This is a good site for seeing what the past month of games at Parx have looked like: http://www.thirdmanwalking.com/games...earch_text=PLO

As you can see, 5-5 PLO runs pretty close to daily. Mid week it might bump up higher. It doesn't look like it's often running during the day though, and Friday does look to be a little hit and miss.

I still dont understand the reasoning behind why this room is busy Mon-Wed when other rooms seem dead compared to the weekends. Do people travel here because big games dont run in nearby rooms? What is the reason?

That's it exactly. The former ambassador was able to establish Tuesday's as a night for big games. That night now has longevity for higher limit games running. Sands 10/25 usually runs on Mondays for some reason as well.

It seems like there is more tables overall. What is the reason for that?

More tables period? Good question. The 7PM tournament maybe? All the people who bust out and go play cash afterwards combined with the high stakes? There's no other tournaments in the area on Tuesday. That would be my only guess. Watch bravo at 7 and then see the difference by 9.

A lot of people live nearby (wealthy suburbs, Philly and northeast Philly all very short drives) making this an attractive option to play during the week vs driving to Ac, etc. They basically took a lot of ac's midweek business and created a market of their own by allowing many weekend warriors to play during the week as well. Plus it's a very well run, comfortable and quiet room.

On a typical Friday night at 8-9pm, how many 2/5 games are running? How many 10/10 or higher games? Tried finding this but only thing I can find is when games are running, not how many.

...check whats running at 8pm Fri... unless you're shilling for this TMW site that all the sudden popped up in this thread. I guess in that case, you would already know the answer and are just trying to boost google visability by having people link it another time er somethin amirite?

The TMW site, which is very helpful to me at least to be able to answer questions about when different games run, does not answer the question of how many games are running at a given time, so no he's probably not shilling for it.

I am the one and only person associated with "this TMW site." I have conversed extensively with the mods of LCP (and B&M before that). We have agreed upon rules as to my posting which are basically the same as for any other poster in this forum.

kingofsports is in no way affiliated with TMW.

Rite on... the timing+content of inquiry seemed suspect to me is all. Not gonna lie, join dates and post counts/history still do but meh, its out there. Better safe then sorry amirite?

I make no apologies for caution and awareness. Especially in a time of the Computer Darkside Nerd and deceptive hustles to generate hits that in turn generate advertising revenue on the backs of unsuspecting randoms (among a plethora of other things the CDN is responsible). KOS doesn't have to be an affiliate either, buddies/brothers/sisters/cousins/co-workers @ FT job can shill. Not to mention gimmicks.

No offence intended

Next time just report the post with your concerns, and let the mods handle it. No need to make an attack/accusation ITT. That's sound advice for everyone

Playing a 1/2 game Friday night. Not in the actual hand but at the table. It's on the river and the board reads 5C 2D 5D 7H AD.
Cutoff bets 60. Button makes it 160. Reraise 330 button all in. Steel wheel against quad 5s.
No bad beat because 6s are the qualifier. So sick. I feel like we all got a bad beat including the delaer. Of course the guy who got felted felt the worse. So close yet so far away. Had to share the misery with everyone.

Thinking of taking a half day tomorrow and heading over. How does 1/2 play mid week + mid day? Is it a nitfest?

I don't have recent experience in the 1-2, but I'm sure it's like it is everywhere else. It may be a tad nittier than average at mid day, but it will be fine (and it will be no different than 1-2 at any other room).

My table just missed bad beat on day earlier on Saturday the 16th. I was in the hand. Had 6, 7 Flop comes 3, 4, K Not a lot of action but we got to the showdown after bricks on the turn and river and the lady next to me shows down A, 2. We both had the straight flush draw looking for the 5. We asked the other players at the table and nobody had folded the 5 of clubs. We had 2 chances for it, but missed. Spent the next half hour lamenting about how close it was . . .

Time to rehash the chip running situation.

When you bust out, many dealers not only fail to ask if you need chips, but they are also shy or refuse to call for the chiprunner in an audible manner.

Not only that but if chips are called loudly, the sole chiprunner may be in the back of the room or too busy to come immediately.

This leaves most people (who arent the regs that carry extra blacks) to miss hands, potentially waiting for a nonexistent chiprunner, and/or to go to a cage line.

Deters business. The floor or someone needs to jump in and help get chips when the chiprunner is too busy. IMHO

These are all reasonable requests, with a minor quibble that I'm not sure they should ask the recently departed if they want chips unless they see them pulling out cash. Some might see that as rubbing it in.

My experience is that most floors will already jump in and get chips as long as they are not in the middle of something else, but that's not something you can always count on.

My experiences is also that most dealers will yell for a chip runner, but you're right, some are quiet or introverted and can't get loud enough to be effective.

Hopefully you are bringing some extra blacks to help out at your own table, anyway.

(I still prefer the current system to one where dealers sell out of racks and need frequent fills.)

Buy extra chips. you can sell them and keep the game going..then just have them run when they can for more. Rinse and repeat.

But yea system isnt great.

1st time coming to Parx. Are there hotels within walking distance of casino? How safe is the walk?

I don't want to rent a car. What is best way to get there from PHL airport?
