Maybe the 2+2 forums isn't the best place to make fun of 'the online nerds' of the poker world?

You are on a forum where people talk about poker... and you're making fun of someone who wants to talk about poker?

Talking poker is fine. It's the strategy and study groups part that is nerdy. Instinct, I have never even done blow, but I have been meaning to expand my horizons so if you are serious I'll try some with you. I'm at Parx about 5 nights a week so hit me it if you have some blow, the beers are too expensive at Parx. If we did some of that stuff you wouldn't want to "study" poker as much.

You're stupid like a box of rocks. Talking poker on 2plus2 is a huge waste of time, talking poker in a small study group with people who are not ******ed will have a large impact on your winrate.

Also lolol at calling people nerds while posting on an Internet forum.

Listen Pointdexter, if you want to get together with your buddies and watch a Star Wars marathon including all the deleted scenes and interviews, then talk live poker strategy all night, go for it. But for gods sake stop calling it a study group, or at least don't refer to it like that in front of non-nerds.

What is this garbage? If the guy wants to get a bunch of poker players to discuss poker and improve their games and winrates, why is that your concern? Some people take the game more seriously than others. I will say that if your idea doesn't pan out, that a skype chat group would have a decent chance of succeeding.

*has over 600 posts on an Internet forum*
*calls other people nerds*

I'm nerdy as ****, I don't mind cause it makes me a ridiculous amount of money, but everything you've posted has been ridiculously stupid. "Studying poker MY way is normal, but studying poker YOUR way is nerdy". It is all nerdy man, or none of it is, whatever, nerdy is a stupid word anyway.

Why are the flat screen TV's not in HD? This TILTS the crap out of me anytime I am there. I just can't fathom a reason why they'd adorn the walls with beautiful Samsung LCD' if they didn't plan on making them in HD ready.

Please Explain! I'm sure parx makes plenty of money off the rake that they can afford whatever incremental expense it would be to make each TV HD ready

Why can't they spread a NLHE pot but can spread and stack the chips in a PLO pot? Can pots only be spread and or stacked in PLO and 8b games?

Here is my guess:

Split pot games stack the pot to make splitting the pot faster at the end. Technically I think dealers are only supposed to stack the chips if a low is possible.

PLO pots can be counted because the rules of the game restrict betting to the size of the pot. So if the dealer isn't keeping track of the pot, he or she needs to be able to count the pot to know the legal bet size.

In NLHE there is no pot restriction on bet size. It's the player's responsibility to keep track of the pot. Moreover, it slows down the game to spread the pot, which costs the house rake in raked games and cost the players hands in times games -- and costs the dealer tips in all games.

In this age of technology and every other person glued to a phone I do not think with all the dead time in live poker it's too much of a ask to have all TV's in HD for those of us who don't care for phone games.

Actually, the second half is flase. Technically they are supposed to always stack the pot. It is up to the players to know there is a low possible, dealer is not supposed to say anything or do anything to alert players about the existence or non existence of a low.

This is true in the non-Parx casino that I work at. We are supposed to stack the chips always. I personally stack them from PF onwards. This also makes it a little easier to know if a pot will activate a kill.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2011.09.08

Not to break up the love fest in this thread, but...

It's been about a year since I've played at Parx... wondering how the 15-30 LHE game is.

Does it play like the 10-20 at the Borg? How is the overall skill of the players comparatively? Much tougher or about the same? Although I can't imagine it being as soft as that 10-20, I assume it can't be all that hard to beat. Prob just more aggressive?

I know some people prob are hesitant to post that info, but I don't plan on becoming a grinding reg or anything... maybe just a few trips in the summer and wondering if the extra time/expenses to the Borg will be worth it.

The game plays more like 20 than 10. It's also 9 handed, and shares in the wondering off problem the borgata 10 game has, although not as bad.

My guess is that the Parx game is better, but I can't say for sure since I never play either of those particular games. My guess is based purely on the looks of the players and the fact that in general, Parx games seem softer than Borgata. Parx also has less rake and no BBJP.

Yeah, the Borg 20 and Parx 15 are in the same neighborhood.

I haven't been to Borg since... October? (yeesh) and was actually at Parx tonight working off the cobwebs at the 15. Recognized a player or two from both games.

I see a few faces from the taj 20 game back in the day. I'd say that it's more like 20 at the taj circa 05-06 than the 20 game at borgata is today. Although it's definitely more aggressive than 10 at borgata. The game can get buckle up fast especially if their is a straddle in play.
