^Thanks for the details. We couldn't really make out exactly what was going on from the table behind you. That guy was pretty pissed though. The kid with the headphones should have just kept quiet though.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

It was great to see IFSATG again and catch up on mutual friends.
What happened after he left was the five remaining players insisted on a rake-free game instead of the standard half time. A game that full of rocks deserves to die, and it did.

Dealing Stud 9-handed is as asinine as playing 4/8 LHE with stacks of red chips.

I have grown to hate the habits of East Coast players. The poker world does not revolve around what was done in AC during the early 90s.

Slim, the game has pretty much died mid week, it still gets off on the weekend, it went for 12 hours on Friday, started at 1/2, then one other player and I kicked it up to 2/5 so we could play heads up ($3/hh FTW!) when everyone else left, fun times.

Today is Valentines day so a lot of people are probably not available, but I'm up for a Friday repeat for sure, possibly even Thursday too if we can get it started.

As long as the game starts it will fill up. I'm willing to start as short as heads up to get it going (as long as they will give us no rake to get it started)

Playing "Stud" as 9 handed is not correct - agreed.

However, given that this game was *not* a stud game, but rather a mixed game of O8 and Stud-8, then all 9 players should play in the Stud-8 round.

And, FYI... this is not an east coast tradition. The game is played like this in every casino that spreads an OE game. They seat 9 players and they play both games with 9 players. The reason that it is played this way is because: a) it's not stud, it is stud-8; b) it's a rotation game; and c) in these games, you don't get 9 players seeing the river card.

Is 2/5 at PARX tougher or softer? Is squeezing a lot less profitable since it's not time raked? Are weekend games significantly softer? Also, how are the 1/2 and 5/10 games compare to AC?
The major difference is that Parx is $1k max $200 min. I love that because it bridges the gap between 1/2 and 5/10 a lot better than $100 min $500 max. On that note I think Parx is better because I think my edge playing deepstack poker is relatively higher. I have never been to borgata on a weekday so I can't comment on softness during the week but I'd imagine it's similar on weekends.

I agree. I love the ability to play deep stacked. And the $200 min really has the game play better since you don't have nits buying in for $100 and trying to get it in all the time. I think that the play at Parx is a bit softer than the Borgata but that's only with about 40hrs of 2/5 play at Parx and far more at the Borgata.

[QUOTE=Coasterbrad;24782258
Was anybody at the table in front of the bar when there was an argument and a guy apparently pulled a switch blade form his pocket? [/QUOTE]

I guess this may be a good time to ask this question...

Has there been reports of any problems \ crime in the parking lot? Its a pretty big lot, not very well lit the further you are from the front, and could be the perfect ingredients for some one to take advantage of any individual walking out of the poker room with a pocket full of cash.

Are there any plans for a valet in the future, if there isnt one already? I noticed the front looked like it is \ could be set up to handle it, not sure if that's in the plans. Is there any security on staff, patroling the lot??

I had to park pretty far away when I went late one Friday night, and wouldn't had thought twice about paying for valet instead of where I had to park.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

Played today for roughly about 6 1/2 hours at 1/2, had a very good active table. The thing that made my day was laying down a low straight to attempted over bet disguised as a bluff bet but higher straigh. Me 95 d's board 49673, villain 8 10 Saved myself about 150 that hand. All in all another good experience at parx again even though I lost 60 bucks. I will be back !!!!

Re: PARX Poker Thread

hahaha good stuff last couple posts. But I do not think there have been reports of crime yet. I do see some security cars when I leave late at night. The main problem is that they need to fix that massive 10 foot pothole(not exaggerating).

Also, winning or losing at a casino should definitely dictate whether it is a good room or not.

Did not see the potholes today, made sure that I kept a eye out for them after hearing the stories. Maybe I took a different route into the lot.

It is in the very front row, behind the single row of cars? Btw, your name looks familiar, were you at the 2+2 event at BOrgata last May playing PLO? I think you might have gotten there with the nut flush in a large pot. I was the asian kid who was tilted the entire time.

I can't speak for reports, but I felt safe the 3 times I have been there. Its pretty well lit. They do have valet over on the left side of the building I think. There are often shuttle busses around too. I don't think it's too big of a concern.

I was thinking today, they really need to put the chips in a dishwasher or something from time to time. They are soooo dirty. I must wash my hands when I leave.

Uh-oh.

Ari, could you please assure us that Parx will not turn into "Taj Mahal West" in regards to chip cleanliness?

What do you think the reaction would be, next time I play at the Taj, if I sat in my seat, put down the rack and snapped on a pair of latex gloves..

I collect $ 1 and $ 5 chips from ever casino I go to, I clean each one before they go into the case, you would hurl if you ever saw what the rag looks like after...
