I have sprint for data and the signal is very bad at parx, I know other providers work better at parx, but I'm not gonna switch just because of the poker room. Lets gets with the program, free WiFi.
Please no wifi.

Games are slow enough with people not posting blinds and not acting on their turn because they are playing with their phones/texting/checking facebook, etc.

I can only imagine how many times we'd have wait for people to act when they are watching movies on their ipads.

I play twice a week so I'm a semi regular and I get how convenient it would be to have, but in terms of game speed/hands per hour it will slow things down to more of a crawl then it already is.

Simple fix - if action is on you and you are using your phone/iPad/whatever, you are mucked. 0 tolerance.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2011.09.08

Played at Parx Saturday night for the first time in almost a year.

Was disappointed by most of the dealers to be honest. The table found out I was a Harrah's Chester regular and we talked a lot about the differences between the two facilities. One of the other players repeatedly said how he thought the dealers at Parx were 'more friendly' than those at Harrah's. After two hours, I actually though the Parx dealers were 'too' friendly. They were more interested in talking to the players (I was very guilty of incessant flirting with a very pretty 40-something Cambodian woman who is married with three children) and the games suffered as a result.

I will be making a more regular trip to Parx, though, as I have friends who live a lot closer who I can see up there once in a while.

Thats because I have to sit there and keep checking if the page is loaded yet.. If it was fast and consistant connection I'd be ready for my turn to act every time! I promise.

A couple of other things about Parx:

Why do I have to post when I first sit down? I play at Harrah's Chester and Delaware Park and don't have to do this.

I hate the blue chips. Loathe and despise them.

It makes sense that you have to risk money in order to have a chance to win the dead money. I've always joked that a viable strategy at Chester is to gather a group of trustworthy homeless people and have them come in on the cut-off and just open jam with say JJ+ and AK. When they get under the gun just try to sneakily change tables.

You always have had the option to post or wait when you sit down, did I miss something here ?

You come in for free at any position besides the BB, BTN, and SB (obviously) at CET properties.

Weird question, but why do you have to pay for drinks at Parx? I've neer had to in CT, AC or Vegas.

Pretty sure they charge because they can. They just need to be better than Harrah's Chester and that's not very hard to do.

You can sit down and get dealt in UTG, UTG+1; anywhere but the button; at Delaware Park and Harrah's Chester. No posting necessary at NL games.

One negative I forgot to add: I was surprised the dealers are not allowed to spread the pot at Parx. I honestly don't remember the last time I needed the dealer to spread the pot, but Saturday night, it was just a big pile and I asked and the dealer said 'We're not allowed to.' I was able to piece the hand together and figure out the approximate pot, but I was surprised at this.

Hi all,

Canadian tourist who hopes to make it out there wed April 18th and maybe Thursday April 19th. I'm going to be in NYC for a conference. What's my best bet for public transportation to get to Parx? Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks! I wonder how the turnout will be since wsop at Chester. They should pick a different time frame for this.

Looking to play at Parx for the first time Sunday since DP is closed.

If I'm reading this right, the 1-2 NL is capped at $5 (10%). How are the limit games raked? Time or like the 1-2 NL?

They can't spread it but they are supposed to make sure the bigger denomination chips are clearly seen if I understand correctly.

PSA: If you are approached by anyone in a casino and they ask to borrow 5-10k or more you should think about how well you really know them. Even winning players who are your "friend" can get over their heads IRL. I don't want to call anyone out on a public forum, but twoplustwo and parx is a community and we have to look out for each other. A post like this a month or two ago may have saved some people from getting hurt.
