Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2011.09.08

My understanding is they gave them at first come first serve at the beginning, and with them all out, or mostly all out. It's reserved for 40/80+ or 10/10+ with appropriate hours. They also didn't ask for a deposit.

15/30 wasn't "high" enough currently, at least for me.

I have an idea and it would be pretty hard to get people behind, due to accounting possibilities as well as tax implications but....

If your parx card could be loaded and unloaded with chips/cash, like an atm card(obviously you need your ID) At cage you can put the cash out back on the card, or take cash whatever you choose. Keep a balance for next time like a safe deposit box. Even give a half point interest on big balances.

With the card you could transfer online, from bank account to parx instantly.

No one ever gets followed home(or thinks they got followed home) again. As card is worthless without ID.

heck if people are worried about a fulltilt esk disappearance of parx, have them fdic insure their accounts like a bank.

Never happen, but it would be so easy and effective.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2011.09.08

Boxes weren't really first come first served when they first came available. You had to put in "enough" hours to be considered for one. At the very beginning they were by invitation only. Then later they opened it up a bit to people who asked and who had enough hours. Though it's true it was up to their discretion as to what "enough" was.

It's entirely possible that Parx will allow you to deposit funds in a player bank (if they don't already) - lots of casinos already do this, especially for pit games. You often have to go to a special cage to deposit or withdraw though (in the main casino). There is almost no chance of them providing banking services and giving interest though.

Moreover, most players wouldn't want this, because the dollars in and out would get tracked by "the man".

Did you notice the Parx comp/food system for the first two years? I don't see your ideas being implemented by parx in the next century.

I personally give you credit for this idea. It is a well thought out idea and would also help if you could pre-set daily spending amount on it in case of drinking or long shot getting robbed by smart thief with laptop. Idea is worth pursuing and maybe patenting/ peddling at casino trade show. All it takes sometimes is one casino to pick up and rest to follow suit and you would be instant millionaire. Get on the show Shark Tank and make it happen, LOL. Honestly though it is good idea.

That being said, there is generally plenty of security around, and I've never felt menaced or threatened in any way.

Still, it's hard to forgive Parx for the lack of boxes, and overall security-poor layout and the risk this introduces. Nothing screams "awesome" like having the entire line at the cage -- and a few close 2/5 tables -- watch at 3AM as the cashier announces that you're going to be exiting the building shortly with several thousand dollars in cash.
I've never dealt with boxes, and I've actually never once at any single casino/gambling place have had anyone look at me sideways as I was leaving. However, after reading about some stories, I figured it is just simply better to be safe than put myself in a lose-lose situation. I get robbed, I lose my money, and if I actually get hurt, then that's way way worse. I guess maybe a few years ago I'd have been less careful, but I have a wife and kid now, so if I got stuck up and my wife found out it'd be the end of me ever telling her I'm playing cards or gambling again.

So there's 13 players on the 8-16 O8 list and clear interest to play, but the floor just will not fire it off because it interferes with the 3 tables of 6-12 OE. How to get this game going? Its great when it goes off.

Try making it 15/30? Unless there is a 15/30 holdem going cuz then they won't do that either.

He asked for ideas for how to get the game running. Unfortunately if the floor feels like the stakes are close enough that a new game will kill the action of an already running game than they aren't going to do it. They are gonna say sit in the 6/12 game if you wanna play O8 until we decide we can run it.

This is part of the reason I stopped playing here so regularly. Floor is horrible in this casino, there is clear interest in many occasions for 8/16 O8 only and they will not run it. Happened about 3 times I was there including the last time. Floor should work with players to keep them happy playing what they like. Cut back my visits significantly due to this disturbing and angering occurrence.

It has happenned a few times before. The floor guys at the middle podiums are all nice and will at least try to ask the desk. The desk managers never seem to oblige or let the games get off. I could see if there's 4 players on a list, but 13?

I'm sure all 13 player were already playing 6/12. 15/30 they'll usually do, maybe even 10/20.

I think it's smart. That's probably how the OE game got killed at Borgata.

Stud Hi-Lo never gained a long-term foothold in AC. When the 10-20 OE was running at Borgata. a lot of players tended to take walks during the stud rounds. Is the same thing happening at Parx lately?

Maybe a tiny bit, but not in a hugely measurable way. Moreover, there are also people who prefer stud to omaha. Most people just play the game.

I don't blame them in trying to protect the 6/12 game. But they shouldn't even start the list for 8/16 then.

That I agree with. 6-12 game was great this weekend though, ran all Saturday into Sunday.

I was there Saturday afternoon. My immediate seat neighbors 3 out 3 wished it was stud only

I was that that guy that chooses to take a break during stud. But only 10 minutes of 1 down after 4 hours. I didn't notice anything significant in terms of walkers.

There is a hotel right outside parx. Don't remember the name but it is clean and a fine place, nothing special though. Same with the holiday inn down the street. If you are just looking for a clean room they will do the trick.

Yeah that happens late, when the game is dying people don't want to play stud shorthanded anymore.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2013.03.18

I get that the 6/12 game is very popular, but Parx floor should at least try and see if the 6/12 & 8/16 O8 games can run simultaneously.

Question ? Why wouldn't Parx try to spread two seperate games; 6/12 stud h/l and 8/16 O8. This seems like it would keep everyone happy.

Not a big fan of Parx floor personnel either. Always act like you're bothering them whenever you ask a question.

Only thing is if they spread 2 different games, people would be going back and forth too often. Maybe they should start a 10/20 omaha half kill list instead of 8/16
