I'm pretty sure they will have August freeroll. If you login at the kiosk to check your balance, there is a part for August Freeroll. I'm thinking very similar to one that just took place.

Only problem is that it usually breaks early due the demographic of the table, i.e. - older people.

Curious...Would a 8/16 or 10/20 HOSE have a chance of going on a Saturday afternoon/evening ?
[brokenrecord]Get 4 people together that agree to sit and build the game once a week. Agree to a specific time and to play a minimum number of hours. See if it fills up. [/brokenrecord]

Sometimes you have to sit in a not ideal situation to build a game. Play short at a table of all competent players and see what happens.

I'd be interested in playing if we added an equal amount of NLHE and PLO to the mix, and if we could switch every 9 hands like they do in the big 2/4 mix game. Wednesday would probably be a logical day since most people wouldn't want to give up a weekend day in their regular game, and thats the day that the big game is playing.

Now lets see if we get 2 more.

Yes, that is a definite, what I was talking about was a Series of tournaments with a 2500 main that I heard was in the works several months ago, once they got dailies going. I haven't heard anything about it since that conversation in March though.

The $230 got about 140. I'd guess well over 200 for tonight.

Awesome I will start the list when i get there if one isn't started already!

If we do 15/30 it should be 2/5plo 1k cap and 5/10NLHE 1k cap

It was pointed out to me that it would have to be 15/30 HOSE, not 8/16 otherwise we'd be mixing red chip games with blue chip games and thats a nightmare.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

Regarding the chips...

They aren't too bad as a whole, clean enough for me. Although occasionally there are some really dirty ones, heard it talked about at the tables a fews times. IMO not a huge issue but something to keep an eye on.

Regarding the bathrooms.... The urinal area in the mens room smells so god awful half the time I have to take a piss in the toilets. Or course I have to check usually about 4 of them to find one not full of piss unflushed. Parx is really lacking here. The bathroom attendents here really might be the worst ever. I can't count the number of times the bathroom is really dirty and that young black dude is sitting there with his phone in one hand and IPOD in the other messing with them. Then my other favorite is seeing whichever attendent leaving the bathroom as if he just finished his round but it's still a complete mess. I feel like grabbing them and asking them where they are going and what the heck did they do in there.

I'm not sure how hard it is to find some mexicans or illegal imigrents to work the bathrooms but it would be worth the trouble cause it is pretty gross in there.

Standing in line for the $120 tourney now. There are about 150 already registered, 25 in front of me, and about 40 behind. Was told there is no cap on # of players and registration is open til 7:40.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

I busted around 10:45 around 80th. Was pretty card dead all day so not much I could do. When I left around 12:30 there were 32 left with 27 paying. Talked to a very good mtt player and another solid live plo player at my tables, live poker is definitely not getting easier.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

Just got in from the tournament. Wow is all I can say..lots of land mines to dodge in that one. The tournament itself ran fairly smoothly considering the number of players and learning curve of the tournament floor staff. I was knocked out with about 40 or so left. The payout structure though is way too flat.

I played at 2 tables tonight. The first table was honestly one of the worst I have ever played at. I felt like I was playing 2-4 limit, tournament style! The second table was much better, and I finally felt I could start to play poker and not bingo. But unfortunately I was not able to overcome my chip deficit and was out somewhere around 40-50.

Overall, I had a good time, but would like to offer a couple suggestions..first...30 minute levels, at least starting after the first break. I realize you want to move the tournament along, but the shove fest began way too early. Second, make the payout structure a little more top-heavy. First place should make significantly more than what they did today, with that many runners.

Anyway..I had a good time despite my outcome. Probably won't be changing my weekly tournament schedule to include this one on a regular basis, but it was definitely a learning experience, and I'll probably be back in the fall to try again!

Re: PARX Poker Thread

Agree with AC_PokerChick on the level of play. I played at 5 tables and finished in 8th place. I think I came across one other player who knew how to adjust his play to the other stack sizes at the table, let alone their own stack.

As for the structure, they might as well call this a turbo. The chip average after the 4th or 5th level was about 15 bbs. Final table was even less. Also, +1 to the steeper payout structure.

All in all I had fun and will be playing when they have some higher buy in stuff.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

That structure is as good as you're gonna get in a weekday daily tourney. After the first break and an hour of play it's 100-200 w/ a 25 ante. I wouldn't mind a 500-1000 level or something like that added in, but this structure mimics the Borg and even has lower antes for a few levels.

With 30 min blinds we'd be there til 5am. You guys wanna hang out til 5am every Tuesday? I thought the payouts were fine. A tad flat, but still top heavy, basically giving 10th place a moderate profit. When it's a shove fest(as these weeklies tend to be), you need to get some folks in the money before it becomes straight push & pray or it'll get too frustrating. I'd have been happy with $5k off a $120 buy-in. Also, the main reason it was so flat was that we just hit the 250 threshold whereas if we'd had 249 I believe they pay 18.

Cheers to the floor for handling 253 people when they expected 150, but at the same time why were you only expecting 150? 300 was more likely than 150. Lots of new dealers and they did a good job IMO.

Bathroom was clean, couldn't smell smoke, loved the $1.50 High Life

Re: PARX Poker Thread

And did they chop? Final table straight chop would be ~$1700 each, right?

Give the two short stacks $800 and the rest $2k. I'd like to see chops become the standard for these Tuesday nighters. No one needs to sit around til 3am and it's a crap-shoot anyway.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

Oh my those 1-2 games late night between 4-7 is the spot to be. I always head up around 2 when the drunkies are cookin and the regs who've been playing since 9 start tiring and making horrible plays. Third time out of 5 I've been there past month I've left with 1k + profit. At 1-2. Since parx 2-5 is 1k max I'm going to need 7 or 8 good sessions to move up.... Anyone play 2-5 there regularly, I'm curious if it plays that much bigger than 2-5 100 min 500 max, which is only 2-5 I've eve sat in.

P.S anyone sitting at the 1-2 table with the crazy asian with the blue hat who splashed chips , who came in around the same time (4-530) as the Italian guy who supposedly played much higher but was giving the word aggressive a new meaning. Like re raise allin for 250 after the flop......oop in a 7 way limped pot.... With k high. Should have never left
