No you can't. Even during open seating check with floor first. You can ask for a few table options to check out. Most people do this, check out the tables, then decide to go or stay.

I had the good fortune of going deep in today's bounty tournament and had an interesting observation...

It seemed to me that there was no point where anyone had more than 20x BB at any point and was a shove fest after the 1k/2k level and beyond. Not much room to play pre flop..... I busted at the 6k/12k level in 29th place...

Can anyone else who has gone deep in this comment on this ?

Yep you're right. Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday tourneys are the same. That's just gonna happen in most daily / weekly tournaments unfortuantely; casino doesn't wanna make some tourney with a great structure and use dealers for longer than they deem necessary.

I was considering playing tomorrow.

How would you guys/others rate their tourneys?

Are they worth playing vs cash games?

Haven't been to Parx in a while, how many runners for Wed afternoon tourney and how late does it go?

Just got back from another trip. Last night it took an hour to get a drink. In fact girl told me she forgot. Then again today playing cash same thing. This time she totally forgot and never got it as I was leaving. The fact that this service is tolerated blows my mind. I just bring my own water now.

My god dude, how many times can you waste space posting the same thing. It's a dead horse, no one cares.

Parx is a good room no doubt, but it would be nice to see a LHE game between 4/8 & 15/30. Either 6/12, 8/16, or 10/20.

Instead of a 10 and a 20/40 they have 15/30 and 30/60. It's way to late to change that now...Honestly I think those limits are better than "borgata" style. Same thing with the 6/12. Locked in.

No one will play 8/16, it's not like they won't spread it, it just never ever goes.

I used to start 10/20 hoe lists but either no one signs up or if it does go, it ends up being all decent players and a waste of time.

I care, actually.

When players at the table can't have alcohol efficiently shuttled to them, it's a serious buzzkill.

Just tonight I watched a guy wait an hour for his beer, only to be told that the waitress forgot.

Then, another guy sat out to drink for awhile at the bar.

Do I really have to point out all the reasons it's bad that players can't get a beer delivered to them in a timely manner?

Additionally, Parx should seriously consider offering free alcohol at 2 5 and 10 10 tables. I for one choose to play mostly at Chester and Borgata (I play around 80-90 hours a month of 2 5+) for that reason.

I care. But having it come up all the time in here won't fix it.

So I humbly suggest someone put in the FAQ that drink service stinks so that this thread doesn't get clogged with people complaining about it.

Poor choice of words, I meant "No one cares that you care about it enough to post about it over and over again."

Though on a side note I have seen drink/food service improve lately imho and saw a few new people being trained. Of course that could be a symptom of moving to playing during the day.

Can confirm that service was much better last night.

6/12 oe game was blowing up. Kill pot. Capped on turn 3 bets on river 5 ways. Neither winner was close to the nuts and they were driving the pot, not chasers.

Was just sick.

That had to be a MOUNTAIN of blue chips. Also, that table must have had a lot of non-regs, right? I can't think of a single reg that would put in the river reraise without the nuts.

Can anyone tell me how the structure is for the Saturday $230? Pretty standard? I haven't been able to pull up the structure pdf files from the Parx website for a few weeks.

With Delaware Park seemingly raising a white flag, guess its time to start making the longer drive here.

Don't show up for it tomorrow, it's on Sundays. Averages about 150ish, and I plan on playing.....

I only play occasionally so i can't comment on regulars. I can confirm the mountain. There was a big main and a massive side pot. I believe 14 stacks of about $50-$60 each. $400 went in on the turn alone. All streets were were raised at least once.

Stupidest thing I ever saw when the cards were flipped over. Guy next to me was in shock. He seemed like a reg.

Lots of Chasing of weak draws for half pots. I'm no expert in split games but it seems to me that you need scoop outs or massive draws to half pots to continue. Stupid is as stupid does I guess.

Referencing this I can't seem to get any rates for Saturday night. I'm trying
InnPlace Hotel at Bensalem - But the discount code says it's not valid
Holiday Inn (NE-Bensalem) - I don't even see where I put in the promo code .. just corporate discounts and what not.

Is there updates to this? Any room rates on Saturday? Damn it's expensive just to play at this place (hotel room, amtrak, taxi, etc). Oh well, I've had fun the past few times I went so it's worth it.

Try and call the hotel front desk.

-your friendly pre-Internet dinosaur.

If that doesn't work, try priceline. Search the express deals for a 3 star in bensalem, it's either going to be one or the other that accepts the deal. Just booked a fri & sat night for some friends of mine at $67/night +tax.
