I didn't notice that (I basically gave up on reporting marked cards), but it would be kinda funny if true, because I had heard that the reason for the switch was that the old cards were getting chewed up by the shufflers too much and were having to be replaced too often.

I hear Worm really likes the new cards.

Is there no interest for a mid level non holdem game? The jump from 6/12 OE to 75/150 is pretty steep. Wonder if there's a way to establish like a 15/30 or 20/40 HOSE or something similar.

10-20 super stud / Big O still runs 1-2 days per week I think, mostly weekends.

15-30 mix used to run occasionally, but I haven't seen it in a while.

I'd be happy to see it running again, so encourage you to feel for interest and try to get it running maybe one day per week to start with. Once it becomes something people can count on, you can start trying to expand it.

The biggest problem you'll find is that the 75 guys won't play that low, and most of the 6-12 folks don't want to play bigger, except for the better players.

He's a little more focused on the WSOP right now - sitting 49th as of last chip update.

I could see a 30 or 40 hose or hote going on a Wednesday. Maybe...but it would likely require people playing short. Going to run into the well I don't wanna play with 6 and then next guy saying I only play 5..

Thing with building a new game is people need to show up and play in bad games, short, to cultivate stability.

Also the new. Cards are gemaco p.o.s. cards roughly 20% cheaper. They're total trash. Hard to pitch, and mark super easy...they might not rip in machines but they'll be totally trashed in 5 months. Borgata tried this same idea about 7 years ago. They switched back. Very very very disappointed to seek them this week.

I'll play 10/20 or 15/30 mix. (20/40 is a bit stiff for me.)

I guess it's less an issue if all the cards are marked, but they are way way worse than the old decks in this respect.
I agree they definitely do get marked up more easily. I think that is directly related to the thickness as more force is required to peel them.

The new cards seem to me to be similar to the borgata low limit cards, and I agree that they are trash. hard to pitch, hard to peel, and easily marked. The graphics on them also seem really lo-res, I am really at a loss to understand the upside to them. I guess it is just the cost savings....
I hope you are right that they switch back, they are terrible cards.

Awful move by Parx to change from KEM (the best card brand in the gaming industry) to Gemaco. Have they not learned from Borgata and WSOP that cards matter to the players? The red has a maroon dark tint to them and tougher to distinguish suits especially in low light. The Gemaco also dent very easily. I have seen more damaged cards the past few days than normal. Can't have a worse brand of cards especially when playing non holdem games. Rather have Copag than Gemaco.

Are they trying to save a few bucks? Do they think thicker cards mean less damage prone? Whoever made this decision is not a real poker player. Fwiw these are the brand of cards Ivey was edge sorting with. I know it has nothing to do with poker but proves that Gemaco has terrible quality control.

Any update on the move to the other building? I heard a dealer say yesterday that it may not be happening now in November as previously rumored. I personally am not thrilled about the move anyway. I love the current room..

The room is nice, but I'd like to see more casino game traffic at the poker tables

Do cash games run 24/7?
Any games between 7am - 1pm tomorrow, I've a few hours to kill and will be nearby.
Thanks

Yes, 1/2 and 2/5 run 24-7. 6-12 OE will usually start right around the time you arrive, if it didn't go all night.

According to Bravo the 5-5 PLO and 15-30 are still running as of this moment as well.

Nice. Maybe we'll start with something like HOSE + Deuce at 10/20 and see how it goes?

I think that start date is a typo. I'm seeing July 30. This coming Sunday.

Yes, it was an error, your date is correct. Fat fingers + phone keyboard = lots of errors. Good thing I put the link there

Things change in a year I guess...

2-2 goes daily (3 players currently on the interest list @ 10:42am). 5-5 goes almost as frequently. 5-10 less so.

Pretty much daily as Clinton H mentioned.

As for buy-in, it's 100-500.
