I saw an old post saying there are busses from NYC via Chinatown. Anybody ever done this? Looking to find the best way to parx from the city.

Not helpful.

No mention of Chinatown buses when you google that. Just instructions for getting to Philly and then how to take a SEPTA bus from downtown Philly to Parx.

Clearly not what he is looking for

Clearly you are incapable of scrolling past the first result to find what you're looking for.

History.

The was a time when there was an Asian bus company (or maybe two) that served Parx from both Chinatown, NY and some Asain neighborhood of Philadelphia. But the Feds cracked down on many of the fly by night bus companies, and Parx didn't particularly care since many of the people who took the bus were hobos who sold their free bet vouchers and never gambled.

There are no good options for public transportation from NYC to Parx.

A tale of a hand that happened at parx casino 10/1/2014:

I was playing the 10/10 game on Wednesday morning when the following occurred.

the times aren't exactly correct but just to show the amount of time that had passed.

at 7am a player noticed that the 5 of hearts has a scratch in the back of it, it's a damaged card or whatnot.

the floor comes, replaces the card, we continue to play.

730-745 a hand comes up. the hand goes 3 way to the flop (240x3) turn is bet at (520x2) and i shove a river and the player 100% announced fold and i am fairly certain that his hand hit the muck.

The dealer says "hold on there's a problem" and calls the floor over after the hand is completed but the pot hasn't been pushed to me yet.

the floor comes over, the dealer explains to the floor that the river burn card is a slightly different color than the rest of the cards. (it is the 5 of hearts). The floor rules that the pot has to be split up equitably; all players involved in the hand are given back the amount which they started the hand with from the pot.

so my two questions are this:

1) is this the correct ruling?

2) is there any recourse i can take against the casino/floor/dealer who are responsible for this happening?

3. If a card with a different color back appears during a hand, all action is void and all chips in the pot are returned to the respective bettors. If a card with a different color back is discovered in the stub, all action stands.

The cards left in the deck after it has been dealt out. So if the top card of the deck on the river was the differently backed card, it would be fine.

BadBeat Jackpot question: I know both hole cards from each hand have to play, but if one of the players has quads with a kicker that plays, does that count? I've heard different opinions on this.

Example:
Board is: KhKsKcQcJc
Player1: AdKd
Player2: 9c10c

Does this qualify? I can't find "official" rules on the parx website.

You need pocket pair for quads to qualify

Seems like people aren't posting here as much unless it's regarding hotel or public transportation options.

Anyway.. got an update on the 2/5 bbj drop situation.. Apparently, it was mentioned once to Bill and never talked about again. I guess no one cares or people don't understand how it effects 2/5 players the most? Do the 2/5 regs not know how much this effects their hourly? I'm not a fan of the bbj so why should the stakes I play suffer the most?

If Parx is gonna have a bbj at least make it fair for all stakes. But hey, I heard there is a new poker room 14 miles from me that doesn't have a bbj... That's an option.

Sigh. Just got to the 6/12 oe game. Looks like the 8/16 O8 ran overnight.

Just got chased down by AA88 on 553 board (I had 55 in the BB). Flop was capped many handed. Love the massive chase for 1/2 pot. A turn. Active table for 830am.

Parx drops $1 for the bbj at $20 whether it be 1/2 or 2/5. Every casino that has a bbj, such as the borgata, drops at 10x the big blind. So basically four limpers in a 2/5 takes an extra dollar but in 1/2, the whole table can limp in and there still wouldn't be a bbj drop. If u go back a page or two on this thread I explain this in more detail. The bottom line is when we consider every player equal that contribute to the bbj the 2/5 players get screwed the most.
