting ranges... wat... IF anyone at the table didnt know what 3bet was, after this session, they would have googled it.
But that wasnt even the worst part. One reg (who seemed to be a nice person) but for some unreal reason he started telling all the regs within earshot of everyone about how the recreational player at our table was a station... why!

Anyways, probably will visit the parx again but not anytime soon and hopefully the action is better, it seems hit/miss sometimes but was fun overall

That's called a Must Move game. It's pretty common and not just at Parx. It is designed to ensure that one game remains full. If you've ever been stuck in one of two six-handed games that didn't lose or gain any players for a couple hours, you would understand the appeal of this.

What are the alcohol prices like in the poker room...beer & wine? Am I able to use my comps to buy alcohol? Is there a water fountain in the poker room? Serious questions...as I'm sick of shelling out $200 a month between tips and beer at my local casino.

I'm pretty sure the beer on tap, miller high life is like $1.50ish, otherwise expect reg beer/wine/cocktail prices like any bar. Comps can be used for drinks.

Not sure about a water fountain. bottled water is free(get 2 at a time maybe). So is the water from the sink/toilet in the bathroom if your really need to save the $1 tip.

Jury seems to be in after 3-4 weeks, haven't seen an O8 game on Bravo.

Funny story, I got a hi-life once ($2) & gave the waitress a 5 bc i only had red chips. She started to walk away and I said excuse me can I have change (i thought it was assumed that im not tipping 250%)... I got the evilest look I have ever gotten from a girl, and that is no small order. The girl legit expected a 3 dollar tip for bringing me a two dollar beer. Amazing how they think they are entitled to stuff just bc they are hot.

Was it Sammi? Short asian girl. she is literally a sweet heart and doesn't sound like something she would do.

Service is the only bad thing I can say about Parx. Julie and a few other girls are good at their job but most of them are pretty awful.

One time I ordered two waters and a coffee. The waitress handed me the waters and I gave her a red bird. When she came back with my coffee she stood next to me and mad dogged me for almost a full minute for not tipping her again.

I'm going to develop an app called "guess the Parkette". Pretty sure I could get most of these.

they expect it because generally they're getting it fwiw. Not that i'm against you, i've been in that industry and wouldn't expect $3, but it wouldn't be some "OMFG" you're the best thing ever, either way its' not a big deal.

8/16 O8 went last night and lasted until morning, sadly broke between when I called in and when I arrived. Report I got is that it was a good game.

Also giving promotions for most hrs played only benefits the full time players and grinders. Recreational players come for BBJ and high hand type promos.

BBJ $ doesn't necessarily mean it's not going to stay in the Parx poker economy bc I've witnessed it very much so going into the pockets of players.

Finally got approval to spread the mix games at a $10/20 level. Trying to get a game going now, have 4 players. Will play any mix...Badeucy, Badacey, Super Stud, Badugi etc. Come out!

Went to parx this past Friday.

Good action there but noticed the regs talk so much strategy and do so much needling. It doesn't help or make it feel welcoming to new players coming there. I know this happens at every poker room but it seemed very excessive here.

Also some of the dealers talk to the regs too much during the hand while waiting on someone's action.
