So is there a link out there with the tourney structure for Tuesday nights? I don't see one on the site.

And for anyone who still does not know, the chips were designed before the poker room for the table games.

I have been asked several times for change for the bus. Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking on people asking for change, it's a free country, all I am saying is maybe put a security guard at the door or a red coat even. I mean there are 20 of them doing nothing inside the card room....

I've played a lot of 4-8 and 8-16 limit which uses mostly $2 chips and yeah, that little red part at the side can easily look like a $5 from the wrong angle.

Action out of turn should be binding
Action out of turn should definitely be binding when it induces further action and this is not the case at Parx. I got angle shot by a fish who checked out of turn and induced me to act. The first two players hadn't acted but I couldn't easily see them at the opposite end of the table, the third player checked, and then I checked. The dealer said, "Hold on, these two haven't acted" and after they checked, the fish then bet. Before I could even complain another player not even in the hand said "Hey, he can't do that" but the floor ruled his check out of turn wasn't binding. That's an absolutely terrible rule when the check out of turn induces further action and I'm certain I've never played in a single cardroom that allowed a player to shoot such an obvious angle.

(As an aside, I wouldn't normally call the floor when a fish does something like that if it's accidental, but a) a player not in the hand brought it to the dealer's attention who them called the floor and b) the fish was acting like a real turd, he kept playing hands where opponent flopped the nuts, fish turned a flush with his T3s or whatever, and opponent re-sucked on the river, either with a flopped nut straight that made a bigger flush when the 4th card hit, or a set that wins when the board paired. Fish then berated the other player for how lucky he was, nevermind the other player flopped the nuts and the fish had no business playing his T3s! There were several hands that basically unfolded the same way with the rant from the fish.)

Dealers should be encouraged to "actively" run the game and enforce the rules
Some of them are good about that but others are clueless. I'll detail some of the ridiculous things I saw at Parx in a later post.

Quote:
...As suggested in the past...
Massage girls
Group rate at motels nearby
I'd suggest combining the two options but there have been a lot of recent busts in Bensalem...

Rather than vending machines I'd like to just see a self service soft drink section since it often takes way too long to get a soft drink there.

Also the other person's post about the security guards is pretty valid. I'm frankly amazed at how many security guards they have inside; I've never seen a casino with anywhere close to that many security guards in my life, and yet I have literally never seen one patrolling the outside. The main purpose of the security guards inside seems to be carding people, and it's a bit annoying the casino would spend that much money on security guards to cover its own ass without worrying about the safety of customers outside.

Anyone have some feedback on how the tournament structure was on Saturday? I'd like to play tomorrow night's first ever Tuesday Parx tourney, but I'm not a huge fan of 20 min blinds. Was it similar to this structure I found posted that is supposedly the freeroll structure? This one doesn't look terrible.

Please install some hand sanitizers around the columns in the poker room.

Kinda absurd this has yet to be done.

I played the freeroll and it was a very fast structure, I'm surprised they are using the same for a raked tournament.

To be clear the structure I posted was the freeroll and the only Parx one I could find. No idea what the Saturday structure was or what Tuesday's will be. That's what I'm trying to find out.

I picked up the structure sheets when I was there on Friday night, but I have them at home at the moment and will post in full later if someone else hasn't.

From what I remember, the Tuesday and Saturday structures are exactly the same. The differences (other than cost) is that Saturday has 30 min levels and Tuesday has 20.

Both take out 3% from the prize pool for staff. And there are 15 minute breaks after level 3, 7, and 10.

As far as what you posted, I know there are some definite differences from the freeroll structure. I know it starts 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, then 100/200 w/ 25 ante and goes from there.

That sounds about right. I talked to Brandon a couple of days ago and told him that the breaks are too long. If they plan on getting the Tuesday night tournament done by 2am they should at least drop the breaks to 10 min instead. 15 min just seem too long imo.

I agree and I'm even a smoker who appreciates the breaks. 10 mins is more than plenty. Thanks for the info guys.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

10 min breaks FTW

Hand sanitizers ( as mentioned this should be a no brainer )

And please clean the chips.....I mentioned this a while back and they still haven't been cleaned.... lets not let this turn into the Taj ...Nothing nastier imo

And it certainly wouldn't hurt to have a security presence outside of the Poker room besides the trucks driving around.... Alot of money coming in and out of those doors.

Thanks Ari

To be honest, I'd be very surprised if they cleaned the chips. It's a pretty arduous task especially since they are still in fairly new condition. It would take a lot of time and money to do this properly every couple months.

Humidity is a major reason that the chips stick together. As the weather changes, there will be variances in how the chips perform. Even if they regularly clean the chips, I dont think you will ever really solve the problem of sticky chips.
