Strange. I just started playing $5/$10 NL ($10/$10 here obviously) two to three nights a week. I found quite the opposite to be true. In my first session I witnessed a regular frequently curse at the dealer and other players, and go as far as throwing a full cup of hot tea on the floor because he received the wrong order. The floor simply brushed it off as acceptable behavior. I spoke with the shift manager (forget who) and told him that this was completely unacceptable standards to be running a room, no less the high limit area. I was completely turned off and won't be back to Parx again unless there are tournament series or promotions going on. Had a horrible experience.

I agree, there are some regs with deep pockets who disrespect the dealers, the floor, the room, and the game itself on a regular basis. The Albanian clan in particular. But they're allowed to do what they want, because they drop heavy cash all over the casino.

Just the other night, around 3am, there were three 2/5 games going. one was full, one had a seat open, and my game was short...I think we were 6-handed. In walks one of the Albanians, he buys chips at the cage and seats himself at the other game, and the floor people and the dealer did not stop him. One of the players from my table complained, but the shift manager gave some B.S. excuse as to why it was ok. She said "I can't force him to play at a short game if he doesn't want to." Huh? Do you know how many times I've walked into the room, saw a great game with a seat open, but the floor said "sorry, I have to sit you at the short game over there. We have to balance the tables." never did I complain, I understand how it works. But apparently the same rules do not apply to everyone.

This is the main point I am concerned about as well. I won't say the player's name, but he was bald-headed and I'm sure everyone knows who I'm referring to. The behavior exhibited would have warranted some sort of punishment in any other sort of establishment whether it be a casino or any other place of business. Parx is an hour closer to me than AC, but I find myself willing to drive to the Borgata at this moment than to come and play much closer. I feel that Ari should take note of this (as he seems to do a fantastic job of, it is noticed and appreciated) and something should be done. If the worry is that chastising regulars who generate money for the casino will hurt bottom lines, it should also be noted that these regulars drive away many people who can fill those spots like myself who don't want to be surrounded by jerk offs.

+1. They do a great job here and the supervisors here have always been very responsive to any problems/concerns that I have had whether they be minor or major.

I think that it has less to to with deep pockets, regular status, or anything related and has more to do with how you approach/treat the staff and floor supervisors. If you approach them in a reasonable and respectful way, you will be alot more likely to see a resolution to your issues you are having. Based on your last few posts, I think you definitely have had some legitimate issues, but I also think you probably come off as whiny and demanding imo.

Pretty sure they kicked a guy out for being an ******* to floor people once and all the regs got on here bitching that they should let him do whatever so he keeps dropping money in the game. I guess it depends whether you play to win money or just to enjoy yourself....but everything has 2 diff sides. If you like borgata better then that is your preference. But you admit that you hardly ever play at parx but you think they should change what they do to accommodate your likes and dislikes, which seems kinda bass ackwards.

Thanks
$3 bring in and kill posts $3. game is then played at 9/18

This is correct. I do not agree with $9 because we are forcing the completion.

I have played over 100 hours at the $2/$5 NL game. I'm speaking strictly of my experience in the back area. I was also not alone in my opinion at either of the two tables I played at. Multiple players left the game when he arrived at the table because they did not want to sit with him, and the game broke very early in the night as a result. If you don't think that's bad for the game then you're crazy. I just have the balls to speak up.

You're being naive if you think money doesn't talk. Moreover, the floor made their ruling before anyone made a stink about it. In the example I gave about the player who sat himself at the fuller game, I didn't say a word, and the guy who did was super polite about it.

I generally agree with your posts, but this one surprised me. Not that Borgata's floorpersons are anything special, because they're not (and a few of them are horrendous), but I've seen countless errors and poor decisions made at parx. I guess the same can be said about both places. The only things I like better about parx would be the location and the 1k buy-in on the 2/5.

Btw the $2 chips are here to stay so you're going to have to manage.
Sorry wrong quote before

I was at Parx last week and thought they were still smoking at the bar.

Can anyone confirm that smoking at the bar has been eliminated

I'm not sure which demands you're referring to, but the ones you listed are common sense, and they all contribute to a more pleasant experience for the customer. And it's the customer that keeps parx in business, not the management. maybe you're talking about the wifi request? Doesn't affect me, the iPhone works fine. Besides, it annoys the crap out of me when players have their iPads out at the table.

But someone asked about the smoking at the bar, and from what I can tell, smokers now have to stand on the far side of the bar while they smoke. You know, because smoke stays in one place. But at least it's a step in the right direction, I'll give em that.

Why doesn't the bringin have the option to surrender their hand for $2 on a kill pot. If in all other kill pot games the blinds stay the same during the kill hand, why in stud does the bringin change for a kill hand? Makes more sense if the kill post $3, the bringin is $2 with the option to either surrender, call the additional $1, or complete to $9. Just my opinion.

This is the better way of doing it. I play this game 4-5x/week. But dude, it is only an extra dollar. BFD.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2011.09.08

For someone without a car -

What is the best way to get from NYC to Parx?

I'd like to play there, but even though AC is farther, the Bus System is so convenient, and inexpensive, I'm having a hard time justifying giving parx a shot - even if it is 30 or 40 miles closer.

Also where does everyone stay? They don't have rooms right? Should I just stick to AC?

FWIW this rule is awful and tilts the hell out of me, and I've heard it discussed at 2/5 numerous times, and every time the whole table (including the dealer) have thought it is ****ing ridiculous that out of turn bets are not binding when the action is unchanged.

It is only an extra dollar, which is why the bringin more times than not will call. The problem is, anybody who isn't a stud hi/lo fan to begin with, is just better off sitting out any hand where someone else is posting a kill. Why risk having to bringin $3 when you don't like playing the game anyway and most hands you would only have to bringin $2 if stuck with it. This wouldn't apply to me personally, but it would affect some who especially don't like playing shorthanded to begin with and are stuck in a shorthanded must move game.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2011.09.08

If anyone is interested in getting PLO or the PLO/NLHE mix game going, let me know. Not sure if this will be like when the room first opened when it was mainly regs passing money back and forth (I wasn't getting much back lol) but I'd be willing to give it a another shot.

Maybe it can get back to the glory days of the summer. Sigh. Just not a fan of NL at Parx. Nothing to do with Parx, maybe it's just a variance thing at 1/2 and stacks are kinda deep at 2/5.

A few of the regs from the summer and I are committed to getting PLO going at least once a week Mid-week, probably Tuesdays. I have a big text list of everyone that's played in the game that I'll be using to help re-build, any one else that wants to be on the list to be notified about games shoot me your info in a PM.
