I went to Parx today to play cash for the first time since the BBJ was installed. While I was not in favor of it coming to Parx, it was nice to see that they are doing some more promos with that extra money instead of only the BBJ. I happened to walk in during the first day of cash giveaways they are running this week. Every half hour from 10AM-6PM today they gave away $250 to a random seat, and at 6PM they gave 2x$500 prizes. While it's still a long shot to hit it's nice to have some equity that you actually feel you have a chance of winning. I'm sure that will attract other rec players as well.

The next few days also have this promo but the times are different each day; check the bravo app for more details.

How're the 2/5 games here during the week M-F? What kind of players can i expect from this time of crowd and would it be better to play after 4pm on these weekdays?

Haven't played 2/5 at Parx in a while but I am pretty sure the daytime on weekdays it is filled with regs and playing after 4PM would most likely be more profitable since some rec players come after work.

I binked $250 random seat giveaway last night.

On friday same guy hit twice in back-to-back half hours. An hour later, the seat to his left hit. I don't think people had a firm grasp on the term 'random' as they voiced a great deal of displeasure at how a computer could do that to them.

Are Tuesdays still the best day for games such as 6/12 oe and PLO? Like to play oe when several tables are running and know Tuesday used to be the big day. Also noticed 8/16 O8 running all day on Saturday. Is there a day or days this typically runs or was it a fluke. Thanks for any info.

I would say that Friday or Saturday is the biggest day for the $6/$12 O/E game. PLO ($5 or $5/$5) has about as good a chance of going on Tuesday as it does on Fri/Sat. $8/$16 Omaha H/L rarely goes off but if it gets 5-6 names on the list and actually starts it will pull some players from the mix game that don't really care for stud and may end up with enough names to start a must-move game too.

Ugh. No ac today and the room is hot and humid as ****.

Plus the wifi is down. Not a great day for the Parx poker room.

So I've been thinking about playing some live tournaments this summer. Up until now, I've only played online tournaments where I've done fairly well, have had a few 4 digit wins and places.

Ive never been to Parx, but I know about the Big Stax and I am thinking of driving down to play. Probably the 150kgtd or 200kgtd. How is the drive from North Jersey? (sussex county..)

If only there was an app in which you could find out exactly how the drive is...

It was hotter than normal, but certainly not 80 degrees hot. Just a few degrees above what is comfortable. But it was noticeably humid too, which was not just uncomfortable, but also made the cards and chips stick a bit. It was also strangely worse in the back half of the room, though that might have just been psychosomatic.

Last call for updates to the FAQ; I'm about to send up a few corrections.

Did I notice on bravo 8/16 O8 running yesterday too? Is that starting to get a foothold and possibly kill the OE? Not that I'm against that game but I like the stud 8 piece for a change. Couple questions if someone knows:

What's the kill on 8/16? Half or full?
Rake or time charge?
Did something change on the OE that is moving guys to straight O8? Just game/room dynamics or something else like time going up? I sure hope not.

Yes, 8-16 O8 was running again yesterday. No, there are no plans to change the 6-12 OE time charge, or anything like that [at least as far as I know].

The 6-12 was shorter than normal I think as a result, but I'm not sure I would call the funeral parlor just yet. It's definitely been one of the strongest games in the room, I imagine that will continue to be the case.

Cool thanks. I see another strong 8/16 list on bravo. Probably a function of some non stud players banding together. It'd be nice if both games stayed healthy though they are competing for the same player pool. Hopefully OE keeps it's legs. I find it to be so perfect for me, game and limit-wise. I only wish Parx weren't as far a drive for me as it is.

A little birdie tells me the 8-16 O8 is a half kill to 12-24 at a $120 scoop. It's a $5/hh time charge.

It generally just spontaneously starts as an offspring of the 6-12 game and then runs for a few days or even week+ before eventually dying off.

I agree it would be nice to have both running full time, but since the two games are so close I would worry about the health of both. But they'll spread either one, so let the market decide I guess.

Playing during Saturday day, salivating at thought of 8/16 O8. Would be great if my once every month or every or other month outing lines up.

The stud moves so slow sometime but I would guess the mistakes made are larger. Pretty good gambool in the oe game, hoping that carries over to the O8!

I'm not a huge reg in the room, but would come a little more often if O8 runs more often. I play OE from time to time, but I don't really like Stud all that much.

But I'd usually just end up playing 1-2 NLHE anyway.
