The reason that there is no 8-16 mix game is that no one shows up to play, they just talk on the internet about how they want to. I"ve tried 6 ways to Sunday to get it going and it just hasn't happened yet. It has nothing to do with if the room will spread it or not.

If we show up and start a game they will spread it.

Tables games are taxed at 16%, not 55%.

No one's arguing for higher casino profits. The point is that posting itt about getting the rake reduced has about as much chance of success as me posting in the Kate Upton thread that I want to bone her and having it happen.

So I played the 1/2 all Wed night long and went into work in the morning...LOL...I got a problem ha ha ha .....boy was it a rough day at work, anyways the 1/2 was fantastic, you guys weren't kidding when you told me its juicy, thanks! Anyways, let's talk about this new 2/3 game coming, I think the game should play like a typical 2/5 (500max)...seeing that the average chip stack will be very similar. The fact that if you get felted, you'll have to buy in for 300, this should make for a great deepstack, low blinds game....can't wait!

I agree, should be $300 to $500. I talked to Brandon about it, and he will mention it to Ari. I hope this game picks up, because I think it will be a great game to play in.

No need to make it 500 max, anyone who gets stuck will reload and play more loose aggressive and make the game even better! Just imagine half the table being stuck and trying to quickly double up...makes for crazy games

Seems like the new game is going to pull donators from one of the best games in the region (Parx 2/5 with max BI of 1k.). How is that even remotely a good idea?

If you're a winning rolled 2/5NL player, you should be against this. You can find multiple 2/5NL tables running at Parx, especially late at night, where the average stack size is $1500, and guys are stacking off with TPNK. The EV of good players at those tables approaches that of a tougher 5/10NL table, but with much less variance.

I'm sorry, but I don't get the point of $2/$3 with a $300 cap. Why not play $1-$2 with fish who are 150 BBs deep instead of just 100? When they stack off lite, they're just making a SMALLER $300 mistake instead of a bigger one in terms of SPR...

wish you were in the meeting before they decided to do this

especially if people open raise to $15 (which is my guess as to what will happen), it's going to be a shortish-stacked game...maybe there'll be more action that way but bleh...

i was hoping they would make changes to get moret a smaller 5/10 games so i could jump up at some point but it is I think u need like $30,000 minimum sitting around to be rolled for the $10/$10 game

i guess parx made it's decision to accommodate more smaller games / more tables / less people going broke / more rake.

oh well i'm just gonna play the game I can afford and not sweat parx decisions really

Lol yea, I doubt parx was thinking about the grinders when they thought this up.

So... Something is funny with the call in system.

I call and put my name on the list, just like I always do. I show up and see my name on the list, just like it always is. Then I ge called for my game and somehow, there is *supposedly* another player, who *supposedly* called in before me - yet who's name was not on the list, let alone ahead of mine. He gets my seat.

The floors explaination?

His name wasn't "checked" and it never was in the list. But, he called in before you and he is getting the seat.

WTF????????

The has never happened to me. Every time I call, when I get here, my name is onthe list(s).

Hmmmmm.... Seems funny to me.

We are going to test their model and see if it works. Mandalay Bay ran a 2-4, 400min/max and it was really popular at one time.

As you all know if doesnt work we will adjust.

Re 2/3 Game

I am sitting here in LAX, having spent a few days in LA LA land. Played a little Commerce. Wow! That place has A LOT of poker tables. For those who have never been there, I don't think you can imagine how many tables are going.

Played some Bike too.

Both places, played $2/$3 NL. Commerce with $100 max and at Bike with $300 max. PF raises were somewhat bigger, especially with the deeper buy in. But, the game played a fair bit bigger than 1/2 in contesteded pots.

On the East Coast, I am a recreational $1/2 NL player that usually buys in for the max or at least enough to cover the table. I will not play $2/5 any time soon. But, I would probably give a $2/$3 game with a $500 cap a try after playing $2/$3 out here an winning. That is good - move some folks like me from $1/2 up the food chain.

In any event, I say run the $2/$3 with a $500 max. The jump from 1/2 to 2/5 is huge.

Yea, that's it. It's just that simple.

On a Friday night, with one game going at this limit? It's not like it was for the 1-2 donk-fest, where there are 20+ tables available. You can wait more than an hour++ to get in this game - sometimes longer, if you are buried on the list.

My first point was that the person's name who got the seat, was below my name on the list, when I arrived. That should NEVER happen. The second point was the floor's explanation about how, "when you call in, your name (sometimes) does not "appear" on the list, until you arrive and check-in."

Had he told me the guy was on the dinner list - I would have bought that. Even so, he should, however, have been put at the top of the list when he returned from dinner.

As for the magical appearance/disappearance on the list when calling in... well, like I said, I have called in dozens of times (oh, like every time I go there) and each time I arrived, there was my name - somewhere on the list (unless they called it before I arrived, in which case - it was not there and tough **** for me). I never had to "check in" to become visible on the list.

Take away from this what you will. Ari, you know me well. You get where I am going with this, yes?

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2011.09.08

Im a 2-5 reg, I defintly think the 2/3 NL is going to thin out the field of weaker players. I think the great thing about the 2/5 with 1k max is weaker players buy in short for $300-$400, when they double or get chips and sit for long periods of time, their inexperince playing deep stacked catches up to them , and they stack off in horrible spots, i see it everyday. The 2/3 is going to take these players out of the player pool. Its going to be interesting during the week when this happens. Will 2/3 draw bust-outs from tournments? and new players away from the 2-5 action? The only postive i feel for this is for your reg 1-2nl player, who isnt rolled for 2-5nl 1k max, it will be a good stepping stone game. There is no postives for your reg 2-5player like myself and many others. I personally think it would be better if they made the 2/3nl a 200min -$500 max, and raised the min on 2/5, any other parx 2/5 regs agree?

I have seen this same thing two times I have gone there. There is definitely something unorthodox with the list/ calling in system. One time I was there I was first on list for 6/12OE, then all of a sudden I was 3rd on list. I questioned them about how I went from first to third, the desk woman gave some confusing answer and as I walked away she commented to other desk person and they both laughed. Another thing is the must move table, the main 6/12OE game is typically a regfest. The feeder game is where you want to be in my experience. You are supposed to move to main game as seriority at table comes due. For example, if seat 2 was at feeder game the longest and seat opens at main game, he must move over there. I have just joined feeder game on one occasion and I am 100% positive that I was by far newest at table and I was forced to move over to main game. There is definitely some preferential treatment going on at this place.

Two 2/3 tables going as of now ...I'm there by 8 and def up for 2/3 ....

And Ari, if your keeping track the 2/3 with a 300/500 buy in would be a great idea ..... way to big of a jump from 1/2 to 2/5 and this is a nice compromise

Yeah I'm liking it, please do not ever lower the 300 min but raising the max wouldn't be bad.
