Excellent

Hope it doesn't die like the 8/16 did.
In absence of that, Hope to play a few times at least for some fun times and take home some beer money.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2013.03.18

Hey folks, just created an account to say my friend and I are coming down from NYC tomorrow (8/10) afternoon. Would definitely be interested in 1/2 or 5-0 PLO, especially a 200-max format. Hope to get some 4-card love going.

Thanks for all your contributions in this thread. Helped me decide between AC, Foxwoods, and here for this weekend. Can't wait to scope out the Philly action.

from what i've seen it's not an issue, they just look inside real quick to make sure it's not filled with teletubbies or whatever and you're on your way.

Yeah they basically open it look inside and give it back to you in the area by the front desk. Was worried about that after going the weekend after the Boston bombing.

Best way to get there from NYC? Is there any direct buses? Where can I find details?

Good structure tournaments, super deep, and long levels.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2013.03.18

Okay so here's a situation idk for sure about and maybe someone can help. I'm gonna play the 1k Friday. If I make day 2 or bust later at night, am I able to get back to NYC somehow? I need to be in NYC Saturday by 730am or 8am at the latest because the Spurs play at 830am. Is this impossible somehow or is there a way to do it? I'm pretty sure Greyhounds run all night so as long as I can get to the Greyhound station really late at night I should be fine. Obv I don't want to pay heaps for a cab but if it's under $100 I'll do that if I have to.

Oh and before anyone says anything...I know there's a Philly Spurs bar but I don't want to watch the game there. Need to be at the NYC Spurs bar for the game.

The first NJT train leaves Trenton at 4:54am on sat morning and arrives at 6:30am. Another train runs an hour later. I dunno if Septa will be running that early, but worst case take a cab to trenton.

My girlfriend and I were going to come down to play the normal Sunday tournament. I'm guessing that isn't running because of Big Stax?

I'm guessing not, as they showed the Tuesday night deepstack, which is the same thing they run on a regular Tuesday.

Fruit platters are pretty good, however, I pick out the cantelope and honeydew so half of it is gone.

Really? Everything I tried has been great.

I've had a breakfast sandwich, a cheesesteak (maybe not the best I've had, still better than most places in central NJ,) asian salad and fruit platters. Granted I'm not picky when it comes to fruit, I almost only eat fruit when playing poker.

FWIW, I thought the breakfast sandwich was excellent, though.

The food's a *bit* on the pricey side, but that's expected in casinos. Personally, I really like their food, although I think they could use some more options.

I think so. At least I seem to recall seeing a couple things on their Poker menu from it... but I could be mistaken. I may have seen it when passing through the main Casino floor...

I'm like 85% sure it's at very least open, though.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2013.03.18

It is open in the main casino food court. I don't think their food is on the poker menu, though. And I'm pretty sure there are no more food runners that will go over for you and pick it up, but I may be mistaken about that.

I also feel as though the food quality has declined somewhat since it was first rebooted: wilted lettuce in the salads, missing ingredients from time to time, etc. But part of that may just be getting bored with it now that I've sampled everything I like often enough. A few new additions from time to time would be nice. Overall though, it's still a pretty good value. And I don't agree that "choices are terrible".

I'm assuming they are going to make some changes to the menu soon because they asked a few of us what we would want to add/change to the menu yesterday.

I'm with Dinesh, the food has been going down hill. It's decent, especially given what it is, but it could be eons better.

I wish the room was next door so it wouldn't be a 30 minute trek to get asian, or earl. that and more random gambOOlers.

I played the six max tourney on Sunday... Structure was awesome and staff and dealers were great. I loved the unlimited re-entries, built a pretty nice pool for the amount of players that showed. I re entered 3 times and got it in twice as 90/10 favorite and once as a 96/4 and lost all three. That's poker. Can't wait for the next series though was awesome times
