Yes I agree. When I know in going to eat at Chickie and Pete's I'll park on the outside of that little fenced in parking lot. Then cut through it. 2 minute walk

Does anyone know what they are doing with Parx East? Fingers crossed that they turn it into a hotel.

The new room is okay but I definitely prefer the old one. The room is too bright for my tastes and the TVs mounted on the walls are obscured by other players in most cases. I also prefer not having to walk through the casino past chain smoking degens on the slot machines but that’s just a minor annoyance.

Damn the no second smoke was a great feature.

Here's a photo from their Twitter page of the new room.

I am wondering what they are going to do with this Big Stax series. They cut the # of tables almost in half. Do they have a separate room somewhere that they will use for the overflow ?
This is going to be a nightmare if they try to have a series with so few tables.

Thanks for the picture, Looks nice.

I had heard previously that they will host BigStax in the events center, similar to how Borgata runs their bigger tournament series. The poker room will just run cash games and the dailies.

Room is pretty nice but why did they put the tip boxes basically in the lap of seat 1?!?

There are a few things I hate about the new room.

1. Seat one is very uncomfortable because the dealer's tip jar is in your lap. Try to avoid seat 1 if possible.

2. There is no more bar so drunk donks now have to wait for waitresses to bring their alcohol to them. This is -EV imo.

3. Parking is a nightmare as you have to park closer to the main casino. One of the things I loved about Parx east was the relatively decent parking situation.

4. You have to walk past a smoke filled slot area to get to the poker room. It is disgusting.

5. The TV's are farther away and harder to see.

6. There are no table numbers above the tables so you have to ask/guess where your table is when the floor tells you.

7. The felt on the new tables is shifting/coming undone already. Some dealers have been complaining about it. I could see it causing cards to flip over more frequently.

The only thing I like better is the lighting and the fact that it is right next to the degens who may have a good night of blackjack or craps and want to give poker a shot.

I might start driving the extra 20 min to sugarhouse, but I will give Parx a few more tries first.

I am here now and a dealer told me they are going to address the tip jar situation.

food menu is very minimal, hopefully they have plans to expand it

I like the new room overall but agree with most of brianatca's comments/dislikes

Can you let me know when you go down? If I have a slow weekend, I'd love to join.

Since folks were asking for pics, here's the entrance and waiting area.

Since I'm still waiting, here's the whole room from the front desk.

Note the lack of table numbers, which is annoying in a room this size.

Looks horrid. What a shame the old poker room was one of the best.

The lighting is a lot warmer than it looks in my pics. I prefer the lighting and the space between some of the tables.

I agree about the lighting, the new colors are fine / nice.

But have to disagree about the table spacing. There are plenty of places where you have to squeeze to get between tables now. It's especially bad next to the floor stands, and in the back high limit area. Hopefully they will get things evened out once the room has been running for a bit and they can reflect on what needs tweaking.

I was also told that they will be fixing the tip box placement eventually.

Seat 1 sucks and I was having trouble getting reception on my IPhone but overall I think the room is great

2. I never really saw people at the old Circle Bar. Poker players are lazy. They call for chip runner when the cage has no line and it's 50 feet away. I doubt this is much of an effect.

3. Think my walk from car to casino was exactly the same, at any rate I'm not sure what you are talking about it being a nightmare.

4. It's like a two second walk through that area

5. TVs are huge. I was in the middle and I could see more TVs much better than the old room. TVs in the little waiting room. Overall TV situation much better imo

6. That's like the vast majority of rooms. Not that big of a deal, people will quickly learn.

7. Did not see this.

In general I think it is a big upgrade. Nicer room, with better lighting. So many eating options other than waiting at least an hour for bad food service.

I get that the table numbers would be looked at as tacky in that setting but I will say that was an awesome feature of the old room, particularly for infrequent visitors. You’d figure they’d want to be more welcoming especially given the extra nearby foot traffic.
