Not to sound stupid but where exactly is the steakhouse?

To all who are interested, They have the structures posted for the WPT regional here:

http://www.parxcasino.com/wpt.php

I see they added $20 to the ME buy in to make it an even $500 w/ the juice

Pretty disappointing that it's basically all 20 min levels (except the Main obv).

Just up everything to 30 mins.

They run a Saturday daily that's 200+30 with 30 min levels but the Saturday 200+30 with a guarantee in the tourney SERIES is a worse structure.

Seems real.

I LOVE the buy-ins, juice, schedule cause I work full time (but have a flexible schedule where I can play ~4 of these) and grind poker for fun/extra income. These tourneys are perfect for me but the structures are beyond disappointing. I'll probably just play the PLO & skip the rest.

Not a good month for PARX. They must have made some cut-throat NY's resolutions over there.

It's in the main casino building, not Parx East.

Thanks....Since everyone is dissapointed with the whole series, do you think is going to be good turnouts or big overlay with the WSOPc in AC??

I see a 10/20 mix is going tonight, what games are being played? Is this a semi-regular thing ?

Experimenting with 10/20 Stud 8, Omaha 8 (both 1/2 kill) and then PLO/8 $5 - 1 blind with a $500 max/person/hand. 8 games of each ($5 time) . The floor doesn't have a list for it so they call it a 10/20 Mix. Personally, I'd like it to go 10/20 HORSE but they still haven't "trained" the dealers for Razz.

If by semi regular you mean it was the 2nd time in 2 nights with this mix, then yes. I played til 1. It was plo8, lo8, stud8. 10/20 in limit games. Single $% blind in plo8. Fun game, but too many good players were there last night.
That is all.

I really don't see there being a good turnout for this one, the structures are taken from thier daily tournaments and with most events being 20 min levels it's like there is no difference. I was always under the impression that hosting a series like this brought more players in b/c of better structures.

As an example the PARX Poker open, The first series they hosted, most of the events had at least 30 min levels, excluding the DS turbo events and also had every level known to man. Just dont see the benefit to their current structure for this series. pretty dissapointed. I will only be playing the main.

I think the first event and the main event will draw the most players. And I really don't see them making all of their Guarantees

As awful as the structures are, they will make the guarantees....but only because each guar is based on 100 runners. Their daily's get that and more so a "Tourney Series" will draw equal or better.

Seriously, who has a tourney series and throw 20 min levels on everything? WTF? The more I think about it, the more pathetic it is.

We're not asking for 50K chips and to start at 5/10 blinds.

Just make it 30 mins and add something like 250-500 & DEFINITELY 2,500-5,000. Neither of those are a chip issue. The green $25 chips stay in play til 400-800 (75a) and the $500 chips are in play well after a potential 2,500-5,000 level.

I honestly think they are playing it safe after what happened at Chester during their last tournament series (something like 5 events missed the guarantee and the main missed it by 100 players and $50,000).

20mins for a "Series"? That's weak to say the least.

Could the 20 minute levels in almost all the events be a result of them all being 1 day events??? I know in their last tournament series, most of the events were 2 day events. If you get 400 or more for one event and it has 30 minute rounds I don't know if it could finish in 1 day.....

Does anyone want to try and get a stud game started this Saturday ?

I was thinking 8/16 ($1 ante, $2 BI), maybe between 2-6PM or so ?

Hey whos plo-ing with me tonight

At a 2/5 game near me this afternoon I saw something that has happened way too much from the same person.... This player seems to always shoot angles and keeps overall doing shady stuff.

(claiming to not have known a player had more chips after shipping all in and then claiming to chop a pot then hitting his hand and then saying oh, I never said chop.)

These we're just two of today's occurrences and problems like this happen with this player ALL the time.. I personally would never sit at a table with him..

I'm sure people who were playing 2/5 today know who I am referring to....

another question, what is best way to get to parx from manhattan using public transport? parx website only provides driving directions. given that parx is on the outskirts of philly, maybe no good options...

I will personally volunteer to train the dealers for razz. In lieu of that, someone plz let me know when they're ready so I can beat the bushes to get local razz players to descend on Parx. kthx
