You're right, what ever takes less money of the table overall, is what's best for the player and the game. All those days you win 1 pot and hour are mitigated by the ones you win 2-4 pots an hour.

A better example is when the game is short. You pay $6/hour vs $2/3 bucks a hand. Say the game is 4 handed. You win an average of 6 hands an hour(which might be low in a 4 handed game to be honest). How's rake look now?

Factoring in what the Bellagio does isn't relevant, they are 2500 miles apart. Bell takes rakes 10/20 and does $10/hour at 20/40. If they raked the 15 that would be worse for any player.

Unless the game is going REALLY REALLY slow constantly(which is a dealer issue not a rake issue) or it's draw games on a full table, time is the way to go.

ps - unless you're SUPER SUPER nitty, time pots even out in the long term. Even with the good players avoiding them.

Poker room manager definitely sets the rake.

Are you sure? Aren't all PA rakes the same? Plus no poker room manager lowers revenue without someone higher up approving.

I am confused why you quoted me, I am firmly in support of time.

Any idea how many qualified for the 50k freeroll? Did they put a list up of any kind?

I quoted you because you were making the point of time being better than rake. I opened with You're right..and just furthered the point.

Chester has had low rake nights before. PA rooms have higher rake because none of them are near each other. They each have relatively substantial geographic monopolies. Parx and Chester are the closest ones.

Hmm it's almost like there's a pattern here.
The difference that I'm attempting to point out is the decrease of time taken per hour in percentage to the increase in limit. The 20/40 nj game is an increase of 33% over the 15/30 game while the time collected is just an increase of 16%. The difference in savings is considerable over a full year of play if the 15/30 game was switched to 20/40 or the time in the 15/30 game was reduced to $10 an hour.

I'm just making a simple request from an observation. I'm not looking to cause a situation or major debate. Just figured its never bad to ask.

Thanks Brian, I regret that I never managed to sit in on the new PLO structure... I was planning on doing so whenever the NL games were bad, but... just didn't happen.

Always possible, just get on the $5 PLO list when you arrive and if it starts to fill up it might get called

There is usually enough interest in the room to get it started, just takes someone who's willing to round up the usual suspects and get it going.

The 10-10 game is now going to be a $500-$3,000 buy-in from what I understand.

All WPT series tournaments have 20 min blinds except the main event. Having noticed it on the structure sheet, I asked one of the day shift managers. She said that it's been updated, and the proper info is on the website.
As of today, parx website shows the structures as described above. All touneys ($100, $200, $300) with 20 min levels, except the Main.

Can we get a clarification? Structures suck. I would only play ME if they are accurate.

When is this effective?

Yesterday it was $1000-No Cap the whole day which I think is bad for the game. It scares away fish and shot taking players who come over and see a bunch of people sitting $5-10k deep with a mountain of blacks and a few oranges.

$3,000 is a fine max.

Never have played 10-10 but I am a 5/10 reg at other venues. Can't be much of a difference in playing styles between the two am I correct?

And I agree 3k max is a beautiful thing. My typical buy in is 100BB if I'm unknown at the table, but a 3k max gives a lot of room to try to cover the fish once they are spotted.

Although I'm not opposed to a no cap structure.

I also like a 3k max. Also, it keeps the option open for the 10/20 NL game or 10/25 NL game to pop up once in awhile.
