They can plan all they want. They will get a table or two of 4/8 running and maybe a reg filled table of 10/20

2. They are planning Vegas style stakes for limit games (YAY!) - 4/8, 8/16, 15/30, 30/60.
3. Initial opening will only be 24 tables due to some absurd PA legislation about the number of tables vs the number of slots. There are plans to increase it in the future
4. People believe that Parx will grab a huge market share from Harrah's Chester
5. No limit players seem to despise limit players

I think that pretty much sums up 27 pages/400 posts. If anyone sees something I got wrong, please correct it.
Thank you very much

Do you know what the plan is for 30/60? $10 chips would be great in that game, but perhaps that's not feasible?

I have no idea what the plan is. I would think that the first question would be to see if there is any demand for that game.

In fact, that is going to be the first question for all higher limit games. Is there sufficient demand for them?

Nobody will know the answer until after the room opens. And probably not until after some time goes by and the expansion happens, at that.

Looks like the town approved the next phase of expansion... of course the PGCB still needs to grant permission...

Bensalem OKs 40-Percent Expansion at Parx Casino

KYW Newsradio
8/24/2010 11:37am

The Bensalem town council has given the “thumbs up” to Parx Casino for a major expansion project that will add more table games to the casino floor.

KYW’s Brad Segall reports that the expansion of nearly 90,000 square feet will add nearly 40 percent more space to the casino and most of that will be used for gaming, lounges, and restaurants.

Parx has more than 3,500 slot machines and table games were added last month (see related story).

Bensalem mayor Joe DiGirolamo says the expansion should be good for business:

“They only have 57 tables there, and if you look around, some of the other casinos already have over a hundred, some of them. So they need the room.”

Casino officials hope to add tables for poker, larger baccarat tables, and some Asian games as early as this fall.

The planned addition will be located in the back of the casino building, and Parx has agreed to make some transportation improvements in the area.

Casino officials also revealed that they plan to ask the state for permission to put table games in the grandstand at the adjoining Philadelphia Park horse-racing track.

It would be really cool if this is where they are planning on putting their Poker Room. Philly Park is a really nice race track!! Nothing like betting on a couple of Ponies while playing some cards.

I agree about having only 1-2 tables of 4/8. The ol' timers/low rollers will b%$ch & moan for 2/4 & 3/6. That'll steer them towards Harrah's Chester or down to AC.
But, I have to disagree about the 8/16 & 15/30 limits. Just a hunch, but I think both will go over very well.

Of course if Parx opens with only 24 tables, it might be hard to get anything going other than 1/2 & 2/5 NL.

I heard a regular 15/30 and 30/60 game should be going. Any truth to this?

parx is ten minutes from my place. cannot wait fro the room to be open. my question is, since it will be in the building where the pony betting/view of track is, will the legal age be 18 to play? SO many young rich kids in bucks county i would probably end up moving to street rd....

You're comparing available money in a town, to a county? NS isn't ALL that, is it?

Parx is the highest grossing casino in the state - the local demographics and higher income levels relative to "the rest" of Pennsylvania certainly have a lot to do with it.

Again 8/16 only works if $2 chips (ok, $4 work too) are available. Ari, are they there?

Previously, it was reported showing your premium card got you $150 in slot play, it is now $75. I can confirm that. ( I did not report the $150, although, it probably was higher prior to their opening table games )

Again, it IS $75 in slot play for showing your premium card and signing up for their premium card.

I think that there might be some cofusion over what a "premium" card is. Premium means something along the lines of Harrah's Diamond Card or Borgata Black card. Show one of those and get $75 in slot play.

Show an elite card, such as Harrah's 7 Star or Borgata Titanium, and you get the $150 in slot play.

I just checked their website and the offer is still good.
