It's a business. Do you think they're going to spread poker games for $20 a person a night? Also I see a lot of people saying 25% more rake than Ac. It really comes down to 1 extra dollar in rake. So tip the dealer $1 Instead of $2. You're willing to risk $1k on the table to play with and you're crying about a $5 rake instead of $4?

I went to parx for yesterday's limit tourney and I can honestly say the whole experience impressed me. The room was run well and the tourney had a sick structure for a $200 event. I hope they include more non Holdem tourneys in the future. I'll definitely be back!

DJ- Drew is gonna get your money soon, than the rake will not seem like such an issue! P.S. after you sign will you be bitching about all the money he's getting from you?

It cost me another $16 a day in rake X 5 days a week = $80 a week X 50 weeks = $4000. So, yes, I'm complaining about an extra $1 per pot 100% of the time. Casinos are run by people. These people are trying to squeeze us, squeeze back. Parx should come out with a PARX POKER DOUBLE BLACK ELITE CARD for people that play 200 hours a month. lol

Well now instead of pumping the borgata you are just straight trolling now. I could say the same thing about alcohol, I can't just make alcohol and sell it without proper licensing. We live in a society that has certain rules and regulations that must be followed. If you want to work on changing those I believe there is a whole forum devoted to politarding. Should be a few links down on the left.
Gas is too expensive, drivers are the most ripped off group of people. I could make broad opinionated statements too.

If I want to drive I have to buy gas, if I want to play cards I have to pay rake.

PM me when you open your $20 unlimited poker room that also sells gas at 50 cents a gallon, I will be there for sure.

Agreed with this, and I am willing to pay up to like $10/mo for this even.

Also the free market is overrated. And I like 9 handed/straddles/buying buttons. And I like the staff here. And I don't want supernits playing here just to hit a bbj. Alcohol should definitely be free though.

supernits dont play where they have jackpots, they play at the WYNN in las vegas where there is NO jackpot drop and is why the games there suck.

The long term payout is slightly evened out by the fact that you get paid for being at the table when it hits too. And who cares about statistically significant sample sizes. EV is EV. I'd rather not have a BBJ don't get me wrong, but don't act as if $4+$1bbj is the same rake as $5.

I'm not saying its the same, but the value added by the EV (again, lol) of the situation is so small to the vast majority of the player pool, its not worth mentioning.

Sure, EV is EV, but you still have to have the time and the BR to fade the variance and collect on it. Here's an example, I have 1 mirron you have 10k, The coin is weighted .05% in your favor. We do 1k flips till one of us busts. Do you want to play?

Re: PARX Poker Thread -- FAQ updated 2011.06.21

I have gone to Parx the last few days and it is a nice room. The one major problem was that on tuesday i got there at around 7pm and signed up for 15/30 lhe. I was 9th on the list and was originally told a new game would be called. Before they did one or two players got up from the existing game so they didn't call it. Then the list got to over 10 players about 30 min later (~50 min total) and at that point I was told that they couldn't call the game because they had no dealers! No new dealers were coming in until 10pm and the game didnt start until then. About 4 or 5 people were stuck waiting the full 3 hours for the game to be called, and the floor people never even offered a free drink while we waited. Over the course of that time at least 2 new 1/2nl games were called and a 1/3plo game started so they obviously did have some dealers. I like the games at Parx but waiting 3 hours and being lied to is just unacceptable.

It doesn't run often but I'd be very surprised if it did NOT run tonight. With all the "big" names in town and the 2k tomorrow I'd expect there to be at least 1 10/20 or 10/25 running.

The 10/10 will definitely run. Probably 2-3 games by tonight and its pretty easy to talk the table into running a mandatory straddle for at least 1 round per dealer. The game plays pretty big anyway so its not the worst thing in the world being "stuck" at the 10/10 game.

I am planning on coming down Saturday night. I am thinking that later in the day as people get knocked out of the main event the 10/10 NL and 10/20 NL or 10/25 NL (whichever runs) are going to be great games.

Not the first time that's happened. I've stayed away on Tuesdays because of this.

Re: PARX Poker Thread -- FAQ updated 2011.06.21

I agree with skeemer1 and MacGuyV . When Parx opened, I was going about once a week or 2 on Saturday or Sunday to play the $15 game. I was enjoying it and started going on Fridays quite often as well, which meant I was showing up at least once a week and often twice a week. Then I ran into the same problem a number of times on Friday evenings - they couldn't start a new game because of a lack of dealers, but meanwhile I'd hear new $1-2 games being called. I realize there are many more $1-2 NL players than $15-30 LHE players, but if there are already 20 $1-2 tables going, those players will get seated quickly even with a long list. However, with only 1 or 2 $15 games going, it can be a long wait. I found myself several times just walking out in frustration after waiting an hour or 2. I haven't been going this summer as often, but I plan to start going more often again in the fall. I hope this problem gets resolved. If not, we $15 players should have a mutiny!

They definitely will be. The fact that there are not free drinks + no hotel attached hurts the game's potential a bunch, but sober fish are still pretty bad

Re: PARX Poker Thread -- FAQ updated 2011.06.21

I'd personally be more interested in seeing a coin weighted 0.05% in someone's favor.

Once again, it's been very impressive that PLO has been running almost everyday. I played yesterday and only recognized a couple players, so it's good that there is a large player pool. The game got bumped up to 5/5 after a certain player was stuck a few buyins and I promptly left, having doubled up to a small win a few hands ago after being in the game for a few buyins.

I think I'd like to stop by tonight just for some $1/2 around 10:00. can anyone comment as to how the wait list is affected from the usual with the tournaments? should I call 15mins before I get there, 30mins, etc? or is it pretty unaffected?

It's effected somewhat but when there is a list the wait for 1/2 is still very negligible. You should be fine without calling.

I'll pay an extra dollar rake on top of the $5 to not hear BBJ conversation at the table
