Hi,
I am a recreational 1/2 player, and I just visited Parx casino for the first time last week. I live closer to AC and usually play at the Borgata, but my buddies and I wanted to check out Parx Casino for a change of pace. I really liked the atmosphere. The dealers were friendly, games ran smoother, but the one thing that really bothered me were the electronic cigarettes. For this reason alone, my buddies and I will not be back. There were a couple of gentlemen at the table who were vaping for most of the night and blowing smoke in my face to the point that I thought I was having a severe asthma attack. I kindly asked the gentlemen to go back to the smoking area, where the older of the two gentlemen proceeded to tell me with much arrogance that they can smoke at the table since they weren't real cigarettes. I then told him that smoke is smoke and therefore he should go join the other smokers in the back.

I asked the pair of them to not blow smoke in my face which they rudely proceeded to do. My buddies and I asked a floor person to send the smokers back to the smoking area which the floor proceeded to tell us that they can't do that. I don't know what kind of casino this is, but most of the other casinos I've been to including Borgata, Harrahs, Hollywood Casino at Penn National treat the ecigs the same as cigs and allot them to the smoking area. I then asked for a table change which was pretty easy to do since there were many 1/2s running, but it took me 10 minutes to get a new table, during that time I had to breathe in poisonous fumes. I know I could have just waited off the table until I got a new seat, but why should I have to stand around when I came to have fun and play poker on the weekend.

I transferred to a new table, and everything was fine until a new young guy sat down and began incessantly puffing on his ecig. That is when I told the three buddies I came with that I was out of there. Fortunately, they understood I was getting sick and had to go. One thing is for sure, we will not be back at Parx anytime soon until these ecigs are designated to the smoking area where they belong. I don't see why the floor people here won't do anything about it. Has anyone else had a problem with these floor people not doing their jobs?
