So I live in CC, without a car and am interested in going to Parx. As best I can tell it will take me as long, or longer than going to AC (95 min). The quickest way of course would be to take Regional Rail to a station nearby, and then a cab for the last couple of miles. I'm hesitant to attempt this though, because after looking on Google streetview the stations don't appear to be that large, or have cab stands.

Has anyone gotten a cab from a RR station? Is one station particularly better than the others. Nearest ones appear to be Eddington, and Trevose.

not sure of the time it takes, but there are buses that run there from Philly (but not the stations nearby)

I'm strictly a NL girl, but I have at least 1, maybe 2, recruits for you guys tonight. I can be talked into plo after drinking, but I'm historically very luckbox-y at poker when drunk, so I'm not sure you want me to play

No problem I'm just trying to start up a PLO game.
Plan on starting around 830-900ish.

Yes, I did find the bus. However it starts at the end of the Blue line at Frankford and takes an additional hour on top of the 30 min ride on the EL. For all that riding, I could just easily take Jersey transit to AC and go to the Borg.

You may have yourself a deal, Mr. Face. It'll be a gametime decision.

figured that was probably the case, seems kinds dumb that they don't have transport from the rail lines. Have you called them to see if they run shuttles?

I haven't called them, I just scoured their website and found nothing. Google came up empty as well. I personally don't understand why they wouldn't shuttle people between Center City and the casino...seems like the logical move to me.

Question of etiquette: For 4/8 LHE should I buy in with the $2 chips or are the $5 chips fine?

I usually buy 1 or 2 racks of blues when i play 4/8 o8 on occasion, followng the rest of the table, so id imagine the same can be expected at the lhe tables.

I'm mostly in the same situation, I live in CC and my wife and I only have one car, and she works in the suburbs so she has the car most days. Getting a cab in the suburbs is typically such a pain that I just take the bus, but you're right, it isn't significantly faster to get to Parx than it is to get to AC. Typically it's about a 75 minute trip on the El to Bridge and Pratt and then the 50 bus to Parx. The other advantage to AC is that the buses back to CC run all night whereas you can't easily get from Parx back to CC late at night.
