Theres a thread here somewhere stating WPT changed mains to 3500. All tourney venues or some, not sure. The B is 3500 I believe.

Also, you play now for a tiffany card cap instead of bracelet apparently. WOOT!!

My vote on game report is NO. Going to try the new graph link in a minute.

I wish they would change the 1-2NL no limit game to 1-3NL like Aria in Las Vegas. That would be sensational. Do you guys agree?

In most others, including Parx (to the best of my knowledge, anyway), if the dealer says his cards are identifiable and retrievable, and the floor feels they should be made live, then they can be retrieved and made live. The fact that they were touching the muck is inconsequential, as long as the dealer tells the floor that that players cards are still identifiable and retrievable.

If the player had insisted the floor be called, he could have made his case to the floor. If the floor had ruled in his favor, then his hand could have been declared live.

Many posters here are split on whether or not what you described should be enough to convince the floor to make the hand live. One on end of the spectrum, some people believe that as long as the hand is still retrievable, the best hand should win, even if the player attempts to muck, then changes his mind. On the other side, some people feel that as soon as you take some action to muck your hand (e.g. tossing it forward over the line, even if it touches nothing else in doing so), it is dead. There is lots of room in between as well. In general, all agree that, barring exigent circumstances, the dealer should expeditiously muck any folded hand so that it is irretrievable, avoiding this whole situation.

I do agree with you, though, that since you were not involved in the hand, I would keep quiet about it unless the floor asked you what you saw, or if someone told the floor something which you could factually dispute.
I think that you're right about the "clear and identifiable" rule at parx. I was playing a bit last night and the table immediately adjacent had this issue. I have absolutely no idea how the hand was played, but the floor was called and he said that since the cards were "clear and identifiable" they were live. The other guy in the pot was rather upset by this ruling.

As I see some people bitching about dealers, I'll add my thoughts that I think the dealers here are pretty solid. Of the dozen or so who I had yesterday, all were at least decently quick and all but one of them were friendly. That particular dealer was actually a miserable douche, but at least he was fast. The cocktail waitresses working last night were tremendous... to look at, they were actually pretty slow though.

+ 1 to free drinks. I love drunk fish and I like to have a couple cold beers myself. If players could have a beer or three, the extra dollar in rake would be more acceptable to me.

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2011.09.08

I am going to be in town in 2 weeks and will be playing poker for sure but my question is related to video poker. Can anyone here tell me how must cash in you need to earn 1 point. They have a sign up promo for new players and I am trying to calculate if the ev is worth the promo.

I also read on the first page that o8 runs regularly, Is this still the case? What limits run on a Friday night and what time do the tables break?

I heard it was well below 100, like 60 or 70. Not entirely sure that's true, but I believe it. Still don't understand starting it at 12 instead of 2.

I read a lot of the same casino threads that you frequent. I think the mod deletes a lot of your posts because they are either belittling other players or are just bashing other posts. I also noticed two of your previous posts that were deleted on the parx thread, one was trying to belittle a SNG player and another I believe was making a fool of someone for their comments. I applaud the mods for deleting the unbeneficial/ bashing posts, they are not helpful or productive for anyone. We should be learning from one another and answering questions about the casino that some of the regs may know or from others' experiences, not putting down players for questions or comments.

I think low turnout for the tourn is also related to the fact that borgata poker open is going on now too. Room seemed slower than normal this weekend in general.

Could someone tell me how good the action at 1/2 is, I check the live game reports all the time and see a nice amount of tables all the time. Do these games get deep like they do at the Borgata? Thanks!

Parx is going to start spreading $2/3NL with a $300min/max starting Saturday 9/17/11 at 12pm. Thoughts?

In addition to $1/$2? And "$300min/max" - is that a typo, or does everyone have to buy in for exactly $300?

I like it, but it will probally only attract good players, so no one will play it.

Hopefully, there is an October freeroll. I havnt been to Parx in a month. I need incentive, I'm lazy.

does anybody think the 2/3 game would play more like a ''standard'' game as far as pre-flop raise sizing and such? maybe less compensation for donkification....?

Re: Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ updated 2011.09.08

First, this is my first post regarding parx. I've gone maybe a dozen times so far and like the room. I've see some marked improvement and they really seem interested in providing a quality product. More waitresses would be nice but I'll leave that for another post...

But, does Parx have a "must show if called" rule? Do any/most casinos have this rule?

I like this rule because it makes the final river bet meaningful. You can pay to see a players hand for future information if they make a silly min bet on the river. For a raiser it adds the pressure of having to show down a hand.

Mostly, at parx though I think it would speed up the game. There were SEVERAL times on Saturday night where two 'novice' players, after making river bets/calls just stared at each other. FOR A WHILE! Sometimes, it was a bluff losing to a small pair, or small pair beating a draw. Either way, it seemed like their hands were always weak and either player would have rather mucked.

I lost count of the amount of times I heard the dealer say: "Someone show me a winner..." Or a bettor showing a single card for middle/bottom pair. "Both cards please..."

If the person being called was compelled to show when called, it would save a lot of time. Thoughts?

Are the $10 chips in yet? One happy medium, since the 15/30 Mixed Game doesn't seem to have taken off, is to go 10/20. That seems to work in AC.
