I have no info. Just the fact that there was no freeroll for play in Aug, Spt, Oct. Defenders here were using the freeroll to explain how it was worth ~$200 per qualifier, hence around ~100 a month in giveback. If you throw in the 3 months without it becomes ~40.

All you do by rehashing this stuff is bore the crap out of everyone and make them want to troll you.

I go to parx cause its closer than the Borgata and the action is comparable, I suspect the vast majority of the players at Parx make the same calculation. I don't really care about the marginally higher rake, or the comps or the drinks or any other BS cause the games are very good. I don't really see the same thing you are seeing, the 2/5 game is the same as it ever was, very very good. Maybe you just aren't very good at the pokerz (sorry, you're asking to get trolled so hard I just couldn't resist anymore, u mad?)
I'm not to sure about some of this. The consensus among the better players I talk to is the 2/5 games aren't as soft and don't get as many casual players as Borgata and Chester anymore. The main reason they still play Parx is always either cause they prefer the $1000 buyin or convenience. In my case it is convenience and despite my whining that probably isn't going to change unless King of Prussia opens one. When it comes to Borgata, players have been saying they are playing there new because they are being treated so well (rooms, comps etc) When it comes to Harrahs it's because the games are "very , very good" despite the room being not so nice.

BriMc, not sure what makes you think the 2/5 games so good. Especially if you are who I think you are, which would be the dude who plays a little 2/5 while always trying to get the Omaha games going. Now obviously I wouldn't say you are a fish, buy also not unhappy to see you at the tables either.

My buddy and I signed up yesterday for the first time (my 3rd trip/his 1 st. I thought I might as well at this point). Don't think we got anything special. Played $15-$30 for about 4-5 hours and got $10 comp each. Enough to help offset the inflated prices at the noodle bar. Food there was OK for a casino noodle bar. Liked being able to eat at the table.

Rake doesn't bother me, $4+$1bbj is the same thing to me as $5 rake with no bbj regardless of what $0.000000001 of ev you might get from the bbj. Drinks cost money, this sucks and I agree. But really these are really, really nitty things to keep complaining and mass posting about.

One time the volume was too high for me. So instead of whipping out my iPhone and going to my 2+2 bookmark, I called the floor over and asked them to fix it.

That they do. In the random anecdotal rumor that you should trust no further than you could throw department, I heard that the reason they couldn't use urinal pucks was because of some environmental issue specific to their location. I can't really believe it, since I assume they feed into the regular sewage lines for the township just like everyone else, but take it for what it's worth.

I want to check out this poker room. Heard juicy games. But I like to have a cocktail or two while i play. Do they charge per drink while you're actually sitting in a game?? Ive never heard of this. Even my local "underground" club provides free beverages- soda, beer, wine.

going next weekend....never been? can someone fill me on on the 1/2, 2/5, PLO (if applicable), Limit hold em action, and also the deal with drinks? You really have to pay for them? This is not a joke? Also, how bad is the wait on the weekend nights, should I get there early? Any other info please.....

Non-alcoholic drinks are free(soda, coffee, tea, juice, hot chocolate and water) They do charge for all alcohol and the only "deal" they have on drinks is a buck-fiddy($1.5) for a miller high life(the champagne of beers)

LoL!!!

I asked two floor people who wouldn't or couldn't lower it (saying the volume was controlled at the bar because the sound was being piped over the main PA system) Then I asked shift manager who acted like it was crazy someone wouldn't want to watch a phillies game. Eventually he agreed to lower it though it was still too loud.
I understand that people like watching sports, for me it was just too distracting. Not that big of a deal I just won't play there while local teams are on TV if I remember. The room is dead on Sundays anyway so shouldn't be an issue after baseball season

Just called to start 1/3 PLO, anyone there to help start it? Wouldn't want to start it heads up, but 4 handed might work. Let me know.

I a huge Philly sports fan and this would be completely annoying. It's hard enough for me to focus with the games on let alone if the sounds was blasting me in my ears. It kind of reminds me of how at the MGM Grand they have that stupid ass bar playing really loud music for like 16hrs a day

how far is PARX from Philadelphia airport and how would be my best way to get there from the airport.

Does the 30/60 HOE still go mon/tue/wed? How many hours a day does it usually go? It starts around noon?

Thanks for the info

And what and where are good very good close hotels to stay at while there.

it's about 30 min from PHL. The best route is to just hop on I-95N and take it to the Street Road exit, then take that to Parx. Not that I suggest it, but if any poker room will do, you are much much closer to Harrah's Chester from PHL, maybe 5-10 min.

The past few pages have given the link to see when each game runs numerous times, have a look there.

I have no idea about hotels, but that has also been discussed repeatedly in this thread, and is in the first post FAQ.

It is confirmed that we are going to have a freeroll December 4th at 11am. Qualify Nov 1- Nov 30....60, 80, 100 hours to qualify.

Planning on going tomorrow during the day.

Last Monday holiday, the room wasn't prepared for the extra traffic; hoping Ari and crew have their act together for a Columbus Day rush.

Played about 7 hours of 1/2 at Parx yesterday. First time in a long time I've played 1/2 there as I'm not a regular, and when I go I prefer the PLO game. For being middle of the day on a Sunday, the action was ok. I'd say the table was 2 decent TAG players, one Asian woman who was either very good or a complete fish, 2 rocks, and 3 less than good players.

Tough to get into big pots unless it was a cooler, so cbetting was usually good to take it down. I was the only person under 30 at my table for a long time, so obviously everyone thought I was a maniac. There was basically no 3betting, a ton of limping, a ton of minraises, and a lot of checking the 2nd or 3rd nuts on the river. I made it my goal to get a straddle going, and only had a solid younger Asian guy straddle with me. It didn't hurt that to my right were the two most straight forward players at the table, neither of whom thought I could ever have a hand.

One thing I noticed was that a lot of players have no idea what to do when facing an over bet. I flopped the nut straight against the SB when I had straddled and got her stack when she called my overbet on the turn with top pair and a gutshot to a chop. On another hand the gentleman on my right called my river bet of 85 into a 50 dollar pot on the river, where I turned the 2nd nut flush, he told me I always bluff him in the 4 or 5 hands we played together, so he made the call with what I imagine was 2 pair. Only time my overbet wasn't paid off is when I shoved 90 into a 75 dollar pot on the river with a flush, where I thought my opponent had trips, turned out she laid down Aces. I'm sure she would have called a smaller bet, but I thought she'd call just about anything.

I definitely got my share of lucky hands. 55 > KK > 99 all in-pre, where I straddled UTG called, CO raised to 15, I 3 bet to 50, UTG shoved (not much more, less than 100), CO called (smaller stack than UTG) and I called because I'm a station. Flopped a full house, but I'm confident we get it in on the turn even if I flat CO. Another hand made flopped 2 pair, good Asian kid made a flush on the turn but didn't bet enough for me to fold (something like 20 into a 55 dollar pot), and I made a full house on the river where my 75 river bet got called.

Only hand I got unlucky in wasn't too bad. My BB got raised by UTG to 12, folded to me where I flat with AJ or KJ. Flop J10x, I donk, assuming he won't give me any sort of credit for a hand, he shoves, I call. He turns over 99, but makes runner runner straight. He was a good guy, but had a habit of kinda slowrolling without realizing it, no biggie.

Most interesting hand for me, the Asian woman to my left was using her position on me all session, calling most of my raises, but rarely (maybe once?) three betting me. She obviously thought she had an edge, and I'm pretty sure she's right, especially with position. I raise 15 in late position, she calls (I think from the cut off). Flop is A85. I check, she bets 20, I raise to 55, she calls. I ask her how much she has left, she looks calm, raises her hands out of the way but won't say how much it is, very Doyle of her. She has about 140 left, I check the Q turn and she shoves. Questions: What hands is she doing with this? What hands does she put me on? What is the weakest hand I can make the call with? After raising the flop, should I be betting/shoving any turn? I will give answers once I get a few replies.

When it was all said and done I had a roller coaster day, but booked a $450 win. Didn't hurt that I got to watch all the games, and listen to people complain about the Eagles and Phillies.

Only complaint is that drink service is terribly slow. The other table, Table 1 I think, even was loudly joking with the floor that the waitress must have gone on vacation. This didn't improve the entire time I was at the table.
