I think the message would read differently if they were doing away with then all together.

Dunno. Hope so. Lots of time between then and now, so I am not worried about it yet.

I heard from the Parx dealers that the move is schedule for Nov. They also said that they will be going to down to about 50 tables for cash only and using the convention center downstairs for when they run the Big Stax series.

Has anyone stayed at any of the area hotels? I've asked around but most players are locals and even staff doesn't have much info. Any first hand info both positive and negative appreciated.

OIC you have safety deposit boxes. How hard is it to get one?

Put your name on the list, play for a while, be a high limit player who is a reg, then when a box opens up they go to the highest name on the list. Just like most rooms.

Except that we are moving rooms to the other building in 6 months, and who knows what will happen then.

The Holiday Inn Express is sort of in the parking lot of Parx (next to the Applebee's) and is a fine place to stay.

they said "have to show a full 12 months of playing high stakes." when i first asked, they said "10-10 is not considered high enough stakes" even tho that was the highest that was regularly available. it also wasnt a full 12 months, more like 7 months, or maybe its just when boxes open up, not sure

the holiday inn is nice and they give you a small discount. Wouldn't bother going any further. Best Western down street road a few minutes is also nice but not worth the 5 - 10 minute drive.

Can anyone tell me about the 40-80 LHE game? How it plays, when it starts? Thinking of showing up tomorrow.

Thanks.

Only play recreationally so cant comment on specifics too much.

Sucks on tight table, pretty damn fun on loose table, great if there is a bad aggro driving things. Split pots really hurt profitability. Biggest errors are people chasing half pots without the odds to do so. KT8 flop, the have A2 and nothing else. Folks calling a completed bet in stud with a 9 showing.

I've only played it a few times. It's easier than the pink chip game was in AC but it's heavy reg infested. Tight is right and you'll turn a profit. Gotta think the game runs practically 24/7, and like alot of split games there's some real miserable people playing it. Lol the 10/20 game is phenomenal I think though.

The Parx poker room has gotten new playing cards and they are awful in my view. Very thick and heavy, hard to play 4 card games with them as peeling is very annoying. Heard from a floor guy that complaining is pointless as management is very 'invested' in the new cards. Here's hoping sustained and widespread feedback will change their minds.

King of Prussia mall had an exchange, seems to be replaced by an exchange machine (ATM-like???).

No matter what you do, be prepared to be ripped off big time.

The color on the new cards is great. The thickness is not great, but I'm sure we'll get used to them soon enough. The big issue is that they mark much much much easier. Within a few hours of a new deck about half the deck had quarter moon chip or nail marks in them. I guess it's less an issue if all the cards are marked, but they are way way worse than the old decks in this respect.

They also crease very easily, much more than they should. I've seen them having to change out individual cards at a much higher rate than they had to with the old decks.
