From what I've heard, it goes fairly well, but that players in the 10/20 don't like playing short. Once it gets even 7-handed it breaks for the night.

Fact of the matter is, I think LA is the only locale in the US right now where you can find consistent limit games between 4-8 and 10-20.

The Venetian took lengths to cultivate getting 1 to 2 8-16 tables a day. Bellagio offers 8-16 but last I know it runs sporadically, with people opting for 4-8 or 15-30. Now Parx has the 1 table of 8-16. There's just really no base to draw from to get these games going; the base that was there 7-10 years ago is now playing 1/2 NL. All that's left in LHE are the leisure players (2-4, 3-6 crowd) or the "serious" players (10-20+).
Was just out in LA for the first time, it was fantastic, they had 5-7 8/16's running every time I was at Commerce, even early Thursday afternoon. Bike however, had only 2 tables that died to 1 when I was there. I did not notice if they had a game lower than 4-8, they even had a few 4-8 stud games going at Commerce.

Yup, last time at Venetian, the 8-16 was a popular game, lots of action. And Bellagio was not spreading it, as you said, they had the 4-8 and the 15. I like the 15 at Bellagio ALOT. I was surprised the Commerce did not run it, but instead they ran 20-40.

I personally would like to thank Parx for what it is trying to do to further "real poker" in particular mid-limit games. Even if they are doing it unintentionally, it is still appreciated.

I am going to print bumper stickers... "2/4 is a bore" Just say no!

I am pro-life and 2/4 is a killer... of mid-stakes limit games! I appreciate Parx's pro-life stance.

Very impressive. Wonder if that can be a regular game. Unfortunately 20/40 is as high as I'd go.

Game only plays correctly with $10 chips and a 2/3 blind structure! But,it might be fun to play with all redbirds... it would get old and painful after a while, though.

I know what you are saying. I personally LOVE IT with all reds. Stacking up a monster pot NEVER GETS OLD, IMHO. The fact that they let you keep racks on the table makes it much easier to cope with all the chips.

Ari, not to get into the limit debate but have you considered a 4-8 mini-blind game? I really enjoyed it when I was playing it at Harrah's AC a few weeks ago.

The comp system at Parx is BS. I ordered a sandwich at the bar, gave the waitress my card and expected it to be paid. Instead, I have to walk across the room (not far, but it is unnecessary) and have them put the exact amount of the order on my card so I can pay it. Then I have to go back, stand there in the smoke-infested bar area and pay my bill.

Oh, and whatever comps you have added to your card each time expire in 48 hours. A complete joke.

A short-term joke. They are working on unitiing the comp systems so that it will work the way you want and expect.

If no one told you that is just temporary until they get the backend system merged with the main comp system. Trust me the floor hate it as much as the players.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. Hang in there.

Until they work it out, it shouldn't be all that difficult to figure out how much you need and then only have that amount put on your card to pay for your tab.

I agree that it sucks, though. Hopefully, the fix is not that far away.

LOL.....that was me last night.....go over to bar.....gawk at hot bartender.....order a Turkey hoagie.....hand hot bartender my card.....get it handed back to me....have to go to front desk to get $7 put on the card.....go back to bar.....cough.....gawk at hot bartender while eating a less than mediocre hoagie.........it helped tremendously that I flopped 4 sets in 3 hours @ a 2/5 table prior to this ordeal.

1. Is the PLO 1-2 5 bring in a rule now?
2. What time of day what days a week should I try and start a game or will one be running?
3. How many players have an interest in 2-5 PLO? And what is the max at 2-5
4. Will we be able to run it twice any time soon or is it not up to parx to decide that?

1. Yes
2. It usually runs wed-sat, but it ran yesterday and today so hopefully this is the begining of seven days a week plo
3. Idk, but probabably not that many yet, once the 1-2 game is running 7 days I think it will be easier to build a bigger game. Idk what the max would be.
4. PA uses the same gaming laws as AC so no straddles and no running it twice unfortunately.

4 is not entirely true. Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh allows straddles. As far as I can tell from the PA Gaming Control Board site, optional wagers or differences in blind structures like the straddle are allowed if the casino wants and includes it in their Rules Submission (see section 521.2 of the regulations for table games). So since PA law is actually a bit flexible, there's the potential to get changes like the straddle if casino management can be swayed.
