How often does 30/60 LHE run during the week? Is there ever anything higher than 30/60?

The score for Parx already occurred before today.
Getting the 500 and change to procure the time needed is the money maker.
Then throwing a few crumbs back of their money back makes the room look generous.
Its a good marketing ploy but don't think Parx is taking any kind of loss on this.

Runs I would say 3-4 times a week, but it is fairly unpredictable. Usually it gets started by someone asking around in the 15 game if anyone else wants to play. Like right now there are 3 15's going, if someone took the initiative and the right people would play (fish like myself ) it would likely go. Saw a 75/150 once, and on occasion there is a 200/400 mixed game going. But obviously those people are fairly self contained and communicate to each other that they will be there.

Free roll tourney was run very smoothly. ~540 ish players and the staff really knew their stuff.
I liked when it was hand for hand on bubble they stopped the clock and took off 2:00 min. To prevent stallers. Good call.
I min cashed btw.

Kudos to parx for the freeroll running so smoothly. Sure the structure was pretty rough but the tourney went off really without problems.

Haha, smooth running, even with the fire drill about 10 minutes into it.

Tourney ran great. It is definitely a turbo feeling tourney - pretty early on it became a shove fest.

They announced the next freeroll in August. Need 100 hours over June and July combined. (So we might have more than 600 qualify this time?)

Except for yet another fire alarm malfunction... After having to play an extra day to get my sixty hours after the evacuation at the end of April, another malfunction was a bit annoying. The monitors being down caused a lot of problems at my table since we had several players who'd never played tournaments before and the dealer at my table was obviously new to dealing tournaments, so him having to constantly remind players of the current antes/blinds was a hassle.

I ended up at the seat that was at the absolute farthest away from the front of the room and had to listen to the idiotic noise from those electronic blackjack machines in the back--I'm pretty good at drowning out background noise, but between the fire alarm and the blackjack machines I think I gained a lot of experience today!

But yes, on the whole the tournament went pretty smoothly for the first one in the room.

For anyone who's played the 5-10 game how does it compare to the 2-5 game, is there a noticeable difference in callable of play?

It used to run almost regularly but not lately its a hit or miss proposition.
It's not really a walk up game has a specialty audience.
The 6/12 2 way game IMO was too close in stakes(maybe have made it 8/16 or 10/20).
The room at this time does not seem to be able to sustain both at the same time.

Depends a lot on the day but in general there is not much of a difference imo. A lot of times the 5-10 seems to be a lot more nitty which is a bit annoying.

I personally think 2-5 is a better game to play during the week. Obviously it depends a lot on who's in the game.

i think 2/5 is usually better than 5/10. If there is more than one 5/10 going though there are usually some soft spots. I usually stay at 2/5 though as it is pretty easy, very few good players...lots of nits, but not many really good players

1-2 NLH (Daily)
4-8 LH (Daily)
4-8 O8o (Rarely...Runs most Saturdays)
6-12 O.E. (Daily...until 6:00pm)
8-16 LH (Rarely)
I prefer the OE game over the O8 because it is 6/12 (+1/2 kill for the O8 rounds), rather than 4/8. I wanted to move up from 4/8 stakes, but the 8/16 hold'em game rarely runs during the hours that I play and the jump from 4/8 to 15/30 is too big. You can't build a roll for 15/30 in a reasonable time playing 4/8.

I'd love to see 8/16 holdem run more often, or if not that, then let's get a 4/8 with a kill going.

Can anyone comment on how early the 5/10 gets running on Thursdays?

A few more tournament reflections. This is really nitpicky stuff - as mentioned earlier the tourney really ran quite well overall. Kudos to the Parx staff who got it all done with aplomb.

* Turn the volume of the countdown clock displays up a tad, it was hard to hear them at times, even when sitting right next to one. Maybe only do this on the tournament side of the room, I can see how it would irritate the cash game players if they had to listen to it, too.

* Get a mic for the TD. Even when we were down to 10-15 tables, half the dealers couldn't hear his instructions for stopping, going hand to hand, blind/ante increases, etc.

* I know the countdown display is fed by the Bravo system, so I'm not sure how it could be anything but real time (or close), but somehow it felt like the "players remaining" display wasn't really accurate and was often lagging behind significantly. While true that this was mostly the case before we got to the bubble when it really mattered, more, timelier info is always better for players who are trying to make decisions based on these bubbles.

Very true. Also on weekends call ahead and go on the list. There's sometimes a long wait or games. If you

Will the daily tourneys have 10K starting stacks and 20 minute levels?

They will have 10k starting stacks. Allegedly they will have longer levels and/or a slower structure, but I don't know the details.

I play the 5/10 everyday mon-fri. I've seen it get started as early as 11 and as late as 1. Its really impossible to guess when its going to start up bc its mostly regulars who get the game started and if 2 or 3 of them don't show up, it throws everything off.

Yesterday we played 3-4 handed for maybe 2 hours before the game filled.
