I won't play here again until players receive some form of restitution and I urge others to do the same. This is a disgusting sleight to their loyal player base in a time when acts of sickening greed and corruption are becoming entirely too commonplace.

Add me to the disgruntled list. Have not seen a response in the thread from Ari or Brandon. Will not go to Parx until an explanation and confirmation of the details.

At least give the players an opportunity for 30 days to use the comps.

BTW is the new policy posted? Have not read it on the Parx site.

Haha why on earth would they post this on their website?

Here's an idea:

Let's figure out a way to organize this story and get it published in the Philadelphia Inquirer. This would be horrible press for them and while they may not be concerned about losing a few players (I don't have a choice, Chester doesn't spread my game and I live close by) they will FREAK OUT over a news piece scaring away casual poker players and gamblers coming from DC or NY or NJ who have a choice between Parx and AC.

Newspapers publish way more mundane stories than the theft of hundreds of thousands of dollars by a local casino. Someone contact an editor at the Inquirer or if that's too difficult contact a small local paper that is dying for stories. I'm sure we won't have a shortage of players to quote for the stories. Boycotting them as a player isn't gonna work in my opinion. The piece should mention that Borgata comps expire in 180 days not 60 days to at least allow Parx the opportunity to save face and match Borgata's policy. Free advertising for Borgata which has treated me fabulously lately by giving me free rooms every day now and free upgrades on my last two stays. **** Parx for doing this without notice.

I am a nyc player that will no longer be giving Parx my business. This change of policy without proper notice is an outrage. I opted to take day trips instead of overnighters to Borgata. No more. Tired of the ****ty comp system to begin with. Bravo is fine, but then having to track down supervisor to ask them to load them on my card is like getting permission to piss in school. Then, ****ty food options. Asian noodle bar is not that good and has become boring and pretty much everything else is fried. Finally, lets face it, game selection sucks (unless you're a 1/2 player)

Just spoke to someone that said management is going to refund the comps to our accounts if we ask for it, but it will expire in 60 days. Looks like Ari is trying to make things right for the suit's rediculous decision.

They kept track of what they erased?

Someone should still go to the newspaper, that's really scummy for a big operation to just dump comps like that. Very Taj-esk. How long until there are homeless people and guys in cowboy jackets sleeping next to the high limit room.

Been thinking about possible actions to take the last couple days while I've been there. It's been hard for me to get too worked up about it because I just assume that it will get taken care of, the notion that they could just do this is pretty outrageous. There are a few different things players could do, the newspaper idea Nickel poster above would probably be the easiest and should be the first step after of course voicing yourself directly to Parx. Seems like a thing the press would be very interested in, a cheap easy news piece about how Parx didn't like the idea of having $500k in backed up comp liability so they came up with a kick ass solution, just take the $500k back by retroactively changing their policy after telling customers comps never expire.

Hopefully what godsgift said is correct in that they will refund the comps if asked. I'm sure a high % of the amount taken is from players who don't care and don't even play there anymore or don't realize they even have comps. Parx could get away with wiping these comps clean and not deal with any reprecussions, but to think they could just take them away from players who are there all the time and accrued a ton of comp money because of the fact they never expire just isn't gonna fly.

I'm more then willing to give it a little time for it to sort itself out, but it won't be forgotten about brushed under the rug. Those comps from the past should be refunded and not just for 60 days, they were acquired when comps didn't expire, so parx needs to do what they need, even if it needs to recode their system a little.

I agree, I hope this will get sorted out the right way, mistakes happen all the time, its how they are dealt with that counts. This won't go away otherwise, there are way to many loudmouths at Parx to let something like this go (myself included). If there's one thing poker players as a whole care about its fairness, without that there are no games.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2011.09.08

Naturally was appalled to have checked my comps at the kiosk on 1/2/2012 only to see most of them had disappeared. When asked the staff behind the desk they explained what was going on and pointed to the front desk to the single 8.5 x 11 piece of paper describing the new go **** yourself comp system.

As if all of us Parx Poker Investors weren't already disappointed albeit tolerant of a crummy existing comp system with a single convenient barely edible source of spending those comps. No plethora of restaurants, no entertainment, no hotel. But there is a noodle bar. Wonderful. Go walk a few football fields in sub-zero temps to get a steak sandwich next door. Whoopie.

It's one thing to change the system, but with no notice whatsoever? And to steal what belongs to the players? That's deplorable.

And even with this new "comp system", how in the world is that going to be regulated? There was nothing in the comp interface that showed how much in comp dollars were earned on any particular date. How is anyone supposed to know exactly when anything they've earned will expire? Are the players now expected to keep precise track of their comp dollar earnings per each session?

I know for damn sure i'll be playing there alot less.

Simply put, the 2/5 players are more predictable. Crazy weekend 1/2 players are crazy and have no reason for their actions. They are harder to read and therefore, you have less comfort playing them.

Play where you feel more comfortable.

You can value bet 1/2 players so much more. I'm going to go with: sample size issues and increased rake to blinds ratio at 1/2.

I hope they do the right thing by people. I didn't lose a dollar, but I am playing elsewhere today on principle. It's almost like they are testing how much BS they can pile on the poker players before we stop showing up.
I am also a firm believer in free markets and hope that others will show their displeasure with mgmt and vote with their rake dollars

All this stealing comps is upsetting me. Now I heard that they stopped serving milkshakes.
I'm still going to play here at least 5 nights a week, but I'm not happy about it. Also, I'm pretty sure all the other disgruntled gamblers on here will be too. Seems to me the people saying they're not going here anymore are the ones that were not really ever there much to begin with. With all these people going elsewhere there probably won't be any games there tomorrow night when I go to give my nightly donations.

The policy change sans notice is pretty annoying. But, the issue was corrected on the spot last night. The erased balanced added back to current.

No need to overreact and send the dogs. I'm guessing someone "upstairs" decided to take a stab at a money grab. I'd be really upset if they took a hardline stance on the policy, which they are not...

p.s. More constructively, I made a recommendation that Some kind of a tracking system and online access to comps and transaction history is in order. My message gained extra acceptance when I mentioned that Borgata provides access to that kind of info on their website.

Played in the 12PM today. First time playing a Parx tournament and overall I was pretty happy with it. They ran a good tournament, but the TD was unnecessarily rude to the dealers at times.

Bubbled in 11th/95 unfortunately.

Can someone confirm to what extent the comps situation has been resolved? I'd like to play at Parx this weekend but will not if it has not been rectified.

I got $80 back from unused comps earned more than 60 days before Jan 1, 2012. Ask a supervisor I don't think a regular floor person can add the hours for you. You can still be losing comps every day dating back to November 2011 as far as I know.
