there is one literally at the other end of the parking lot. Parx is on a major road with two highways(route 1 and I95) within a few miles. I'd suggest a google maps search to find a brand you're comfortable with and go from there.

I'd definitely be interested, and would talk to the floor about starting a list.
I like playing the 6/12 OE game, but I also like switching to different games every 9 hands.

If a 4/8 HORSE game ever got going, there would have to be some things ironed out 1st;

1) The BI for the stud games. $1 or $2 ?
2) Half-kill to 6/12 or full kill to 8/16 ?
3) Are kills allowed in PA for LHE games ?

Just some food for thought...

the 6-12 OE already runs with a HK, so I assume the answer to #3 at least is yes.

So then parx is in a safe location? I play 2/5 so I have some coin on me. I don't know the area at all.

It is as safe as any regular suburban strip mall, there is an Applebee's and such up against the parking lot.
There are regular 300/600 games there, no one is going to bat an eye at anyone playing 2/5.

I wouldnt worry, although i did read a thread on another forum posted by a guy who claimed that while over at parx someone attempted to rob him at knife knifepoint, op pulled out a gun and knife guy ran away.

Bigger max buy in. Make sure you carefully look at each stack. Many players have a few black chips "somewhere" to the side or on top of their stack so they don't look so deep.

Some tables can play extremely big. More like a 5-10 game. Straddling is not uncommon.

Tuesday nights seem to be the best night to play.

IMO the heated counter top is the nuts. Infomertials on tvs in the middle of the night are annoying. I love the room; only wish it had a hotel and offers but the Marriott is ok

Just the way it's worked out. Weekends people tend to go down to the shore/AC. Weekdays no one in Philly wants to make a haul out to AC for just a couple hours, so lots of them come to Parx instead.

Also, there is a tournament on Tuesday nights. Seems to fill the cash games up with disgusted people looking to gamble.

For 10/10 it started with an arbitrary but explicit statement amongst the regs earlier this year that Tuesday would be the day where everyone would come. Lots of games on the bravo brings even more people and then we just told them the same thing.

Tuesday wasn't totally arbitrary I guess as Sands runs 10/25 on Wednesday and Chester used to regularly get it's 5/10 on Monday.

The bigger 75/150 and 150/300 mix games also come to Parx on Tue nights, which for some reason attracts many others. I guess it's just the place to be.

Will Parx ever have any lower buy-in MTTs on the weekends? I always go to AC, but going to try Harrah's in Chester now. Would be nice if Parx added some too.

I doubt it. The room does just fine on the weekends, no real need for them to run a lower buy-in MTT.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2011.09.08

So what is going on with the new room opening in the main building? For some reason I was under the impression that the transition would take place this fall. However after speaking with a dealer the other day he seemed pretty certain it wouldn't be for at least a year as the owners haven't even approved the building plans yet.

This leads my to a little rant. The poker room the last 3-4 months seems to be not being kept up as well. The first six months the room was open there were tons of complaints about dirty bathrooms, dirty chips etc etc. Then things were done about those complaints where things got quite a bit better. The past half year it has slowly been getting worse again, same type problems with the bathrooms. I'd assumed it was being overlooked since the room was going to move soon and it didn't matter. But if we going to be there for another year lets try to get things improved again, somebody has to take some pride and get stuff done there. For christ sake, the one hand sanitizer has been busted up for like four months and the floor has been told many times and nothing has been done, I can't understand how that can be like that so long with nobody taking any initiative to fix it. Don't even get me started on the bathrooms or drink service.

They just replaced the foam and felt last week, and I don't know about the bathroom being worse as it seems way better than at open and I always see an attendant in there. But yeah drink service is as slow as always.

Hi All - Does Parx have a 1/2 PLO game that runs on weekends?

They have a 5-0 PLO game (plays similar), but I honestly haven't seen it running recently. Possibly I just haven't noticed it when it is running, although the last 2 weekends were slower than normal because of the Borgata tourney.

the 6/12 OE actually runs with a quasi kill and plays at 10/20.
